Marcarl replied to bongobobny's topic in Watering Hole
Lookin real good Uncle Bob, just can't seem to find my stone, but that's alright, it's probably buried, holding everybody else in place. -
What's with these deers lately? Haven't they been taught that riding motorcycles is not something they can do? Glad to here you 2 is ok and able to mend. Maybe next time take some pillows along for Tina, can't get her all scratched up.

Now I just noticed that the hair in your beard is turning just a little grey and the stick you have a hold of is shaking,,,,, are you alright?

Boy oh boy,,, that sure do sound somewhat familiar. Now I don't have any Waverunners, but the story does have a real familiar ring to it. I'm thinking that you're not really alone in that club, but it is your turn to buy the beer!!

Front wheel seals
Marcarl replied to dna9656's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Now that's news to me, didn't know there were two seals. -
That's an OUCH!!! Good thing to have friends though and a Wing. Glad you didn't give up riding. Question though, did she buy you a coffee?

Yep, it all depends on the seasons, timing and heat of spring, how the summer developed, timing of the first frost, amount of rainfall,,, it's hard to pinpoint it at this time yet, hence a flexible date.

I read a saying the other day: There are those who love bacon, and then there are others, and they're wrong! Somehow I think that kind of works in this scenario as well. So can we say: There are those who have dropped their scoot............... Or: There are two kinds of riders, those who have dropped their ride and those that will do that yet?

I'm thinking, just thinking mind you, to go for a color ride on Saturday October 13th 2018. It all depends on the weather and maybe some other things, but it's in my thought plans. The timing I think should be good with Thanksgiving out of the way nice and early this year. The route would be or may be or possibly could be from Brantford to Collingwood and back again. I'm thinking breakfast somewhere around Guelph, Orangeville and lunch in the Collingwood area. I also think that it might be a good time to get lost at times, just to see what the country view can offer. I'm thinking to leave home about 7 or 8 am and be back before bedtime, should be full day. I don't mind having more scooters coming along, if even for part of the ride. Once it's decided as to the route the timing can be worked out more accurately. Wanta go? Let me know!

turn signal trouble
Marcarl replied to ragtop69gs's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Sometimes the center connector in a fitting will stick and needs to be freed. Check the ground at the light socket, run a test light from the battery or known power source to the socket jacket, the light should come on, if not, there is a ground problem. If there is no power coming from the bike you need to find out why. Not sure about a 2nd gen, but some systems are fused separately, maybe even have a different flasher. Are the 4 ways working and does it work with the 4 ways? -

Are you blinking at the wrong time? -
If I had new ones on site, I would probably put in the new ones, and if they got a little mixed up on the bench that wouldn't worry me a whole lot. These are not weight bearing washers, they are there to deal with oil flow so I doubt that the spring action is used much if at all. That's probably why Yamaha is out of stock and they have been for a while already, no call for them.

Now I wasn't there to view the fray, but it seems to me that if there were only 3 Canuckians then that is all there should have been on that team,,, and,,,, that the 3 Canuckians would have easily matched the 4 Americans at their game. Nothing sad about the American imposter, but I could think that he might well have thrown the game, just so that his counter-conspirators could hold their flag high. On the other hand, why would the peace loving Canuckians want to go to a foreign country and disturb the peace by upsetting the whole apple cart and taking the flag back to a much northern location. In retrospect it might have caused a flap, a big flap, a mighty big flap, and more work for the Canuckian foreign minister of international flapitionians. I think as it turned out, what happened, and happened for a good reason. We are presently still at peace, we got back over the dividing line safely and none of the higher-ups are any the wiser. We didn't have any overworked ministers or others taraffing each other. Had it been the other way around, who knows what it may have conspired to have meant. I for one am glad the Americans took the prize, now if they think they are real good at this maybe it's time to see if they can also do this on foreign soil, of course there would have to be a large enough contingent to be able to select from, or at least to fill the available foot holds, we would even be so nice as to let them bring their own impedimenta. We'll see how that works for the next round!!

Not that this suggestion would of helped you at all, but I've been told that the best way to get rid of a chasing dog is to go slow until it matches your speed, and then twist the throttle. If you keep picking up speed the dog will think that it has you, once it thinks that it has you then you pull away and it gives up,,, for them, there is always a 'next time'
