Ben, I got my 2 gen (Barnette plate, Yamaha disks) from my Yamaha dealer. He price matched my best internet price. Don't know if yours will do same but nice doing business if he will. My old parts were okay but it did resolve my "can't find neutral" problem,,, and more spring.

Actually, the Pope came out and saw his shadow this morning,,, there will be 6 more weeks of Conclave. (oh,, yes I'm Catholic,,,, yes, saving up for confession.)

US 1 at I-95, Don't pass on the right shoulder to get into a gas station,,, even if you are out of gas and pushing it. You will get a ticket. (Leo walked out of the bushes. The bike can pull most bike pull-behind trailers fine. Flat land, you won't know it. Starting on an up-hill with two up ain't going to hurt but it will feel it. Make sure brakes are good and your brake fluid is reasonably fresh. Load is important. Sway is NO fun. My little Harbor Freight w/Sears cargo has got the sways a few times. Usually going down hill on interstate and maybe when you let off At 70 mph+. Remember, you MAY have to speed up to loose a sway, raising the pucker factor. I believe my problem is related to my lowered bike, so the trailer is low at the tongue. I have just put in a riser hitch to push it up 2". Will test that soon to see if it goes away. I don't recall having the problem before lowering. I will probably upgrade to a more "factory built" trailer this year,,, when I find what I want. Geeze,,, you're covered! If you get stuck, look under the member/vendor forum for Wild Bill. He knows that stuff.

I would say just buy the full set of metrics 9 piece and you should get it. That runs from 1.5 to 10mm. Stick with a good brand so they can take the torque to loosen. (If you are buying a set, I like the ones that are balled on the long end. Just preference.)

It ain't aimed at Venture people. More for city kids, learning to shave (or not from the video). Hope they sell a lot. Someone pointed out, it will fit in a pickup. Look for more (maybe for us) in June, Vegas dealer show.

Like already said, thanks for posting,,, so next time I pull behind a rig at a stop,,,, I'll keep it in mind. Also, I think Shout helps get stains out of your jeans and I use it on my bike too.

I've got two of them,,, V4's. The only time I notice the whine as "loud" is when in the mountains going up a long grade with a load (me & wife or me & wife and pulling trailer). Probably pushing 3rd gear. But I know what it is,,,so,, ok. Otherwise, sometimes I may notice it very lightly on a local ride but not loud or irritating. But when I do hear it, it sound like percision gearing, not some grating rattle. I'm good with what I got. If I had it to do again,,, I would have 2 of them,,, V4's!

When Wally sold his RSV, I bought his leather bib and gas cap made by Nancy (pictured in her ad). Well,,, someone snatched the gas cap in Springfield, MO while I was distracted in Hooters. So,,,, Nancy, I understand you will be in Hershey, PA in July. Maybe see about a replacement then. Mike G in SC

I would say that folks who buy them likely need the bullet proof model, add $100k. And likely your insurance will have $50k deductable,,,, and well should!

I saw the blue 1300 Saturday at a multi-dealer showroom. It did have the GPS in the dash. But I didn't even look at the bike as,,,,, it's way down the chain from the RSV. It was sitting next to the new Honda F6B. Well, it looked better in pictures. It has a bigger rear end than my aunt Birtha. It sat low,,, but it is so wide at the thighs that someone with 30" or less inseam will not be able to flat foot it. Heard some comments from friends about "felt like giving birth". I also sat on a Bergman. Actually comfortable when you put your feet up. I'm 62 now, may look at one in 8 or 10 years.

Like Mike said, that's not the mystery bike under the covers. Parts don't match up. I think that bike is going to be something smaller.

Yamaha Ring Free (expensive stuff) is basically concentrated Techron,,, I do believe. Supposed to have same main ingredient. Used to use it for stick valve on my Road Star.

Yeah, the Atlanta show in November was half size too,,,,, and that was with Yamaha there. Yamaha had a great display in Atlanta. Thought about going to Charlotte today,,, probably not. Already got my glasses cleaned and free mini-bottle of 5-Hour Energy (and in Atlanta, guys were grudginly giving it out instead of the cute girls they had last year, go figure).

Funny, I did the same on my RSTD. I thought I had it all hooked up. My daughter happened into the carport and I said hold your ears. Poooooo was about it. Yep one wire was not on good, we were hearing the pittiful horn in the left cowling. She said, "needs some work" and started to walk off. I saw the wire, plugged it in and GEEZZZ, don't do that in a carport! Mike G

Al, when we were at the Yamaha center in Kennesaw (was good to see you again) last Oct the techs there and Alan C all said their info was on a new Venture in the works (with V4). Heard same at the Atlanta IMS. Like Jim, I ain't ready to call it dead yet! Mike G.

For those who may have interest, a couple from my Columbia SC STAR Touring Chapter is having a dealer Meet & Greet at the local Orangeburg SC multi bike dealer this Saturday, Feb 23 11 am to 2 pm. Reggie and Sherry Brewer, good people I've known a year or so, will be looking for interested riders in that area. Several of us (SC STAR chapters) will show Saturday, rain (likely) or shine (not likely) to chow down on some homemade chili and probably dealer supplied hot dogs.
