Adding Rear Lighting ?
dave_wells replied to FuzzyRSTD's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
I bought a set of their clusters and converter my brake light to running and turn http://www.customdynamics.com/motorcycle_dynamic_clusters.htm http://www.customdynamics.com/ They have some plate frames as well -
Fixed mine last week it was not as bad but getting there its been only 250 miles so far so good I used epoxy and a metal mesh drywall patch as reinforcement on the edges cut in strips and set in the epoxy clean it first I mad a rectangle plate and used both mounting holes at the rear of the trunk with a piece of sheet metal under the whole base and adhered with silicone then just a few rivets drill the cracks at the ends stops them from spreading then about every inch and get the epoxy inside the cracks let it dry over night Then work on the big stuff when everything is somewhat held together I will take a couple of pictures and post them when I am home this evening You can check eBay I have seen a few trunks for around 400.00

dave_wells replied to dave_wells's topic in GPS, Audio, Electronics
Thanks I picked up a couple of clamps Got 1 speaker on how I like it Now I just need to run some power and I am good to go -
I purchased a while ago a shark audio system I could use a couple of ideas on mounting them picture if you have them Are they any good if you have used them It consists of two speakers an amp and power cord with a fuse to run to the battery I want to mount on my tour deluxe My options are a P clamp on the handle bar or drill and mount them to the windshield I prefer the handle bar mount The amp has a handle bar mount on it Since I have the bike apart it is a good time to do any wiring

There were a bunch of cracks I bought it anyway took it apart Drilled the ends of the cracks to keep from spreading Sanded all the edges Opened the cracks Filled Witt epoxy Made a base from 22 ga sheet metal and will mount it to the bottom outside of the trunk I will replace the washers with 22 ga strips and use both bolt holes note the one like original Thanks for the tip -
Hello all... For all who know me I have been saying I will get a Venture when I see one that just calls me Today might be it. Some input would help I love my 2006 RSTD so I am in no rush to purchase From a dealer I have been using for 5 years now and trust selling for an acquaintance 2000 Venture Red two tone 28,000 miles Asking 5995.00 I offered 5000.00 She wants 5300.00 Spotless no damage I can find Kuryakyn grips - Radiator grill cover - Bub Pipes and original included 2 helmets with all electronics -Passenger armrest - Saddle bags rails - highway pegs Serviced and Rebuilt Carburetors just done over the winter Seemed to start up OK Owner Passed away 3 years ago it has sat in the garage Been at the dealer for about 3 months now

Seeing the sights and catching a few pictures a good lunch and spending a day with some good friends 50 miles or 200 miles in between I like a leisurely pace and some time to soak in the sights is my preference That can still be a long days ride
