  1. I also am using the one for the road star, I won it on e-bay (new, in box) with shipping it was 65.00 (US) total. It sits a few inches lower, looks great, and performs well.
  2. are these the deflectors? I tried the website and couldn't search by description do you have a part number
  3. Where did you get the battery covers chromed? And how much did it cost? I've been wondering if it was cheaper to have them chromed than to buy the chromed ones, I was also thinking of having the air box covers chromed instead of getting them oem and having to use the K/N filters, any thoughts on this would be appreciated, Thanks, Dan
  4. Steve, The ones on your bike are clear with 2 mounting points, the yamaha ones are tinted and mount only on the bottom, Do you have a part number and mfg. for the clear ones you have, Thanks, Dan
  5. What Jeff is saying is correct, but remember that the later front turn signals use that nice 3 pin bulb instead of the 1157 2 pin bulb, If you use the earlier model lights they are the same housing with the 1157. both work and wire up the same but the 3 pin oem bulbs are more than double the price of the 1157. I got the lights (new) from e-bay, Cycle parts direct, $29.95 p/n 11-2350. The red lenses were from Kuryakyn, p/n 2267 and were about $10.00
  6. Hey I really like these clear ones, Where did you get them????
  7. I also replaced the rear turn signals with a front set , kept the clear bulbs, and put on red lenses from kuryakin. SOOOO much more running light now, still have the turn in them and the red lenses look great on a red bike.
  8. I have an 07 RSTD, I found a mint set of harley mufflers on e-bay for $25.00, and made my own brackets out of 1/4" aluminum and polished them, I got the measurements from this site. The luggage rack from a later model roadstar sits about 3" lower than the rstd one that bolts to the sissy bar. It mounts to the rear seat bolt and license plate bracket. I love it. You definetly need the passing lights. Look good and work good. However the RSTD headlight has a built in sorta visor on it. And instead of getting the add on visors, you can get the trim rings (visor style) from HD that will match the headlight quite nicely. The other mod I did was to replace the rear turn signals with a front (older gen bike with 1157 bulbs instead of the 3 pin 10.00 a piece bulbs)set I found on e-bay (new) for 40.00. I added a set of red lenses from kuryakyn 10.00 and wired the other filiment to taillight so now the rear turn signals are also running lights. There is a plug and play kit available to do the same thing but the price is about double and now if a bulb goes out I can get one anywhere. This is a great site and I have learned that almost anything you want to do or need to know you can find it here. Enjoy makin' it your own !!!!!!
  9. Just my 2 cents worth, First, you do need to have the bike warmed up. That way there is the maximum sealing in the cylinders to create accurate vacuum. Second, set the idle speed. You won't get a good vacuum signal if it is too low. Third re-check/adjust idle after adjustments are made. I ordered the carbtune pro and it is a great tool. I've also used it on my boat, and some friends classic cars with multiple carbs. Just don't let one of the hoses touch the exhaust. It will melt right through. Also the supplied hoses get real soft when warm so I went out and bought some thicker hoses. I use the instructions that I found here on venture rider to sync the carbs, and they were great (Thanks goes to Freebird ) here is the link. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=258
  10. Concours, Please help! I can't get the pic to open, and I tried to get the ones from yahoo pics to open, also to no avail. I'd love to see them I have a 07 RSTD and would like to retain the oem's. I'm not crazy about th r/k's because they have the slash up "/" verses the slash down "\" on the tips like mine and the only other ones I can find are the harley I believe the # is 65255-00 or 65254-00 with seperate end cones(purchased seperately) in 3" or 6" lengths, Thanks, Dan
  11. My Brother purchased his Road star from them for an unbeatable price and then ordered about $1,500.00 in oem items to add onto it and they messed up on the paint for the saddlebags. He is has been trying to iron it out since August. I was going to purchase my RSTD from them they said they would beat any price(as usual) but when I brought them the deal in writing they said the dealer in which I did purchase it from was wrong, well guess what? I got it from a much smaller strictly yamaha dealer and even though they are 60 miles away I have been quite happy. There was also an item they listed on e-bay but they wouldn't let me pick up locally. The dealership (it should be the same one) is locate in Medina, Ohio
