Awesome. It started here that way too, she had never been on a bike and mentioned trying it. One short ride on a Virago and she said she might like it. I started looking for a tourer and found my 1st gen Venture. We rode it on day trips until I found the 2nd gen that fit us better. Now we go on vacations on the bike and every time the weather clears on a day off she mentions a ride if I don't beat her to it. Loving every minute of it.

Well for as "worried" as they seemed about my breathing it must not be too critical. It only took 6 weeks to get me fitted with a machine. Got the ResMed. We'll see how it goes.

I get what you're saying Sky, that's why I have mixed feelings. I'll admit I'm biased because of my job and the fact I have Leo's in my family. I've seen the direct result of people doing stupid things and I guess it gives me a hardened outlook. To me when he chose to endanger everyone else it was no longer a minor offense and he faced the consequences. I have long thought that if I'm the one doing something stupid or make a mistake driving I hope I'm the only one hurt by it. I've just seen to many innocent people hurt by careless or dangerous driving. On a current note my wife is going through a tough time dealing with injuries from a wreck from over two years ago. She has permanent injury and pain to deal with. The other driver simply made a mistake and crossed in front of her. We hold no ill thoughts or grudges to her but will face medical issues and bills the rest of her life because of it. It's part of life and we go on, if that driver had been drunk, running, or driving crazy I wouldn't have the same outlook.

Right after I wrote the above post I read a news story of a chase at the other end of the state from me. The driver was an escaped convict from near me, stole at least two vehicles, and had drugs, cash, and stolen guns in the car. The initial call was for a suspicious car, he ran. If they hadn't chased him what else was he going to do in upcoming days? Luckily we won't know since he's locked up. This was one of the good ones where no one was hurt.

I have some mixed feelings on these chases. As somebody who has dealt with the consequences of these kinds of things it makes you think. I've cut people out of wrecked cars, zipped body bags, and loaded many in ambulances after crashes. On one hand chases are dangerous but when police aren't allowed to chase it encourages people to run creating more issues. When the guy runs from a minor infraction the Leo doesn't know why he's running. Does he have a reason, is he a wanted person, warrants, drugs etc. We recently had a crotch rocket take out 3 cars and suffered life altering injuries trying to run from a cop that wasn't after him. The officer was responding to assist on a fire call in a highly occupied building, kid saw blue lights and ran. He tied up police resources, an ambulance, and a fire unit that was needed on the original call. In a small town where there are limited resources to start with it endangers more lives than just the ones on the road. With only 10-12 firefighter's on duty, 1-2 available ambulances, and few officers on the road at a time the heart attack, the child hurt, the pregnant mother in labor, the person trapped in a burning building have to wait while we deal with the imbecile that ran. I don't have much sympathy left for the runner. Do I break the law speeding? Yes I do, I also pull over when lighted. I haven't had a ticket in years but deserved the ones I got and more I didn't get because I pulled over a was truthful with the Leo's. Trying not to be political but I believe in corporal punishment, swift and strong. He earned what he got, I hope it will make others stop and think this could be me if I run.

Yep, that's like buying a motorcycle and adding gadgets, doodads, chro.......... uuuhhhmmmmm never mind.

Out of curiosity did you check swingarm bearings and steering neck bearings? Reason I ask I did the swingarm when I installed the CT but not the neck bearings. I had it on the jack getting ready for the WNY rally and the neck bearings seemed a little loose, I tightened it up by the instructions here and it wanted to go into a death wobble at 90 mph and big truck turbulence was terrible. I backed them back off and it settled down. I'm going to replace the neck bearings this year before I really get into riding season. It rode great before I messed with the neck bearings, I had it above 90 two up pulling a trailer to get away from some trucks with no issue. I do run the 150 front, haven't been into the forks to see if PO changed springs, and have leveling links installed.

Jeff I installed the Nexen last spring. The ride is much smoother and braking is improved, even my wife commented on the ride the first time she was on it. I rode solo locally a few times before I let her on it just to be sure it was safe. I did an 1100 mile saddlesore, 2200 miles to Niagara and back, 1700 on WNY trip, and several shorter trips. The only difference I feel is on a crowned road if I let go of the bars it will sometimes want to migrate down the crown and if I shift in a low speed corner it will try to stand up a little while the clutch is pulled. The only place I really notice it is a wide sweeping turn from a stop sign nearby, if I shift from first mid turn it tries to stand up a little. It's not a violent jump or anything that bothers me, it doesn't take me out of my line, I just feel it. When this tire is worn out I will install another just like it. My local tire shop mounted it, like everybody else said it took nearly 100'psi to seat it. I just walked out to check and I have 12,200 miles on it with 6/32 tread left. I was running through back MC tires every 6-7000 miles. I tried Commander II and Shinko 777 before I went this route. I went with the Nexen because it was taller than the BFG, some say the BFG is a better ride though. I ride just as hard in the twisties as I ever did with no problems.

I haven't tried that one but I use the HF jack on my RSV with no problem. Carbon One,s adapter is the way to go on it. I built mine myself but haven't made the legs Larry's has but everyone brags on his.

Neither my nor I could take long distances on the 1st gen, I got the 2nd gen which is much more suited to both of us. We were riding a little more until we made the trip home from Don's MD 2018 in one day, it was too much for her. Then add in some injuries from a car wreck and she just wasn't comfortable on the bike very long. I built the passenger highway pegs that helped some and added armrests and BINGO she's back in go mode. I do limit our days so we take a long lunch break and try to stay under 5-6 hours on the bike before we find a room. It works for her so I save the long days for the occasional solo trip, I still do a few 10-12 hr days and a saddlesore last year. 17 hrs home from WNY last year was trying my limits.

Carl be sure to take care of yourself and drink plenty of liquids so you don't overheat in that corner. After all it is a 90 degree corner.

So are you saying I can let my 07 set out in the sun to make it faster? I got it from Yammer Dan that faded blue is best.
