  1. It is difficult to make that choice. As much as we do love these 1st gens and I am sorry I still say it is a better bike to ride than the second gen, like so many people these days, I have time to ride or I have time to work on it, I do not have time for both. My 86 is for sale, I will cry when it leaves but it is time to move on and RIDE ! I know how you feel
  2. just so you know in 2002 the Canadian Yamaha color was listed as "yellowish silver" not champagne or gold or Titanium.
  3. Brian, when will you be going to Kamloops do you have a date yet?
  4. Brian, I think I may have looked twice at that bike, or one very similar in Calgary and just did not want to travel that far over the mountains so early in the year. I have spent more than a few hours in a large parking lot practicing the handling on the 02, I think I am winning with the "feel" of it, tire pressure adjusting also helps some with that. I did a 500 kilometer ride last weekend down in Washington State where they have real highways to ride on and I feel real good at high speed... the thing loves 120 to 140 kmh. Enjoy
  5. I did the two day training course last year on my 86 and will be doing it again the end of June on my 02. It is one he'll of a work out, hands arms shoulders hurt big time after. I am not quite as quick as that yet. National level PD training in our city mid May and will be open to public.
  6. If you get up to Western Canada...............
  7. How was the weather for the ride up Miles? When I left Seattle yesterday it was looking pretty dark that way, I never saw any rain but it looked like it was coming down the east side of the Sound, I took ferry to Bainbridge Island then up to Port Angeles and was dry all the way.
  8. sorry folks cannot be there that weekend
  9. Any 4wd or 4x4 should always have all 4 tires changed at the same time. The Egyptians most likely measured the Pyramids with a wheel, imagine if the guy the measured the opposite side had a worn wheel when he measured.....
  10. TIRES! what are the b...... no I won't start that either. Check the date code and condition of tires.... it will cost you $700 to change them out by the time all in. Don't ask how I know that........
  11. Triumph is Savage cycle Clive and they are not open on Mondays but SG is, Talk to Steph on the parts counter and tell her I sent you.... she will double the costs but will be happy I sent you
  12. Yes that is the part #. The board is held in place with the stock lens screws. The WOW is taking it from a faint glow to a christmas tree brightness on the back of the bike. From 1 light to 100 lights.... go figure.
  13. here is an idea...... can I put my 1st gen (86) mufflers on my 2nd gen (02) ?
  14. :sign yeah that: :sign yeah that:
  15. Yes the horn is factory, the exhaust as well. Wondered if someone made a smaller speaker, my bluetooth scala has very thin speakers
  16. I have 2 questions, one mechanical one communications related 1.) my 2002 Venture back fires when I let off the gas. I have done a carb sync, I think it made it worse..... Ideas? 2.) Helmet headsets.... I got two sets of J&M headsets with the bike, they were in 3/4 helmets. I wear a full face helmet when I ride, I figured I could just swap the head sets over but to my helmet but found the speakers are way too big to fit into the ear ports inside. It is like having two hockey pucks in there. Is there different sets for different helmets? OOOOPS 3.) My Right side horn stopped working suddenly..... I cannot find the second one although I think it is lower left front but the pretty chrome one no honk. I have power to it... oddly down both lines....ideas there? up front
  17. Did you want pictures of our sun and blooming flowers or of the ice and snow ?
  18. I am heading down Friday morning Via Port Angeles.
  19. Wow guys, it has been a long time now since Brad did this for those that could not do it for themselves. Brad has been given awards by Brain Injury Association of Canada as well as several local Brain Injury Societies across Canada. Brad was hired by Investors Group Canada to give motivational talks to their employees, all the monies he was given went strait into the BrainStormRide.org charity. Brad is currently at Univercity of Manitoba working on his Masters Degree in Physics, he holds a BSc currently ( an Astrophysicist ) His work for brain injury awareness has brought groups across Canada, that never knew others existed, together to help the survivors and their care givers cope with life after a brain injurry. Are we proud... yes Lori and I are very proud of Brad and all 4 of our sons. Thank you Fuzzy and others for bringing this back up front to us.... Brain Injury Awareness is part of our lives now every day. We can never repay those that helped my sister so much, so we are paying it forward as much as we can. Remember: You look sexier in a Helmet PS: he is STILL working on the book!
  20. Welllll the other guys have all been very nice to you so I can step in now...... have you seen a Doctor instead of a Mechanic? Sorry cannot help you my 02 feels like it was made for you.
  21. I just added their 100 LED tail light to my 02..... wow what a difference.
  22. Nope he is smarter than you average dummy
  23. I would say that is a man with a long cold non riding season.... my bikes are never off the road long enough to do work like that! Nice work Prairiehammer.
