  1. On the same line as what's new, scroll to the right till you get to VR Chat. 2nd to last item. clicking it should open chat in a ne windowHope this helped ya , Larry
  2. On my 05 Midnight trike I used a PCW kit. You're right about doing this upgrade now cause it's only a matter of more mileage & time before the stock clutch starts slipping. Usually between 20 & 30k. On the 09 trike I installed one of SkyDoc's kits. Bottom line both are good kits. Larry
  3. Money wise its cheaper to purchase a bike already set up. There is also the Canadian company called Tri-Wing, http://triwing.com/. They'll sell you a kit that'll be a lot cheaper than Hannigan. Hannigan as far as I know doesn't sell kits to the public, they're strictly dealer or factory installed. I had a 05 RSV with the Tri-Wing kit I installed. Put well over 30k miles on it till it got totaled. I then switched to a Hannigan conversion. Hannigan is like comparing a Cady to a standard Chevy against the Tri-Wing. Thus the higher costs. The main differences is besides being wider the Hannigan uses independent suspension where as Tri-Wing uses a solid axle. Got any other questions just ask and I and others here will gladly do what we can to help ya. Larry
  4. Thanks guys for the recommendations. Larry the adapter attaches to the bikes frame first then any atv / mc jack can be used. Currently I have one in stock. As for the eBay one its not Freestanding, nor has the improvements that that I've added. That was a copy cat modeled after my first design. Larry
  5. Hoping Bobbie is soon over this health bump on her life's road traveled. Between the Doc's and our Lord may she be back to a normal healthy Bobbie again. Prayers offered up. Larry
  6. Wishing everyone here at VR.org a safe & happy New Year. May we all (including friends and family) stay healthy & be safe while riding as much as possible. Hope to see many of y'all this coming year. Larry
  7. We had a 2011 v-6 convertible. Great gas mileage and plenty of power but then we weren't driving like we're racing everybody either. No issues with that car while we had it. Some of the members probably remember the wife driving it to MD and to the Arkansas international rally. We also had a hard top 2013 Miata. Drove that car to a couple rallies as well. Loved both cars. Each had advantages and disadvantages thou nothing major. We didn't drive either one during winter months once the first snow and salt hit the roads and parked em till spring rains washed the crap away so can say much about winter driving them. Larry
  8. Might try contacting the local high school. Might get lucky enough to get someone who actually wants to earn some $$$$
  9. Same for you & family Dave. For sure we'll get together more next summer. Larry
  10. Sorry to hear about your families accident Eck. But glad they're OK. Hold em close while you can. Larry
  11. Congratulations on the new to you car. What a wonderful Christmas present for you. I knew you had been looking at a replacement for the Traverse, happy you found one you liked. Larry
  12. Wow Carl it's tough to see a report like this. As said we are also glad no one was hurt. Hopefully your insurance company will do right by you in getting a fair settlement and a fast turn around for your buildings replacement. We'll keep you in our thoughts and prayers. Larry & Joyce
  13. Thanks for the plug guys. Haven't heard from Larry 1963 yet.
  14. Best wishes for a successful operation Jeff. Ya know there's a bunch of us east of you who won't mind at all that your white wash machine see much use if any this winter. Larry
  15. Wow Puc we're sure glad to hear Tippy is on the road to good health now. Yep it can be trying times figuring out what ails us at times. Wishing & praying you and her the very best to a healthy new year coming up. Take care and we'll hopefully see ya 'all sometime. Larry
  16. Welcome back. Since you're familiar with the Royal Stars you should know what to look for as to any potential problems. As to which of the two you'll be looking at I'd say get the one you'd feel most comfortable owning. There isn't that much of a difference in pricing unless one or the other offers even more of a deal to get it sold. Good luck on which ever one you decide on. Larry BTW: I also owned a 01 Volusia prior to getting my 05 RSV. They're good bikes but not in the touring class of ride comfort.
  17. 15 year old on a Allstate scooter then moved on to a 150 Honda Dream in 65. From there I had several other Honda's with each move going up in cc engine size. 250 cc, 305 , 450 cc's. Finally into the big bike class with a 68 650 BSA. After riding that bike a number of years I got a H-D Sportster 800, 68 kicker with a mag. Eventually the next bike was another Sportster, a 72 AMF model. The 68 was actually a better bike over the 72 was. So newer isn't always better. After getting rid of the 72 I didn't ride for a while then in 01 bought a new Suzuki Volusia 800. Mama decided she wanted to ride more but wanted something with a lot more comfort thus we chose a new 05 RSV and drove that bike till it got totaled in 12. Bought a 09 to replace that and drove it till last year when we switched to a Polaris Slingshot. Also picked up a 83 Venture between the two RSV's and still have that too. Thus my ride history in a nutshell. Larry
  18. I think its fine as is for now. Maybe a bit of site tweaking later on if you see its needed. I think this site is much more about the people & the interactions who are members now as the bikes are. Its only natural for folks to fad away from the site after switching to other branded bikes, even those who have given up riding altogether. I for one have really enjoyed this site over the years, since 05, and the members I've gotten to know, both in person and just thru this site. We try to attend as many get togethers, Meet & Eats, and rallies as they come along . Doing that we've gained many people we call friends throughout the country that we would never have met otherwise. And for that I'm thankful for this site. Larry
  19. Interested in trying new areas with old / new friends. Larry
  20. Totally agree with Carl about Ben's Motel. Last year was our first time staying there. Price was reasonable & loved that it was close by. While the Springville motel is nicer you do drive further with a bit more costs per night. Looking forward to being at WNY Rally again.
  21. Rossboyd, Puc is right about looking thru all the clues for finding the cause of a wobble. However he is wrong on the one count of it being me making fork braces. I'm not sure just who does but someone will come along soon letting you know. Sure hope you do find out what's going on as it can be frustrating chasing down problems like this at times. Good luck, Larry
  22. The son just had his replaced recently too. But he did have insurance on it so no out of pocket expense on his part. Bummer for ya Jay. Larry
  23. I hate those Scot Lock connectors. IMO they always cause more problems down the road, even when used inside a vehicle. I toss them when found. Larry
  24. I have one from a rsv that may work if interchangeable with your 97. How long does it need to be? Larry
  25. Non- vet here but for sure have y'alls back. Whether by choice or draft ALL vets have my respect. Larry
