I have never lost one. Must be all the crud up there, not that Indy is much better. They have saved my college girls a time or two as well. I like keeping them on top of the frame rail, seems to hide from elements a bit.

At least you left it running so she didn't get cold Locked my keys in car back in 80s. EVERY vehicle since, I've had a magnetic case with spare key hidden. Never has happened since.

You might be able to find some sheathing like they use when constructing a RV Carport. Might even find something on Craigslist in your area. Type RV Carport on Craigslist, you'll get some ideas. Might find an installer with slightly dented stuff. Here's a link for ideas https://www.carport.com/metal-carports/rv-carports/ Menards sells pole barns as well, maybe they have some damaged roof material?

I'd run it. The tire has been sitting in indoors, off a bike, no weight, no elements... If it was 5 years I might send it back, but 3, IMO, you'll be fine.

Whenever things act up on me, I go and clear my cache, cookies, log-out, and everything. Then a reboot of my system. That usually cleans up my problems (at least computer problems).

Sounds like I want one of each, oh decisions Is it possible to remove the trunk off the RSV and possibly add a back rest (or not) like you can with the RSTD? Even if it's a two hour job. Can the RSV be stripped of the trunk and look ok? I can not find a picture anywhere of an RSV that is trunkless. I want the ability to possible go 700 miles to visit a daughter moving out of state, but when home, I mostly do 100 mile / day backroad cruises. I think I'd like the idea of better wind protection of the RSV, along with the cassette.. lol

Might as well wipe it off and paint it with hi temp black. It'll make your bike faster Good luck. I'm waiting for the next post that says: While you're in there, you might as well ............

Did you have the infamous whine with either? My wife is not a fan of riding, she's a Safety Engineer by profession, go figure. The couple times she's been on the back, I had to have a stern conversation about rubber-necking, and all sorts of leaning antics back there.

Not at this point, I'll keep it as my hotrod

So I've been kicking around the idea of maybe adding a second Gen to my Garage. I love my 83, but it's an 83, and Before I start throwing $$$ to make it inter-state safe (all rubber, hoses, etc etc updated), I've been thinking of just adding a newer bike. I absolutely love my feet under 83, and adjusting to feet forward would definitely be a challenge. With that said, a couple questions on RSV vs RSTD. Do you guys feel much of a difference in wind between the fairing and the RSTD windshield?? I tend to like the RSTD look, but also like a fairing, and I really like my 83 fixed fairing. Also I recently read that the whine, went away in 09 ?? Opinions? Anyone that has ridden all three, I'd love to hear your pros / cons. I'm a big guy, 6'2", 275, so I like the height of my 83. Thanks

Turntable for 2006 RSV

Me too !!! :rotf::rotfl::rotf: I'd like one for my 83. I wish I could find one that allowed you to place on centerstand and move around. When I store in corner of garage in winter, on centerstand, my lift is kinda a pain to maneuver around. -
Very cool Video Puc, electric is the future, just not my cup of tea. Seriously, can you see a Hardly Gang riding Electric Bikes. :rotf:

They will have to pipe the Rumble sound in over the Radio https://www.popularmechanics.com/cars/motorcycles/a16316102/harley-davidson-confirms-first-production-electric-motorcycle/

I have a daughter at Purdue, graduates in May, offered a job at Hormel Foods in Fremont, she is moving to the west outskirts of Omaha. I'm going with her in March to canvas the area and apartment hunt, along with a plant tour. I keep hearing great stories of the area. With you not far, I'll have to trailer my Bike once she settles, and we'll go riding. That way if my 83 breaks down, you'll have parts

Oh my friend, non of us are I got a start, when I was purging his 50 years of tax folders and boxes, I had a shredder truck come to his house. I too, took my many years of taxes, receipts, credit card statements, etc and disposed. Kept 10 years back. I now have a Travel Trailer, and each spring, I purge, and make a 'To Burn' bag. Old documents burn up nicely in bonefires. Besides, I cleaned out many boxes of papers and viloa, I had more shelf space in the barn.

Over the last few years, I've gotten a new perspective on collecting stuff. As a Real Estate flipper, boy oh boy did I collect really cool stuff left behind. Hence a large storage barn filled, and my 1/2 of the garage, lol. But my new perspective came a couple years back when I moved my dad to a nursing home (mom already passed), and I had to deal with all his stuff. 85 year old man, same house 50+ years, do you get my drift. I swore after the weeks, dumpsters, and cursing it took me to sift through their stuff, make rational plans with it, donate, you name it, I swore I'd never leave that type of situation for my kids to deal with. My only point is simple. We all are collectors of very important stuff. But when it's time to say, I'll never use that again, well it's time to find it a new home. Because no-one wants to deal with it after you move to your next stage.

Congratulations Freebird, enjoy being your own boss. I did my own real-estate business while the kids grew up (wife is exec lady), now in my early 50s, a blessed man, consider myself retired (or stay at home husband, lol). I could never go back to the corporate world. Enjoy life while you have good health, and don't become a small business workaholic.

Maybe, just maybe the arrogant $$________ will consider making their product affordable for their customer. So much focus (yama included) is structured for all these bells and whistles that 'us common folks' do not want, need, or do not want to afford. Besides all those bells and whistles break, and are costly to repair. I feel for those losing their jobs in KS, hopefully a better opportunity comes their way.

Sorry to hear, sucks for sure. I believe things often happen for a reason. Turn what appears to be a bad, into a great. The USA economy is the best it's been in many years, and the future economically looks even better. In your search, look at this website, it will open your horizon to what's out there. http://www.indeed.com Good luck, your next chapter in life will be whatever you want it to be
