  1. I have had good performance with Shinkos on both the RSV and my Victory. You cant get 15k out of them but they aren't $180 each either. If you put loads of miles in a year you might want to look to like a Michelin. I got better than 15k out of both the ones I ran. The Shinkos would go about 5-7k on the rear and 12 on the front I think it was. I dont put near the miles on now I did say 8yr back. So a Michelin for me would probably be 4 or more years old before I could wear it out. On the Victory I have used also a Continental, not sure if they make a size for the RSV.

  2. Gary, I've been running the Shinko 777s on my 02. I've been happy with their performance so far. They are less expensive but don't last quite as long as some of the others. I've got about 10k on my front and it shows hardly any wear. I'm darksiding right now, but fixin to throw a matching 777 on the rear very soon.

  4. Hello all, Well I picked up a 2007 Harley you pack and decided to install. Steps taken: 2018 Harley soft tail deluxe quick release rack with sissy bar, because I had one, but they make a 2 up tour pack rack. I cut and removed the sissy bar. I removed the Yamaha quick release sissy bar, rack-backrest and removed the docking mounts, save. I mounted the Harley docking mounts with x2 long bolts into the rear bolts that hold the fender. I drilled into the fender support just behind the front hole for yamaha dock and taped, install bolts. Then I mounted the Softail setup. At this point you can use some flat steel and mount it to the HD deluxe rack, or if you buy the new 2 up Softail rack, I believe it would slip right on the added docking mounts. Install Harley tour pack and there you have it. Do at your own risk. Thanks

  5. Its usually the brand you want that is out of stock. I have a good snowmachine jacket that i use when the weather is 30 or colder and a cheaper pair of hwk armoured pants to protect the knees. The one thing i depend on is a good baklava. Keep the wind off your jawline when the windchill kicks in.

  6. Well, my Cosmic Monocular arrived today. It only took 8 days to make it the last 100 miles. Now that I can see for 30 miles, I need to find something that will allow me to read....I haven't checked it out that much yet but it appears to be clear with good magnification, worth the $50 for sure in my opinion.

  7. I've had very good luck with both the Shinko 777HD and the 230 Tourmaster. I actually liked the ride of the 230 Tourmaster better. I've tried the Nexan but the setup on my bike was not happy with that tire no mater what tire pressure I tried. I do have a 130-18" Stratoliner front wheel, HD Hagon rear shock, Sonic fork springs so I'm NOT stock in any way. I'm currently running the BFG and I think the slightly smaller diameter squats the back end of the bike a little, hence more trail in the steering, and the bike is a little more accepting of the tire.

  10. Here is an interesting aspect of all this that I just experienced. Tweeksis stator had gone to ground so I ordered up stator, regulator, gaskets, sparkplugs to get her ready for those trips around the hood.. Stator was advertised with free Priorty Mail shipping.. I got the tracking number and was following it. To fulfill the 3 day priority it had to be here Monday.. Monday was also one of Tips cataract surgery days. When we got home there was no package in the mailbox containing the stator. There was a note on my tracking number that read: NO ACCESS,, Undeliverable. Yes, our road has a barracade on it because of a washed out bridge from last years 500 year floods BUT,, USPS has been delivering on time since Head scratch... I stopped at the post office to pick up the package Tuesday but they would not even talk to me with out the tracking number (never even thought to write it down).. Went home to get it and there in the mailbox was my stator.. Bottom line,, I have a HUGE sneaking hunch that the NO ACCESS was just an excuse to keep the seller from filing a claim and getting a refund on the priority mail costs.. Scammers lol

  13. I've considered that as a "back-up" option. To get the GPS located where I'd like it using a reservoir mount would require a longer arm routed behind the phone mount. That would also limit my ability to adjust the position of the GPS to dead center if/when wanted, which is something I'd be able to do if mounting as I propose and using a short arm.

  15. Those risers are packe pretty full of wiring. There might be room for a 1/4" locking nut. Maybe.

  17. I’m not much of a believer in engine flush chemicals. I have seen truck engines end up with oil pump screens stopped up after using a flush. These were high mileage engines that probably had a lot of build up that the chemicals broke loose and sucked it into the screens, but I hesitate to use it in any engines. Call me old fashioned but regular oil/filter changes are all I do.

  19. Not too sure of USPS but I use FedEx for work and I can assure you I am beyond FedUp over the last two months especially. I generally ship overnight, it took over two weeks to get a package from Salt Lake to Denver. I shipped two day two packages from Salt Lake to Valley Forge it took over Three weeks and one showed up broken these were high dollar oscilloscope with proper packing and delicate instrument warning stickers. The only thing I seem to be able to trust is Custom Critical service.
