NO RAIN!!! DIDN’T GET WET ONCE!!! First VR get together I’ve ever gone to that I didn’t get soaked. Great roads, fun rides, lots of laughs around the campfire. Can’t wait to do it again.5 points

Just walked in the house. Between idiots, accidents and construction took 13 hours to go the 700 miles today. Had a great time looking forward to getting together again. Pictures and video to follow when I get rested up. Ron3 points

I know this is way early but I’ve been pretty bummed I couldn’t get another get together going here this year. Between my back and the wife’s knee (she had surgery last week) I just couldn’t pull it off. I looked at a different site a whole 2 miles from last years and way cheaper to rent with some campsites on-site. I’m really thinking of making it a 4-5 day event. The first few days mainly riding with Friday evening and Saturday more visiting. It’s about a 30-45 minute ride over to tour Hannigan’s Trike factory and 2 hour ride to tour the Boss Hoss trike factory. Some rides may go to Garden of the Gods in Illinois, the West Tenn Dragon down to the ferry on the way to Boss Hoss (scenic route) or a couple other ideas I have. I’ve retired since last year and she’s retiring in May so we’ll have the time to pull it off better this time. I’m thinking June 4th or 5th through the 9th. So after that long winded intro the main purpose is to gauge interest. The site is on the side of KY Lake in the federal wildlife preserve Land Between the Lakes. Pavilion with power, water, lights and restrooms. Campgrounds, lodge, cabins, and motels all within a couple miles. Stores nearby and about 20 minutes from Murray, KY where you find Walmart, parts stores, etc. Chime in to show interest in attending so I can determine if it’s feasible to go this big. I’d like to maybe see some of the Eh Team Canucks make it too.1 point

A biker leaves work one evening and thinks to himself: " It's Friday, I just got paid and it's been a long, hard week. I think I will take the long way home and clear my head." As sometimes happens, the biker pulls into his drive on Sunday afternoon. Sure enough his lady is waiting at the door for him. "What do you mean? Leaving like that without even a call. Gone all weekend long! Leaving me here! You could have been dead and I wouldn't even know where you are!" she shouted. "How would you like it if you didn't see me for a few days?" Now the biker is getting angry that she is spoiling his good mood, so he shouts back "That would be just fine by me!" Sure enough, Monday comes around and he doesn't see her. On Tuesday he still doesn't see her. On Wednesday he sees her...just a little bit out of one eye.1 point

@Freebird. Don, I am very sorry for what you must be going through on a personnel level and truly hope something can be done for you to ensure your quality of life does not get compromised more than it already has. My prayers and thoughts are with you and wish you only the best no matter what. As far you handing over the reins of a horse you raised from birth, it will definitely be a big pill for all of us that know, love and mostly respect you, to swallow. Finding someone with your convictions and dedication, to this site will not be easy. This site has always been unique and superior in so many ways and in comparison to so many other web sites, not just because of the caliber of its members but mostly because of you and your dedication to it.1 point

Some freinds and I took our annual ride up to the cabin together. Had a great time. Can't beat friends you've had since childhood. Only got caught in the rain once, lol...DOWNPOUR for about a half hour, but we dried out and went back out. Based near Sinnamahoning, travelled a lot of 2 lanes through the mountains, went back to the cabin for adult beverages and cigars. Had a nice bull elk hanging around the whole weekend, ....didn't seem to mind us at all. Already looking forward to next year.1 point

I started Venturerider.org, I don't know, maybe 15 or so years ago. It has been my baby for all these years and I've met some truly amazing people through our club. The fact is though, it may be time to pass it on. As many of you know, I have struggled with some vision issues, mostly cancer in my right eye, for many years now. My vision is now getting bad in my good eye. I am having a harder time seeing and it seems to be progressing quickly. I have an appointment yesterday and they have referred me to a retina specialist,. There is an as yet undiagnosed problem with my good eye and it doesn't look good. All that being said, I think it's probably time to find somebody to take over this site. I am looking for somebody with some website experience that understands how to keep this thing going. I am also looking for somebody who understandss and shares my values for what this site represents. If I find the right person, then I will turn it over completely. That means transferring the domain name and everything about the site. I would stay on as a member and a consultant if you want me to as long as possible. This is a huge decision for me but one that I know must be considered. My next appointment isn't until the miiddle of September but I feel that I need to get this discussion started. I had an opportunity to sell this site a few yards ago for pretty big money but made the deciosn to not do so. I still don't want to sell it and to be honest, it is no longer worth wait it once was. But I would rather give it to somebody who shares my vision of what it is. Please PM me if you are interested. I0 points
