Training Wheels for Mean Dog

Mean Dog

Recommended Posts

Well Folks I have been talking with Nancy about the purchasing of a set of training wheels for our bike! Due to my loss of strength from Chemo treatments and also in consideration of Squidley's accident while visiting here, I feel it would be a good investment. I spoke with Frog Man on the phone last night to get his imput on the Voyager Kit (Thank You) and I believe that is the way I will go. It seems a little expensive for what you get but what isn't for our favorite sport! I can always remove it if I get to ever feeling better. I would love to make more rides and and meets this year and I believe this would make that possible. I know it would ease Nancy's mind as she is afraid I will be out and drop the bike!

I don't suppose I will be able to purchase a used one anywhere so we will have to bite the bullet and get new! Just don't laugh when you see the Dog coming...........:no-no-no:

i think it would be a good idea for you. and like you say, when you get better, it can be removed, if you want to!

i think you, nancy, and all the rest of us would feel better, when you ride!

Dog it was good talking to you last night. We got a good deal on our voyager. I bought the scoot, voyager, and trailer as a package deal ebay. Some here say I stole it. After our maiden voyage to florida last year and after 3000 miles of experience the voyager is great.I have two other first gens. Having a spare bike for the twisties and solo riding is a great benefit. My concern was if the voyager would get in and out of my driveway? No problems. Peace of mind is what the voyager is all about. For stability, pay load, towing, riding two up on those week long outings, braking control, etc makes it the first bike out. Now don't get me wrong my first love is a good first gen but I'm spoiled on the voyager for towing. I haven't let momamo ride it yet. Told her I wanted to check it out first to make sure it was safe for her. She is getting mad I've had it for 6 months.:rotf::rotf::rotf:

Dog it don't matter what you ride as long as you can ride. Myself I'm taking the trike route but that's a lot more expensive than the Voyager system. And no going back to 2 wheels either if you wanted to. Either set up will take some getting used to so take your time there.

Bottom line is do what you need to do to keep riding if that's your wish. The rest will fall into place.

Check out the tow-pac insta trike it is the same thing but cheaper than the voyager.

Jeff,

I have ordered information on this set up too! Not so much because it is cheaper but it has adjustable torsion suspension. It is wider though and I have to see if it will fit in the shed with my door width. I have a dealer that will install the Voyager about 50 miles away but, it does lose 1 and 1/4" ground clearance with the Voyager kit and the Insta-trike fits into a receiver hitch with no ground clearance loss. I will try to get one or the other this February. Thanks for the info Jeff!

Mark don't forget to check out some side cars too. I was very close to ordering one of them rather than going with the tirke conversion. Same deal there as with the insta trikes kits. You can change them back anytime you see fit too.

Anyhow whatever it takes to keep you rolling.

Well, it looks like I might have to locate a used Voyager unit. I have decided to use that one! I forgot when you are put out of work that lending companies don't like you anymore. http://www.ultimatemyspace.com/i/smilies/sick/sick0004.gif I have several months to locate one before the West Virginia trip to see Frog Man and up to see my folks. I'll get one on by then some how.
