  1. been looking at the harbor freight tire changer and adapter for motorcycles. anyone got one ,and how does it work? bill:2133:
  2. I think that is the model #. Got this unit as a freebie from the previous owner. Only thing is it didn't come w/ the cartridge. Bought the cartridge and attempted to make sure it works. Manual says hit audio button until you get the the cd and you see the icon. Well I kept scrolling through it several times and I can't get it to recognize the cd changer. I am at least getting power to the cd changer as I can eject the cartridge and when I put it in I hear it cycle through the cd's. I tried searching to see if anyone had this issue before but I couldn't find anything. Any ideas? Thanks.
  3. If anyone is interested in a like new Clarion DC625 ProAudio 6 Disc CD Changer at a great price, check out my ebay listing on the link below for more info.... http://cgi.ebay.com/Clarion-DC625-ProAudio-6-Disc-CD-Changer_W0QQitemZ220261874592QQihZ012QQcategoryZ94836QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  4. Need a cd changer for your scoot? Check out this great deal below. http://cgi.ebay.com/Clarion-DC625-ProAudio-6-Disc-CD-Changer_W0QQitemZ220261874592QQihZ012QQcategoryZ94836QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  5. I sure like the looks of this thing but don't have $900.00 to spend on it. I do have the cheap Harbor Freight model that I have never used. I think I've bought tires 3 times since getting it and always end up getting lazy and taking the rims to a local shop to have them mounted. Part of the problem is that I haven't take the time to bolt down the changer. I really like this hitch mount setup and may look at building some sort of adapter like that for mine. http://www.webbikeworld.com/Motorcycle-tires/motorcycle-tire-changer/
  6. Anyone want to buy a Clarion 6CD changer. It came on my 99'RSV and I removed it. I don't listen to CD's when I ride. I will be at Freebird's Maintenance day. I can bring it along if some one wants it. but I don't want to bring it back home. It is complete with the C-Bus cable and everything to make it work on the RSV I would like $100 for it, or make me an offer. It is not doing me any good and someone might enjoy it. I will be listing it again on the classifieds if I still have it after MX day. I will only be bringing it to Don's if someone says they want it - limited space.
  7. :confused24:can anyone tell me how many pins a c bus cable has. and if a clarion dcz 625 clarion cd changer will work on a 2006 venture.
  8. I made a revision on my Harber Freight tire changer today. Was looking at NoMar tire changer site the other day and noticed they had a new clamp down for their changer which uses some small plastic spools. I then found that they sold the spools and screws for $12. Did a search for options on purchace of spools and found an article on a GL1800 forum were a guy had added these spools to his HF. So I ordered the spools and purchased 3 ea. 3" x 1-1/2" x 1/4" flat bar and taped for the screws on the 1/4" plate and then mounted them on the HF tire changer. Had to change the front tire so I tried it out and it worked great. Just a little slip but you can strap a spoke to the cross bar and take care of that. The tire no longer pops out while trying to get the tire over the rim on the first bead. No more worrying about scrathed rims using rags or thin rubber. It worked great. This is the spools. I used 2 washers under the spools so they now give plenty clearance for the disk. The screws are 5/16 x 18 . A few pics of the set up. On one pic you can see the rideon on the rim (some had ask how messy it was). Just wiped it off with a damp rag. Very little gets on the rim, see the 2 pics of the tires and all of the rideon is lined all the way around the bottom of the tire.
  9. OK -- how difficult is it going to be for me to install a CD changer on a 2000 RSV? Am getting one and was hoping the bike would be prewired for it, but apparently I have read that my hopes have been dashed. Pretty sure all cables and stuff will be included, as it came out of another RSV.
  10. Went to start the bike this morning and wouldn't you know it--completely dead, not even a dash light. I took the battery to a battery shop and they tested it....only 5 volts. They put it on a charger for a few hours and when I picked it up later it was fully charged. They told me the battery was good and something must be drawing. I re-installed the battery and checked all the circuitry and everything was okay except I found that the cd changer was drawing juice. This is the cd changer made for this bike.I can't figure out why it's doing this now. Never had a problem with it before. I have noticed that when the 6-pack is installed, I can hear it go through the motions whenever I turn the ignition on, even though the audio system is off. I just figured this was normal. Everything is hooked up as it should be and runs as it should, but why is it constantly sucking juice. It stops as soon as I disconnect the C-bus cable. When I connect it back up, it starts to draw power again even with the ignition switch off. Can anybody help with this one? P.S. I should mention this is still my original battery (2004) Also, ever since the bike was new, there's alot of clicking (1-2 sec.) whenever I turn the ignition on first thing in the morning. Is this normal? I'd appreciate any and all advice. Thanks so much.
  11. I received this coupon via e-mail. Not a bad price for the basic tire changer. You still need the motorcycle adaptor to change your bike tires. Good until 8-15-07. I found this link on how to use the tire changer with motorcycle adapter.
  12. Ok, so late last night after spending about an hour on this site I got inspired and went out to work on Cassy (thats the name of my RSV). I am trying to remove the saddle bag but I cannot figure out how to unplug the CD changer to get it out of the saddle bag. HELP! I darn-near broke the plug trying to get it off. Somebody here has to know how to do this. Also, I was messing with the CB antenna and it just lifted off of its mount. Is it supposed to do that or did I break it? Need input!!!!!!!!!!!!! (P.S. I am removing the saddle bag rails and the CD changer just in case anyone is interested in purchasing them.)
  13. What make/model changer will work on a 2005 venture? Bill
  14. Just bought the HF tire changer w/ motorcycle adaptor today, going to put some widewhites on my '06 RSV this weekend. My question ..... is there enough clearance on the HF changer to leave the brake discs on the rims or do they need to come off? I was planning on carefully working around them. I haven't taken off my wheels yet but just looking at the changer it looks like it'll be very tight fit with the rotors on the rims. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks, Larry
  15. what method do you use to remove and remount your own tires. I've seen 1 article on Harbor Freight tire changer. Is this any good? What do you use to balance them or take them to a shop? Thanks
