  1. Can anyone tell me where the clutch bleeder screw is on a first generation? My friend has one that needs worked on. Thanks a bunch
  2. I read somewhere awhile back about shortening the antennas on the Venture. The only thing I remember was that you had to cut them at even lengths. Does anyone know anything about doing this? What would you use to cut them with? What would you use to put on the top to finish it off? Is it really ok to do this? I'm just looking at the possibilities right now and wanted some input. Thanks a bunch and ride safe.

    Moving, Vr for sale

Folks, regretfully am selling my beautiful 89 VR. Downsizing and moving, so it must go. It is listed in the classifieds if anyone is interested. It is a nice bike looking for a good home. I will be checking in on you folks occasionally even after it is sold, as this place and all of you are part of me now. I couldnt stop coming here if I tried. Cant say enough what a great bunch you all are!
  5. Last year after building the bike it was running smooth but I've been wondering why it felt a little sluggish. Figured it was just the weight. After letting it sit over the winter I had a hell of a time starting it which a bunch of you gave a bunch of suggestions and with those I got it running again. Well yesterday after running a few blocks and shutting down for an hour, it didn't want to start again. So I pulled the plugs, which looked like they were soaked in oil. I cleaned them and tried again. It ran for a little bit then got really rough. Yanked plugs again, cleaned them, repeat. Pulled them a 3rd time, cleaned them and still the same thing. So finally called a buddy here in town and first thing he said was "did you swap out for hotter plugs? Don't forget, you have altitude to adjust for up here". So got a set of hotter plugs and that was it. Thing not only runs like a bat outa heck, but it's running way better than it was last year. So just a reminder, if you live at high altitude, don't forget to take into account altitude/air pressure when you are tuning.

  8. This past year has been filled with ups and downs in our family, the biggest up being the birth of our second grandchild 3 weeks ago, but seems the downs waited till now to rear their ugly heads even higher. Charlene has finally been diagnosed with spinal stenosis (narrowing of the spinal canal that causes pinched nerves causing much pain) the doctor thinks this is more of the problem than the hip or knee, hopefully she will start treatment before the 1st of the year. Then last nite my daughter called with chest pains again and again went to the ER, this time they did a bunch of tests and find the problem to be gallstones, which means surgery sometime after the first of the year................. Hopefully the New Year will be a better year here. Lots of good things to look forward to with the coming year. Hopefully after Charlene has her treatments she will be able to get back to riding with me once again, and she should be able to enjoy our non motorcycling vacation, when we go on our cruise next summer. So here is wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays..........be safe and God Bless.
  9. I picked up a bunch and I mean a BUNCH of NOS auto parts, mostly Chevy from an auctioneer who had them sitting in his warehouse for over 2 years. My problem is some of the starters, alternators and other parts aren't listed in ACDelco's web site anymore. My question is does anybody have a reference book listing the parts to number? Or could check some parts I have with a different means? Hate to let a starter worth 150.00 go for scrap prices because I don't know what it's worth. Any help will be appreciated and I will see if Santa couldn't find something in his bag for ya. Thanks, God Bless. Mike
