1200 and 1300 front brake differences??
Guest posted a topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Ijust bought some nice chrome rotor/caliper covers and fender rail for my 88 1300. These parts came off of a 1200, the caliper covers look different as the bolt holes are not the same. Looks like the fender rail will fit but how about the rotor covers? I figured they were all the same, but I think I am wrong. So what are the difference between the 1200 and 1300 front ends??? Kim -
A fellow worker has a V-Star 1300 fuel injection silver/gray for sale with only 1,300mi for 9,850.00 . So I posted it in classified for him he has no Internet at this time. Motorcycle is in excellent shape and still looks new. Reason for selling it is due to the wife not liking the seating for long trips he loves the ride but to please the wife he needs to sell it and buy another motorcycle for long trips. If your looking for a fairly new motorcycle at a good price this is the one!!! buddy

I going to replace the motor in my 84. It is starting to have problems in second gear. Second gear still works but it jumps under hard throttle. So sooner or later I'm going to put a new motor in her. I really don't have the time to tear down the motor to repair the tran's. I can replace a motor in about three days. I was wondering what range of years can I replace with?? Can a 1300 be exchanged to a 1200 frame?? I beleave after 85 they took care of the second gear problem , is this correct?? Thanks Kurt

Hope I didn't violate something by posting this here, I couldn't find a For Sale thread here.........we're all just to attached to our Royal Star Ventures to sell them! VTX 1300 Honda Service Manual>> I went through my bookcase and found this manual for a motorcycle I no longer own. The manual if free, but I'd appreciate $10 for shipping it FedEx two day. Please email deek589 AT bellsouth.NET (not "com", it's "net") Thanks. I'm going to post this same thing on some other motorcycle forums including the VTX Owners Association if I can find my old user/password........

Ran into a guy today that has an 85 VMax that he said has a rod knocking. I have an 86 crankshaft that is in good shape from a 1300. It is my understanding that the bore is the difference from the 1200 and the 1300. Does anyone know if this crank will work? I might sell him the crank, or try to buy the VMax. RandyA

As a newbie I ask basic questions, sorry if this is already answered somewhere but I could not find it easily. I have a '89 venture royale 1300, what oil should I use? I live in south dakota and do some cold weather driving but mostly drive on warmer days. thanks paru

The bore and stroke on a 1200 is 76mm X 66mm. What is a 1300? I spent the evening taking the 1300 engine apart that I have had for a long time and it don't look too good. I knew it probably had some rust in the bores because it had been left out in the rain uncovered for a while and it was froze up. I split the case and ended up taking the crank out so I could hammer the pistons to the bottom of the bore and clean the cylinder walls some before knocking them out. It looks like if I am going to use this block I will have to bore it and go with bigger pistons. I really don't think this is what I want to do. RandyA
