  2. Excellent Bob! The big secret to remaining a non-smoker is to simply not light the next cigarette. Shhh.
  3. Check that number. I think it might be JYA41V... I think the U might be a typo.

  5. Here's a good VIN Decoder http://www.cyclepedia.com/motorcycle-vin-decoder/
  6. It's an 83...
  7. I agree totally. Big Red has Longhorns and I also use the rear pegs as well as various combinations in order to shift my weight slightly to the right or left.
  8. Hi Randy, The pads may be Kevlar and what I understand is that they need to heat up to be at their best. They are popular with R6s, R1s and such for the aggressive riding style... go really fast, brake really hard. I also have read that for moderate riding/braking they are kind of lame. So maybe HH is what you need. Heather

  10. (Naw, just a slang for Harley Davidson but that was a good guess... maybe a WW1 Ace!) Navigator
  11. Mk1 Forks, anti-dive and front caliper covers and Mk1 rear caliper, not sure about the rotors. Chrome rear fender add-on is Mk1. Looks like it says YICS (kinda blurry though) on clutch cover that's Mk1, no lower fairing below radiator Mk1. Be sure to check the vin and engine numbers against the title. It is mostly Mk1 (83-85). Maybe someone got the titles mixed up. Careful...

  14. Wilz, The ones you showed for the Vmax will likely work. I used these. http://www.ebay.com/itm/361517049733?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT 4 kits about $91.99. The needle and seat are different from ours, but I'm sure they will work but need to be used together. If you wish to change out the needle and seat you will need the #61 cap, #62 oring, #35 net, filter. http://www.partzilla.com/parts/search/Yamaha/Motorcycle/1983/XVZ12TDK/CARBURETOR/parts.html
  15. This kinda come to my mind also. The proper sync sequence is: 1. Set idle speed with #2 to about 1000 rpms 2. Sync #1 to #2 Go to the other side of the bike 3. Sync #3 to #4 4. Sync #4 to #2 This brings the right side of the engine into sync with the left side. If you do it out of order it is nearly impossible to arrive at a good result. Because as you change one out of order another cylinder may compensate with an equal and opposite reaction. It is entirely possible that your problem is a result of the sync order you are attempting. If you still get no response try backing #4 off quite a bit. You may have to increase the idle to keep it running. If Bongo and I suspect correctly then you should start to see some action on #1. Then follow the above sequence. This might be a good point to re-begin your troubleshooting... "square 1" Heather
  16. Rotator cuff surgery is a walk in the park. Takes an hour or two and you're asleep. No problema! Mine was very complex involvīng the whole nine yards...cuff, several tenons, including bicep, bone spurs, bursa. But still it was no problem... I was asleep. Recovery and PT is quite a different subject altogether. Mine sucked really bad. But at least being female it was OK to scream and cry which I did a LOT! Recovery is different for each person. I know a few folks who've had it and about half said it wasn't that bad and the other half agree that it's pretty much just plain...horrible. My main recovery took about 4 months. I now have nearly complete "Range of Motion". Significantly more range than most in my age group, but it was a long time coming... perhaps a year. I wish you the best of luck and hope you're in the first half. Heather (You can just call me Cry Baby on this one)
