Cruise control switch issues -I think
mega2500 replied to Mad Dog's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Fixed mine by cleaning the pickup coil and ring that triggers the speedo signal located down at the front of the rearend were the drive shaft connects. Had a lot of road grime down there that was blocking the pickup coil from a good signal. Speedo jumped around a lot less and cruise locks on like it should. this trigger is sealed on a 2 wheel but is out in the open on a trike -

mega2500 replied to Chaharly's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Mine dose it when it is warm and on the sidestand but will change noise when I pull in the clutch Also noise is much less when bike is sitting up but again clutch lever in cuts the noise some I think it is just gear noise at slow engine speed 2003 venture 50,000 mi -

Greasing Splines
mega2500 replied to rutman's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
I was going to sell these for 29.95 $ U S but i see some of you need info now so I will let the cat out of the bag. To reinstall splines into yoke I take out inspection plug in top of shaft tube get two [2] 14" tie straps and slip them together at one end so you have a loop slip the loop in the inspection hole pushing it toward the back of the tube now with a long screwdriver or rod lift up on the yoke and pull up on the two free ends of the tie straps to cradle the yoke insert shaft into tube and into yoke add nuts and pull on one end of tiestraps to remove from the inspection hole isntall plug and you are done NC No charge -

California carbs vs. the rest oif the world...
mega2500 replied to Condor's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Just rebuilt a set of 1989 carbs that had all 4 carb vents tied together then to a smog controll and then to a tee that tied the tank vent and the canister together after all was reinstalled the bike would load up when sitting {not running} so I removed the line from the tee to the canister and extended that line off the tee below the bike to vent as all other ventures do and no more flooding when first engine is shut down still good after 1000mi so I do not think you will hurt anything but someones feelings with the Cal EPA {I could vent on this also} -
Got 14000mi on the set that were on the bike when I bought it I put 13000 of the mi on them--- some 2 up and always 5 over speed limit on gps
