OK, so due to the long winter of Yamaha withdrawal the only way to cure it all? Just bought a Yamaha V-Max, for my winter ride. V-Max 600 2 up with electric start and reverse, driver and passenger hand warmers, with nary a mark on it. Will pick it up Wednesday after I get home from work. This will GUARANTEE a speedy end to snow and winter in general. At which time I can get out the Yamaha for the rest of the year in NNY.

At my local HF I asked if there would be a shipping charge to deliver to the store and was told they have them in stock, just not on the floor. Now just trying to sell my GS 1100 so I can buy the trailer and some mandatory safety items like lights, chrome, and a stator and a regulator. And maybe some stainless exhaust pipe for adapting RK pipes.

I can live with some zo ring and seal replacement. Or even nicer is warmer temps fix it itself. I'' replace the stuff just to feel good. As for putting off joining. I just got my $12 worth with this post. Again. One small price that keeps giving and giving. I have more peace of mind now knowing it is likely something easily and cheaply fixed. I like cheap and easy,,,,,,

I went to a benefit today for one of my oldest friends. Some good food, good company, perhaps one to many beverages. (not driving) So of course the first thing I wanted to do when I got home was to start the VR in anticipation of riding soon. I had charged the battery yesterday, I thumbed the button and it started like it had been a few days instead of a few months. Had a battery light so I checked the fluid level and a cell or so was low. Had left over electrolyte so that was cured. Then I smelled it. The unmistakable smell of coolant. Sure enough, there is a small puddle forming right in front of the chin piece. Dripping from it. So, Wednesday when I come back and look at it sober, what might I be looking for? As near as my beer and whiskey affected viiso9n can see it is coming somewhere low and in front. Tuesday night I'll remove the chin piece and whatever other plastic I may need to and find it. It didn't leak at all when I parked it and now it seems to leak above idle. Cold. Hot I will certainly be able to see where it is coming from I assume.

April would depend on weather and Saturday instead of Sunday for me. I am about 3 or so hours from Sayre but have to get up at 2:30 - 3:00 a.m. on Mondays. So I can head back to Pa. on a 2 day whirlwind tour starting in Watertown NY and working my way through Allentown,Whitehall, Temple, Wyomissing, Pottstown, Royersford, Willow Grove, Broomall, Downington,Lancaster, York, Hanover, Mechanicsburgh, Harrisburg,Muncy, then right through your neighborhood into Ithaca, and back to Watertown. Running up 15 just makes me want to come back into the area on my bike. The roads I see off of 15 are just made for riding it seems.

:rotf::rotf::rotf: That little story is going to be told and re-told.

Or his Dad's money's worth actually. Incredible. "How LongHave You Owned a Car?" Mr. Allen Swift ( Springfield , MA.) received a 1928 Rolls-RoycePiccadilly-P1 Roadster from his father, brand new - as a graduation gift in 1928. He drove it up until his death last year.....at the age of 102 !!! He was the oldest living owner of a car that was purchased new. It was donated to a Springfield museum after his death. It has 1,070,000 miles on it, still runs like a Swiss watch, dead silent at any speed and is in perfect cosmetic condition. (82 years). That's approximately 13,048 miles per year (1087 per month)... 1,070,000 that's miles not kilometres!! And in a car related note. BARCELONA — Cars will soon be so linked into wireless networks they will be like giant rolling smartphones — with calling systems, streaming video, cameras and apps capable of harnessing the unprecedented trove of data vehicles will produce about themselves and the humans who drive them. The battle over who can access all this data is an awkward undercurrent amid recent announcements by car manufacturers touting their new, Internet-capable vehicle systems. ,,,, Cars have long gathered data to monitor safety and performance. But their newfound connectivity may allow a range of parties — automakers, software developers, perhaps even police officers — new access to such information, privacy advocates say. Because few U.S. laws govern these issues, consumers have little control over who can see this data and how it can be used. :thumbdown:I'm still driving a 1998 Ford Taurus and a 2004 Buick Regal. My Taurus is old enough to be semi private. For less than hte price of newer cars I may just see hwo long one can be made to last. Heck, my VR is going on 27.

Chris, I hope that civil discussions of this nature are allowed. Here's why I like to see this here. These folks aren't "gun nuts". They are like minded motorcycle, ice cream, riding, and hot dog nuts. They also have a wealth of information on various other topics. Such as this one. Although I haven't met a single one of these folks, yet, I have followed the board, been given help and advice, laughed till I cried, and so on. In short, I like it here and these folks seem like genuinely good, and smart, people. People I may want to ask about this and similar topics.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I had high hopes for Victory bikes. But over the years they have gotten ugly. No, Homely. Beaten with a Homely stick. Were I in the market right now I would have to pop into a Kawi dealer.

When I first saw the boat my interest was piqued. It's been a few years without a boat. Long enough that I had forgotten why it spent more time anchored than driven. Any vehicle that sucks a gallon every 3 minutes gets pricey to operate. A boat, by definition. A hole in the water surrounded by wood, metal, or fiberglass into which you throw most of your money.

Did someone mention Trout Run? And Rt. 15? I just drool thinking of the riding in that area. I run from 180 up 15N to 17W to 13N into Ithaca NY then back to Watertown twice a week. On any given Saturday I'm game to meet up. I have been planning on riding in that area of Pa. and it would be great to hook up with "locals". And since I have grown accustomed to getting up between 2:30 and 4:30 a.m. I could be darn near as far as Muncy in time to meet for a day ride. Motorcycles, hot dogs, ice cream and riding.

I need a Stebel chrome dual air horn ?
JohnT replied to FuzzyRSTD's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
http://screaming-banshee.com/home-hybrid?utm_expid=56050518-4 I got my "Screaming Banshee" horn here. It's a bit pricey at $110 but I like the relay that gives me regular horn unless I hold it for a bit and then get the HORN. Or should I say THEY get the horn. -
.38 Special and .357 are getting very hard to find in NY anywhere. Folks are "laying in a supply" before we have to do a background check for every purchase. I have t5o admit that I bought a few hundred more rounds than I usually have on hand because it is so hard to find now. I wonder if this isn't partly one way for the government to stimulate the economy? Send us running out to spend on ammo stimulates it for sure. While I am on the subject I will ask for an interpretation of the 7 round magazine capacity limit. Does it apply to only removable magazines? Or are my tube fed .22 rifles limited to 7 rounds as well? (NY states new law) Or my tube fed .357 Mag lever action rifle? I have been a law abiding citizen my whole life. (traffic infractions not withstanding ) Yet I have never applied for a pistol permit in NY. It can take a year to be told to reapply. Thereby starting the process, and the fees, all over again for no given reason. I am just waiting to be able to sell my home and move to a less taxing and more goverment froendly environment. In a state where I can also ride more months out of the year.

Hate to rain on a parade but don't be surprised if you only get to listen to the track that is playing when you put the tape in. At their age, when the tape hits the splice / sensor they tend to come apart. I recently tried to dub some of my old 8 tracks, but stopped after the third one did this.

Now picture running in seas like that 10 (or 100) miles from shore, in the dark, and 30 degree temps. Not sure how those folks walk,,,,,,

At certain RPM's mine sounds like George Jetson's "car". Is this like the sound you are hearing?

buddy had new fork seals installed on his (previously my) 84. It has a fork oil leak through the o rings for the anti dive. After replacing the O rings there is still a leak. Are the O rings a very particular size? Or is there anything that would cause for fork oil to leak from the anti dive? Doesn't appear warped or damaged. It's clean and smooth. Thoughts?

Custom molded seats? What a video,,,Want to take the VR there and ride the course once a day for a warm up prior to going site seeing.

Dragon Slayer, Man, I really hate to rain on a VR members parade. However Grab yourself a libation and a towel. (if you're prone to tears) Yer gonna need it when San Fran comes to town. As a Giants fan I don't have a dog in the hunt. But, San Fran can beat New England, Atlanta can't. Can't stand Tom Brady since a walk off with no hand shake after he got his @$$ kicked in a post season game. Yes, it was a one time thing but it chapped my back side. Plus, he has movie star looks, crazy talent, and is married to a $100,000,000 super model. What's not to hate? So, go San Fran. I would really like to see Harbaugh versus Harbaugh, but those are really long odds.

On an actually serious and helpful note. Same septic system for 23 years and it's been pumped twice as a precaution. And it was put in at a time that grey water did not need a separate dry well so all grey water goes through the septic. However, I use septic treatment religiously. Both tank treatment and main line cleaner. Cutting the frequency in half has not shown any signs of problem. I also treat the leach field transfer box once a year with root killer. Any tree remotely near the leach field seems to send roots to the water. I'm going to stop typing ow before I go from helpful to
