Gear oil would not be green, I agree it's coolant and that is easy enough to top off. I have changed my gear oil without removing the bag. Let me know how the painting goes, I have the same bike and I now have a scratch on the trunk. I was trying to figure out how it got there and I am pretty sure now it was a shopping cart. It was not there before my trip to MD but when I cleaned her after home it was there.

As a reminder if anyone welds on your car, truck or scoot. Unplug the cdi, have them ground on the piece to be welded and if they move, move the ground again on the piece being welded. The reason is that every day people smoke cdi's and wiring when the piece being welded seeks a ground. Once repaired clean well, prime and coat of paint.

I use maguires CLEAR PLASTIC AND VINYL WINDOW WAX, often find this in a marine shop. Maguires plastic cleaner polish works also, this is great on the rest of the bike
