Have you added headsets yet? If so, were they prepped or did you have to do alternations? Dave

I'm in for a southern Utah or western Colorado Rally in 2015! Volunteer #2

I'd love to see 2015 in Montrose or Cortez Colorado. From Montrose you can do the Million Dollar highway, Independence Pass, Silverton, Durango, Mesa Verde National Park etc. From Cortez you can still do Durango, Million Dollar Highway, Silverton (and the train), Mesa Verde National Park, and you can ride to Moab, Ut and Arches National Park and Dead Horse Point. Montrose is a little more accessible from I-70. Dave

Try your helmet in some else's bike. It sounds like you are getting out or the "beep" shouldn't be getting transmitted either. I'd guess you radio is fine but something is damaged in the helmet.

Look at the Marshall mod. You replace the one poor Yamaha antenna with two separate ones. You eliminate the splitter and improve the performance of the CB. You'll have better ability to match the antenna to the CB with an SWR meter. Good luck to you!! Dave

Tuesday afternoon we were ready to leave to Mt. Pleasant with Alan and Annie when I by luck noticed my rear tire: http://i470.photobucket.com/albums/rr70/utadventure/photobucket-52969-1374170275570_zps7620fe16.jpg I switch my gear to the Vstar 1100 and headed out. Thursday I pulled the tire and took it back to Rocky Mountain ATV/MC aka Jake Wilson. They indicated they needed to send the tire to Metzeler for warranty by they would be glad to sell me a replacement and install it.......NO. After some discussion, they replaced the tire and they will work to get the reimbursement from Metzeler. My last rear tire did the same thing but had 10500 miles on it. This tire had 2500-3000 miles when I threw a chunk. I told them to mount the Michelin Commander II instead. We'll see how the Commander does. I usually got 11000 miles on the Metzeler rear and double that on the front. Guess I better go for a break in ride when it cools down tonight.

A couple of years ago, when they were here we enjoyed the ice cream excellence of Leatherby's in Salt Lake. Last night we made a return trip to the shop: http://i470.photobucket.com/albums/rr70/utadventure/photobucket-46606-1373947255051_zps505fac16.jpg http://i470.photobucket.com/albums/rr70/utadventure/photobucket-3061-1373947309164_zpsf261b667.jpg

My understanding is that AGM batteries need to be charged slowly. It was told to use a low charge, like 2.0 amps and only charge for a couple hours and then give it a rest for 20-30 minutes and then repeat the process. I hope it works for you! Dave

Jan and I were shocked at the news when we arrived home tonight. Rest well our friend. We just recently had the privilege of getting to know Don. After selling his trailer to Alan and Annie, he made sure it was in top shape with a lot of work by Brad. He then drove 14+ hours and met up with us in Cortez last month to help us get it to Salt Lake. It left today to start it's trip to Portland. We spent some wonderful time with him talking and enjoying a great dinner. Any who didn't the chance to personally meet this great man have now missed a special moment. Until we see you again.... Just added an 1100 Classic to the stable! http://s470.photobucket.com/user/utadventure/media/2002%20Yamaha%20V%20Star%201100%20Classic/photobucket-47914-1370629722934_zps6f96ba76.jpg.html?sort=3&o=0 The bike was running mostly on one cylinder. Thanks to the VR.org! The knowledge learned here once again proved the value we gain. Checked the plug and had pretty good spark but missed every once in a while. Checked the resistance on the cap, right on spec. Cut a little off the wire, screwed the cap on again and then had a stronger spark and no misses. Rear cylinder still not running. Air cleaner was clear, pulled all of the air system off, blocked off the rear air and nothing, blocked of the front air and bike died. Not pulling air into the carb....... Pulled the carbs, all jets in the front....clear and clean. All jets in the rear........ main jet-plugged solid, pilot jet-restricted, starter jet-clear. The B44 and Seafoam had softened things up, so they cleaned pretty easily. Reassembled everything.....wala- runs just like it should - both cylinders firing! Great power and fun to ride. The knowledge learned here gave me the info and confidence to not have to pay the stealer.... :cool10:

Congrats to you both!! I think you should celebrate by touring the US!

I know the sliders are a little different between the 1200 & 1300 1st Gens. The sliders for $99.99 for a set of 4 fit the 1300 (and others) and the $17.99 individual price is for the 1200. That may be your difference... Dave -
Bob- Concrete is designed to acheive full strength at 28 days. I cures on a curve, with most mixes having 70% of their total strength at 7 days and then continuing to cure over the remaining 21 days, each day the strengthening deminishes. Dave

While meeting up with Gunboat to get the trailer for Alan & Annie, we took advantage of the chance to visit Mesa Verde N.P. Wish we had more time to hike and see some of the other sites..... http://s470.photobucket.com/user/utadventure/library/Mesa%20Verde-Cortez%20Trailer%20Trip?sort=3&page=1 Dave

Try an extractor. You likely can remove it without damaging the threads. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Well, we made it home about 1:40 this afternoon. The trailer is safely tucked away until the next leg of the trip. Dave
