When maintaining by bike, I've always tried to listen to the bike.
Thursday evening when I went to gas up the bike before our Friday/Saturday trip to southern Utah, I was used to hearing a little bit a of the rear brake rubbing but the sound changed. I decided I should take a look before we left.
When I pulled the rear caliper, the pad had worn through and was just starting to rub the metal. I had a spare set of pads and after installing them, we were ready to go.
It was great to have the rear brakes working properly as we drove through the mountains.
Glad I was listening. Had a fantastic trip, 685 miles later.
I also need to thank someone here for the tip of putting a loop in a drain line to change out the brake fluid. Did the front brakes, not bad.....did the clutch, WOW, it was dark.
I just wish I had the pictures Jan took.
