  1. I went for a nice long ride today and my new J&M's provided me with good quality sound, allowed me to chat with a few truckers, and definetly made the time go by much faster. I love to listen to music and now I have the best of both worlds........my music, and being on the bike
  2. NO krommeworks but will have a set of RK mufflers.
  3. We looked at good mp3 players tonight. I am going to go ahead and install an mp3 on the bars as well. I may even decide after a short time I do not want the changer in the way at all.
  4. Yep that was one of the first things I remember thinking,,,,,thats a stupid spot for that changer Thats how my cable got tore up apparently from the origional owner, or dealership removing it for whatever reason and not using the relaease for the lock where the electrical plug goes in. Probably if I didnt like the cd sounds wuality so much Id never had moved it, just eleminated it, but i do like a good cd and it gives me tons of hours of music at the ready.
  5. What would be the date information you are needing??
  6. Yep yep pending something being unhooked or broke the setting may be on front speakers. Their is a setting that allows front or rear or both. Could be a simple setting adjustment. It all happens from the control on the left side by the grip. Also your rear passenger, according to the great folks here, will love you for checking out this little modification. My cable ir ordered to do this to our bike. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=18565&highlight=passenger+headset+plug
  7. By the way just search clarion dc625 cd changer extension cable to find info on the proper extension cable.
  8. Be sure to read through the operators manual as the headsets have seperate volume control and they have to be "told" to put the sound through them instead of the bikes speakers. Just as easy as pushing a button or two. Manual shows you all about it
  9. royal pain in the you know what. BUT................one of the first thing I found that was a total inconvenience was loading the cd changer. Wife and I with owning the bar and doing our own music have tons of cd's and I simply like the sound of a good cd. So in all my wisdon I thought the changer would look really goos standing up in the truck. 4 hours later its done and definetly not bragging but I really think it looks good I had an old cd changer laying in the shop that was junk, but as you know some people, namely me, keep everything cause you never know when you will need it. So with that being said the cord was quite long, and conveniently the plug had the same pin design. So I cut enough of it off so I had plenty to add and started in. NOW with that being said I DO NOT recommend anyone trying this unless you like to put yourself through hell like I do. They sell 13 pin extension cables, but for some reason my cable was broke already so I did not have anything to loose. First worked on mounting. I used gutter guard for a mounting base for 2 reasons, its nice and sturdy, and I had it. First remove the piece in the truck where the little storage pouch is, its held with 8 push pins, then I removed the pouch from it leaving me with this. I used the material as a templete. http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a1dc34b3127ccefc0b6215823d00000030O08AZtmjJo0aOAe3nws/cC/f%3D0/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D550/ry%3D400/ This little storage pouch is just stitched on, utility knife cured that. http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a1dc34b3127ccefc0b81cb433a00000030O08AZtmjJo0aOAe3nws/cC/f%3D0/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D550/ry%3D400/ Had to remove this "bump" from the OEM mounting bracket. http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a1dc34b3127ccefc0bc3ee433e00000030O08AZtmjJo0aOAe3nws/cC/f%3D0/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D550/ry%3D400/ Leaving me with my cut piece of gutter guard and bracket. A Little flat black touched things up. http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a1dc34b3127ccefc0a6cf923aa00000030O08AZtmjJo0aOAe3nws/cC/f%3D0/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D550/ry%3D400/ Now then these changers have to have a setting changed to go from laying down (horizontal) to standing up (vertical) so it had to come out of the rubber insulator. I had absolutly no choice but cut the rubber, but no worries it look great now. Here is the adjustment that slides from H to V on both sides of changer http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a1dc34b3127ccefc0bbd8ac25500000030O08AZtmjJo0aOAe3nws/cC/f%3D0/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D550/ry%3D400/ Mounted the bracket to the gutter guard through the piece I removed that pouch from. http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a1dc34b3127ccefc0bcb6c43b800000030O08AZtmjJo0aOAe3nws/cC/f%3D0/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D550/ry%3D400/ When I got done I wound up with this. The INSIDE 4 holes I replaced the push pins with 3/16" aluminum pop rivets for added stability. http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a1dc34b3127ccefc0b8636035c00000030O08AZtmjJo0aOAe3nws/cC/f%3D0/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D550/ry%3D400/ http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a1dc34b3127ccefc0bbb85c25900000030O08AZtmjJo0aOAe3nws/cC/f%3D0/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D550/ry%3D400/ Connect a few wires. Some are shielded, some have to be isolated. This is why Id recommend buying one. http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a1dc34b3127ccefc0bcdc1431600000030O08AZtmjJo0aOAe3nws/cC/f%3D0/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D550/ry%3D400/ But I have the shielding wrap. a good soldering pencil, and a ton of patience and wound up with this http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a1dc34b3127ccefc0ade9e239400000030O08AZtmjJo0aOAe3nws/cC/f%3D0/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D550/ry%3D400/ Now I have a nice empty side compartment that looks huge with the changer out of there. I put some RTV on the bolt that held the changer in place and threaded it back in just to tighten things up. http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a1dc34b3127ccefc0b05c4c24700000030O08AZtmjJo0aOAe3nws/cC/f%3D0/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D550/ry%3D400/ Now I have the grommet with no wire in the side bag where the changer wire entered it, thats going to be where I install a power outlet since the hole is the perfect size, and the battery is really close.....

  12. First time was to inspect and order stuff to change the dash light color. Second time (today) is to access the clear lower covers as I am spraying them with lense tent. BTW they are looking really good. The hard part is waiting for the "tack" time between coats for wetsanding.
  13. Seems like everything I want to involves SPLIT then work... LOL
  14. Yes the J&M sets. Very high quality by design. I plugged them in and sound qality is awesome. I am impressed for the money I spent.
  15. Splitting the front fairing Less then a week owned, second time I had it apart. Glad its easy.....
  16. Ordered my new headsets on the 11th. They were here today Place an order late friday via internet after hours and get the items on a Tuesday morning is very impressive. Nice looking headsets as well. Cannot wait to use them.
  17. Yep and have a spot to live in it already picked out cause she was the one who would jump off when we rode, come around, unlock door, and push button to let me in. BUT........if she was in the house and I started honking to get the door opened she prolly come and kick me and the bike over....
  18. I seen that, got all excited, then wife reminded me with all our snow days the kids are still in school Post a ride!! get a game plan together, route, place to eat, set a date and Post it.... Members will come out of the wood work, great way to get to meet folks and alwayalot of fun!! That I can do.
  19. Had all intentins of gutting it and using new wiring from the outlet to the battery. I just wanted a factory looking plug. Went to parts store and found universal, ugly looking plugs. The OEM outlet with the nice rubber cover was what I was after. I am using a stereo amp inline fuse so voltage drop should not be an issue. This is nothing I would try to charge the battery from. Just something to plug in while it sits in the garage.
  20. I may not have been real clear...... I am installing the power outlet to be used as a power source wired directly to the batter, but it will also be my plug in for the battery maintainer. Rather then hard wire a maintainer (tender) plug that get used just for keeping the battery at full song, figured Id have a usefull plug thats multi purpose.
  21. Thank you. I have spent countless hours on here so far and just need direction from time to time. Much appreciated
  22. I have a used, from ebay oem power outlet coming. My plans are to find a nice, clean spot and wire it directly (FUSED) to battery for 2 purposes. I will use it for the obvious such as cell charger or whatever, but my second thought is to use it for my maintainer plug. Dual purpose outlet. Thoughts?? Suggestions?? I have a spot figured out already, and have the maintainer.
  23. Im in North East Missouri and have a great interest in making some trips to rallys, or whatever that the wife and I can enjoy. Where are these meets located at? How can I keep up with them. Hopeing to find events within a few hundred miles.
  24. Im showing that to the wife
  25. The 09 RSV I recently bought had origionally been listed on ebay. I had not seen that listing and was not aware it had been listed. I found it on the dealerships listing as the origional owner traded it on a new Goldwing. Exrsa1 notified me seen the listing on ebay and actually sent me a link to it. I emailed the guy who owned it since the listing showed some extra "goodies" that went with it. HE STILL HAS THEM !!!!!!! 2 other windshields. A short, med then the one that on it now. The origional tires with 1,000 miles on them. Repair manual, Road king pipes with the mounting brackets. Factory air cleaner covers and replacement air filters. We made arrangments for me to get the spare items, and I am returning to him his garage door opener part that is hooked into the headlight which he had forgotten about. What a great site and great people like exrsa1 really make it what it is.
