  1. Was a beautiful weekend here and I spent most of it working on my 99 that I have neglected for too long, but I did get a ride in on the Wing.
  2. I was very bad and let my rear brake pads go almost to the metal; while I was cleaning the calipers up I noticed little loops of rubber sticking out. The calipers work fine; however, I think it might be in my best interest to rebuild them. What do y'all think?
  3. Ordered new tires for my Venture online since they were considerably cheaper and newer than I could get locally, I took my tires and rims to the dealer and they said it would be $40.00 a wheel to change the tires, plus disposal fee. I get a text when they are done, when I pick the tires up, they give me an invoice for $77.00, I don't question the deal. I then go the parts department to get front brake pads, they tell me $54.00 a piece, I did not look then up beforehand, so I just say okay, but when I go to the cashier to pay, she says $80.47 cents, I have to ask if that's right twice. I looked up the prices afterwards and the brake pad price is about what I could have gotten online, but the tire mounting was a great deal in my opinion, so I think the dealer needs a new calculator.
  4. Self Riding?
  5. I noticed today that I have a large amount of raw video footage that I am doing nothing with and was curious how many put their videos online and what editing software you use? If you put your videos online, share your channel if you are so inclined.
  6. Beyond words
  7. Sending out prayers and hope all that were impacted are safe and dry. I spent the weekend in Southwest Va and the amount of destruction in the mountains from the hurricane is mind boggling. The Asheville east KOA we stayed in back in August is in Swannanoa is pretty much washed away along with most of the town. This storm made a big swath from the Big Bend of Florida all the way to the mountains.
  8. Looks a little big to pull behind the bike, even for a Goldwing.
  9. Cool beans, was a pleasure talking to you as well, us Venture riders have to stick together.
  10. Thanks, I am going to say that your stator connector is the white one hiding behind your fuel pump with the yellow sleeve, I had to take out the battery box to get to mine however it's not required if you do some digging. Here is an article that may help. The Venturers - Yamaha Venture Technical Support Library
  11. Sounds like the rectifier, however, make sure you have continuity to the battery and ground from the rectifier, also inspect the connectors really well. The R/R connector and the stator connector under the battery box are usually the weak points.
  12. A friend I grew up with called me before Labor Day saying he wanted to meet up and ride, we meet up in central Ga and wound up riding to Apalachicola Florida to almost Clearwater then up to Valdosta Ga before splitting off and going our separate ways. Have not ridden that many miles in that short of a time in a long while.
  13. I might bite at that price however, check the rubber. The last one I bought with low miles that old I had to replace all of the rubber, fuel lines, tires, brake, clutch lines etc.
