  1. Almost every small engine repair guy has an inventory of scrap lawn tractors. Check a few of them and see if they might have some in better condition
  2. Funny...venture valves do look beefier...you'ld expect the other way around!
  3. Would it be possible to do a side be side pic of the valves? Im assuming the vmax are larger??? just for comparison sake
  4. What Kroc said. My wife had crystals and all they had her do is a few positions I think it was laying on her back with her head twisted as far as possible on way then the other...but I'm not sure...it was a while ago. but it fixed her vertigo immediately!
  5. No! Forget what those guys are saying! Just give up on it. Pack those vmax parts in a strong box and send them to me! :smile5::Avatars_Gee_George: Really I think it totally depends on you. Do you want to get in that deep? If you go there then you are into replacing bearings and who knows what else. You said this was a vacation project ...how much vacation do you have? Also...$$$$$$ I would be tempted to just switch heads. It would only mean loosing AZZI for a few days.
  6. When I pulled mine out I chewed it up a little with players. but that's all you need...a pair of wide flat plyers. The video shows a pair he welded small plates onto to widen and flatten the grip. It is a friction fit once the pin is out. again...in the video he suggests getting new ones...but I don't see the value. New o-rings sure...but the whole thing?
  7. I'm planning on doing the same thing on my 83...and right now I have my 88 apart doing valves on it. They both had the 2 springs...inner and outer. We should compare notes as we do it...although I'm a lot slower due to time restraints. Did you get the vmax heads with valves and cams in? All I have found are individual components You might consider getting the video on re-assembling the vmax motor....I learned a lot....things I never would know like Colour markings on valve springs
  8. Things must be improving for you to even consider going! Really glad to hear it. Not too long ago it would have been a straight up "no"
  9. Uhhh....thanks...but heads are on my bench...so water won't work. 😳
  10. I see you can buy spray cans of "combustion chamber" cleaner....$$$$$ so what is a home brew that's cheaper and affective. Im finally getting back to replacing the heads so I figure I may as well polish things up a bit while I'm in there. I'm going to Lapp the valves too
  11. I don't think the boss would limit the number of words...but maybe the number of emoticons ???:thumbsup: :mugshot::mugshot::240:
  12. Very pretty. Good for the ego..."we're #1 "
  13. I used to own a barter exchange franchise and one of the main functions was to help members trade goods and services with other members. hence. "Trader" At work I was also known as "Thumper" because of being one of Jehovah's Witnesses...but that was taken
  14. OK! OK! nag...nag...nag I know this place is like a family but I already HAVE a wife:smile5: Here's a couple of shots. Sorry Dan....it's red. Its pretty dirty and most of the plastic was in the back of the car. The vin number is correct according to the ownership but I can check the bike later. I bought the trailer from Swifty?? ( Dave Fast...former member) about 2 years ago but it this is the first time I used it. About 6 hour drive each way (plus stops) and it worked beautifully. It collapses down and could be stored in a broom closet!
  15. Well I went and did it again! Yesterday I took 14 hours door to door (return) and picked up a '84 standard the plastic is a bit rough but it has good tires no radio or class but it's got a strong engine. He said he couldn't get it into first so I think I just need to fix the shift sequence. He said the carbs were "professionally cleaned" before storing with stabil in the gas. I only paid $350 plus about $100 in gas so for $450 (Canadian) I got a bike that might even see the road again. If not it's worth a lot more than that for parts. VIN JYA41U003EA000710
  16. My '88 just flipped over no problem! wire comes from left side...when sitting on bike. All I had to do was trim the tab so I could get it far eenough forward to fit under the false tank. when I moved mine I had the plastic all off and , I can't remember, but maybe the air box too
  17. Well you could but it would be a much longer trip and require water wings
  18. Evan's incident made me think what would happen if it happened to me. I know in his case they will chase the Pick-up driver's insurances seeing as it was their fault but what if it was my fault? or a single vehicle accident? I'm with Allstate and I was told they will not offer fire/theft or collision on an old bike. Last year I paid $540 per year for liability coverage only....as an addition to my car insurance so that might have helped lower the price. These questions are for our ONTARIO CANADA members only. What coverage do you have? Who with? How much per year?
  19. Hey Evan, good to hear you are ok! We don't bounce as good as we used to!
  20. I thought maybe the nut that connects the handlebars to the seat!
  21. Did you know that 87.39% of all statistics are made up? RELOCATE!!!!!!.....its just so worth it.
  22. Years ago in the chopper days to rake the front end we just cut the frame behind the neck, bent it out a few degrees and rewelded. So what are the rake kits I see people install to allow easier turning on trikes. I'm trying to decide if I want to build a trike from scratch or just throw a Voyager kit on mine. $$$ matter
  23. Still a newbie...signed up in May 2010 cost to date...$72 plus savings...$ Thousands Friends, smiles and chuckles.....priceless
