  1. I have been trying to fill Styrofoam cups with the bad gas all day, but the cups bottoms keep falling out before I can get to the targets. Any suggestions? Bad cups maybe? Really was hoping to blow some cups up!!!
  2. I drained old gas from my RSV tank a few weeks ago. Where do you dispose of old gas? Thanks, Steve
  3. My wife and I both have these gloves from Cabelas. They were $99.00 on Black Friday online and in the store. We also bought the heated socks. I rode from Kansas City to DFW with snow and they worked great. http://www.cabelas.com/product/cabela-s-men-s-heated-performance-pinnacle-glove-with-gore-tex-174-and-primaloft-174-/1879005.uts?Ntk=AllProducts&searchPath=%2Fcatalog%2Fsearch.cmd%3Fform_state%3DsearchForm%26N%3D0%26fsch%3Dtrue%26Ntk%3DAllProducts%26Ntt%3Dheated%252Bgloves%26x%3D10%26y%3D6%26WTz_l%3DHeader%253BSearch-All%252BProducts&Ntt=heated+gloves
  4. Thanks so much. I did buy a new battery. It was good to have the extra battery. I kept both charged at campground stops. Prior to buying the battery I was charging at fuel stops as needed. The service station at Old Faithful even let me spend the night in their outdoor service bays recharging one night. The guys there were extremely helpful.
  5. I have a 2009 RSV with MTC Voyager And Harbor Freight Trailer in tow. Just got home on Monday from a ride to Glacier National Park, Yellowstone and Grand Tetons. While on the journey I had electrical problems. I wired in a multi meter to the battery to try and help troubleshoot the problem. I would start off with a charged battery each day with 13.5 volts or better. While running, the charging system appeared to be producing 13.5 - 14.5 output. I also disconnected the battery with the engine running and isolating the charging system and still had 12 - 14 volts. Put loads on and no load. Tried checking the rectifier/regulator but I could not get the second 10mm bolt out because of a lack of specific tool 1/4 inch ratchet. The problem did appear to be intermittent. When the bike would cut off it seemed like it was always after a hard climb. Downshifting made no difference. When the bike would die it was similar to running out of gas. It would have a voltage of 11. 3 or so. It was like something was causing an excessive draw on the system then going to the battery for the excess. It was as warm as 96 degrees and I only heard the fan come on once the entire trip and that was after climbing to the summit at Glacier. Could the fan be the culprit with excess amp draw? My clutch was acting up also. However, it was only acting up after climbing. By the time I would get to the top of a long climb the clutch lever had no resistance to it at all. The clutch fluid was a little darker than the brake fluid. I would get back to flat driving and no issues at all with the clutch. Any help would greatly be appreciated. Steve
  6. I was very excited to install a salt water system about 5 years ago. The biggest plus is the quality of the water of the skin. Costs for me are about the same. You have an initial outlay to convert to salt that is expensive. For the next few years the costs are not too bad. However, there are parts/components of the system that are expensive to replace. For example my system has a mineral filter that should be replaced every 6 months. the filter is $140.00. There is another component (electrode) that is $700.00 that gets replaced every 3-5 years. They say they have a lifetime warranty. The catch is you have to change the filter every 6 months. Mine is bad right now. The company customer technical support is outstanding. Here is a link to the system I have. http://www.zodiacpoolsystems.ca/e/DuoClear/index.asp The other con I have is that I have to seal my beautiful stamped concrete around my pool more frequently because of the salt damage. If I were you I would contact a few pool service companies in your area and get their opinions.
  7. I put this in the fairing. http://www.mixitproducts.com/mixit2.html Steve
  8. I purchased the lights from the VR classifieds for $200.00.
  9. Added a washer to bring the lights a hair away from the calipers. Apparently the right front was pushing the caliper. Everything is good now. Just couldn't tell last night in the poor lighting and with old eyes. Thanks, Steve
  10. Just installed motolights on front caliper now have no front brakes. Lever is extremely soft. Brake lights do work. Any ideas? Steve
  11. The speed limit was 70 on the stretch I was on. I was driving at the speed (55) that seemed appropriate for the conditions. The bottom line was the truck driver could not see me. He never budged from the right lane until he saw my buddy who was in front of me on the well lit HD Ultra Classic. He then signaled and went into the left lane to pass. I assume my bike was throwing up a little mist and obscuring the tail light. I am not complaining about the trucker. Just looking for the solution to my poor lighting situation. Thanks for all the great responses. Steve
  12. I was riding my 2009 RSV South on I-35 outside of Norman OK this morning. It was before sunrise and raining when I came within a couple of feet of getting hit by a gravel hauler. I was in the right lane going 55mph when I saw this truck closing on me from the rear pretty fast (70-75mph est.) I kept waiting on him to change lanes and he did not. At the last second I went over to the right shoulder. I came close to losing it. My friend was in front of me on a very well lit HD Ultra. The truck changed lanes and went around him. So, I realize I need some additonal lighting. I turned on my hazards after that until I got out of the rain. Has anyone installed the Diamond R light Bar? Are you satisfied with it? I have moto-lights for the front but have not installed them yet. Thanks, Steve
  13. I am retired USAF and have Tri-Care Prime $12 co-pays, my premium yearly is $460.00 or $115.00 a quarter for the family. I had Quadruple Bypass in April and my part of the entire expense was $400.00. I was very satisfied with that charge. Steve
  14. I am in the process of installing Polk speakers. For those of you that have done this mod, how did you connect the speakers to the existing speaker wires? Solder etc.... Thanks, Steve
  15. What kind of lights did you use on the calipers? How did you mount them? Thanks, Steve
  16. Hi Folks I am new to the forum and just bought a 2009 RSV-S today. I am trying to integrate my GPS, Passport 8500 Radar Detector and XM into the aux input so that I can hear them over the bikes stereo system. I am not using a headset nor do I have bluetooth. Do I need a box like Mix-It to make this application work? Thanks for any inputs this is an awesome forum. Steve
