  1. Although I can't see what your doing, or the amount of space you've got to work with, If red Loctite was used, your probably going to have to use heat to get it loose. I work with bulldozer hydraulics that are loctited and have to use and acetylene torch to heat the nuts and turn while they are hot. you'd have to make sure you wash area down (dawn and water) to get rid of flammables have a fan or well ventilated area I' start with a electric heat gun from HF and get that area good and hot. If that doesn't work map gas, or, acetylene... You can use slow running water hose and wet rag to keep aluminum parts cool ... if you get the head of a bolt red hot you will have to quench it with a wet rag (head only) or it will deform. You want to heat bolt only If that's possible... As your dealing with aluminum ... make sure you take baby steps (don't nuke it)lol get a helper... one to cool and one to turn the wrenches... Good luck... replace bolt with a new one when you get it out and apply antiseize...
  2. Your only as old as you feel, although it just might hamper ones ability to answer PMs Suppose to hit 70 Sunday.... I can assure you ..... I won't be trimming Bushes...LOL
  3. KBB says $5200 low retail - $7600 average retail. no bling... depends on what you think someone is willing to pay for bling? and those prices are retail... But since you ask for specific price...Thinking some where closer to 6500-7000 based on what these machines have been going for, unless of course you are a dealer.
  4. If I were to take a wild ass guess... it probably started in the North bound lane(s) That section of road is always backed up. The reason it backs up is, when you cross the bridge over I-81 it goes to a one lane road to merge into I-81/I-77 which is ludicrious! The people in Va. have known about the problem for years and have done nothing about it. That and people not being courteous, pretty much assures a backup... Have seen it backed up 30+ miles or so...
  5. Sooner or later, everything we do in life, catches up to us. Just make sure what your doing, is worth it...
  6. YUp! a dead battery for me twice! when you put the kickstand down it just kills the engine. Switch off is only way to turn everything off...err... if every things wired correctly... When I haul someone, its switch off, kickstand down, set feet and inform passenger they can dismount.
  7. So sorry to hear that. She will be in Penny and my thoughts and prayers.
  8. Very good question. Glad you posted. Comeon June!
  9. Would own a Goldwing properly equipped, but all those options lumped into four packages turn me off... Now the CB, Airbag and ABS... they should be standard equipment! Not an option STANDARD EQUIPTMENT... A touring bike needs certain amenities.... GPS, xmradio and the like aren't so they should be independent options. I guess I could possibly see someone not wanting the CB, so... that could actually be left as an option as well, but after having one, I wouldn't be without on a Touring bike... Agree with the money grubbing on Hondas part... Safety should always be first ! Maybe the new RSV will include the airbag and ABS as standard, FOR THE 2014'S ? GUESS THEY'RE ALL MONEY GRUBBERS...lol
  10. No brainer...ABS brakes would be great on our bikes.... As far as "only 60-65% would purchase another Yamaha"... I must be in the majority.. Been buying yamahas since I was 16. Have no intention of buying a Harley, BMW.... Would own a Goldwing properly equipped, but all those options lumped into four packages turn me off... Now the CB, Airbag and ABS... they should be standard equipment!
  11. Ha... tell him your starting to have back problems from getting knocked over in the crash...
  12. agree with getting an attorney... then get your own contractor and see what his price is. as I know your pretty handy with tools you may just want to do yourself.
  13. Personally, I'd do the 50/50 acetone/ATF overnight as was suggested and the next day run it for at least 15 min till it's good and hot... then use a hand ratchet and work back and forth slowly but surely and adding that mix or pkblaster as necessary. THE KEY IS TO GET IT HOT... just like oxygen sensors on a car they come off easily when pipes are red hot... You could also take an ice cube from your ice maker and touch base of plug... it will shrink ever so slightly but just might make the difference... just my 2 cents...
  14. Just read this. He will be in Penny and my thoughts and prayers...
  15. Happy birthday Kenny.. Are you doin Vogel this year?
  16. I'd love to have a Bushtec for my trip out west ... Pm me if anyone wants to part with theirs.. Currently, there's a harley painted bushtec (white with red stripes) on ebay for a buy it now price of $3500.
  17. Lookin Good! Was experienting with the bike a few weeks ago... The stock handlebars are extreemey close to the tank when turned from left to right... how did you over come this? Risers,or,did you move the pods rearward...which is what i was leaning towards.... Inquiring minds want to know...LOL
  18. The ethanol gas is good for about 2 mos compared to 6 mos of reg gas. As it attracts water its not a good idea to store in your bike for long periods of time +2mos. That being said I've been running it in my bike and have never had a problem in 4 years. I never put it away for the night without topping it off (can't attract water if there is no room for it). Guess its something that was drilled into me from my piloting days... 'Never put and aircraft away with less than a full tank!" For engines that i know are going to sit awhile i use non-ethanol with stabil and after 6 mos of sitting they will fire right up. Symptoms: varnished carbs, deteriotated internal carb body "white powder" (water is not friends with aluminum) ... LOL
  19. First time I shot my .44 mag Super BlackHawk, I tried to control the recoil... My wrist was sore for a couple weeks....
  20. Sleadhead, A normal .50 cal is for pussies...LOL Check this out: http://www.popularmechanics.com/outdoors/recreation/1277336 Now a 50 cal MAGNUM... Even Clint Eastwood would lust over "Go ahead PUNK, make my Year!"
  21. Buy another antique?
  22. Knowledge and know how aces all others... Theres a reason why your getting paid union wages(and no one else) and I'm doubting that it's because you kiss ass...lol Good Luck in your new job!...
  23. My wife lost it when the pants fell down... LOL Without making this political.... I find it hard to believe Joe Bidens wife is lacking protection in any way shape or form. Also, shotguns are for hunting, not protection otherwise our soldiers would have been issued a shotgun instead of a M16... Wake up! WallMart: Last 3 weeks running ... no shells only hand gun caliber was 1 box of .45
  24. Ya can't take it with ya.... Just make sure you get out there and ride.... It'll make it all worth while. While not a "Bling" believer, I do spend money on what protects my hide and my ride... Like my Shoei helmets and tourmaster Gear... ENJOY! As far as Rain gear... It's ok, to get you to safe haven... Personally don't think it's wise to ride in the rain for long periods of time....
  25. Thanks Bubber, been a long time! Haven't seen you since the Cody International Rally... Going to try it on a brand new chain saw blade that got wet and basically rusted fast 20 or so links... been trying PKBlaster for 2 months and it isnt doing squat... as far as I can tell... Keep up those brain storms buddy...
