  1. Did mine last year. Ann Arbor Michigan to Knoxville Tenn and back. Round trip from was 1065 miles. Left at 7am on a Saturday morning, had dinner in Knoxville and made it home at 4:45am Sunday morning. No sleep, just a nice long ride for dinner. I want to get a Bun Burner 1500 together for next year. Max of 4 riders. Too many and you end up waiting on someone and won't make the time. Have fun, I enjoyed doing mine.
  2. My wife has one on her Shadow. Backrest is removable. Just pull it out. Maybe an adjustment inside the seat, contact the manufacturer.
  3. Not a fan of the fairing at all. I think the Chief Vintage is a better looking bike. Needs work in my opinion. Price is much better than before, but the styling needs work.
  4. When you need stainless metric screws, go to a hardware store and look for the them there in the plastic pull out bins. Small 6mm screws usually are about .60 each.
  5. Don't mess with "THE BOSS" people!!! Awesome come back boss.
  6. We have had a lot of rain here in Michigan. Plus, it was in the mid 40's in the early morning on my way into work all the way into the middle of June. I don't mind the cool temps, but I have an hour ride to work, so by the time I get there I was getting pretty chilled. It was 48 degree when I left for work at 5am this morning! Supposed to rain later tomorrow. I don't mind getting wet on the way home, but on the freeway I have to take, it get pretty nuts when it's wet out, so I try not to ride to work when they are calling for the wet stuff.
  7. I have a question. In your pics on photobucket, there is a pic of what looks like a restaurant under a cliff. Where is that?
  8. Pinstrip is available, but very pricey. Someone backed over my front fender with a truck at my previous employer (I believe he was the one) and just for the pinstripe for the fender is $127. I would check out 3M and find a comparable stripe. I did this for my trailer when I painted it to match the my 07. I think I paid less than $30 for a whole role which is enough to do 2 bikes atleast. You can get something close but it won't be exact. Hit their website.
  9. I wish all my friends here safe travels and have an awesome time!
  10. For $8500, I will fly out there and ride it home!!!
  11. Right now, 55 miles each way. In another week, it will be 32 miles each way.
  12. I took the battery out today. Never had it out before. It is a Deka, but as best as I can make out the number is as follows FTX2O then the rest of the number is gone.
  13. Well, "IF" I go with the Deka, there is a dealer not too far from where I work, so I would just swing by there. The WallyWorld battery is actually manufactured by Yuasa.
  14. I went to Menards and bought a sheet of black abs plastic. I made a posterboard template of the backing of the bags (Kuryakan) with an extension to the windshield bolts. I mounted the bags to that and just bought a little longer bolt for the windshield. I refuse to drill into a windshield, especially my brand new dark smoke.
  15. Does anyone know about or have used the Adventure Power battery? My original died in the 07 and the stealer wants $115 for a Yuasa. WallyMart want $82 for an Everstart (have had those in my cars, not a bad battery) and these Adventure Power Batteries are on Fleabay with free shipping. Just wondered if anyone has used these.
  16. Yeah and try and drive that camaro in the snow.
  17. Took a pretty good job offer late yesterday. Feels good to be wanted.
  18. Thank you all for the kind words. Makes a guy feel good. Jay, yes it is closer to home...........about a mile and a half closer!! DOH!! Still have the I-696 ride. I did an interview at M-59 and Crooks yesterday. Pretty cool job, ride would have been just as far but alot less traffic, but I think the one I took is a better deal.........I hope!
  19. Well, as some of you may know, I lost my job on Monday. Layed off. We had to cancel our trip to Key West. We were supposed to leave Saturday Morning. Well, I have had 2 interviews for 2 differant companies so far this week and another one still to go. I got a pretty doggone good offer at a mold shop for a designers position today and I took them up on it. I am going to see what the third one offers. But I start on July 1st. Seems like it's going to be steady hours too. None of this not knowing what time I am working to. So hopefully this will be the place I retire from in 17 years. Doubt it, but hopefully.
  20. I went to work Monday and got layed off. Vacation to the Keys is now cancelled. Getting a job is more important. The interview is close to the other place so the "commute" may still happen. Not upset about loosing that particular job. It was not a good place to work. I am pi$$ed that we had to cancel our vacation. But that's life.
  21. Got a job interview tomorrow as a designer in a mold shop. Hopefully it works out and steady hours. This up and down stuff is for the birds.
  22. Circuit board ia an awesome idea.
  23. Good choice.
  24. Jeff, if it was me, I would still be along side the road. I can wire a house with no problem, but tracking down gremlins and by-passing things like you did, I just do not have the know how. I would start with the kill switch and go from there. It is odd that after a certain distance, almost like clockwork, it would start to act up. Keep us all updated as to your progress and findings.
  25. I have had this bad hankering to build a custom bagger. 26" front tire, a little more rake on the forks, stretched rear fender and bags. Thinking the Kawasaki Vaquero would be a sweet ride to do. Lack of funds tho !!
