  1. What they said! Nothing more serious than a wor4n plug, but check the surface where the plug seals for aqny crud/corrosion and clean appropriately. The most obvious reason your photo download failed is you probably did not resize the photo. I usually uswe 600x800 and compress it down so it's file size is in the 25K range. The site will resize to a certain degree as there are limits, but if you try to do a virgin photo it's most likely around 5 Meg or bigger depending on your camera and setting and it'sw too big for the site to resize and will reject it...
  2. Wishing you a speedy and complete recovery Carlos!!
  3. Yah! What Don said! There are a few things about the Kaw that are nicer but overall the quality just isn't there, especially the lower fairing. Liked the balance and seemingly lower center of gravity. Yes, for the money it's a good buy but not quite the bike as the Venture. That being said, if I were to buy a new bike (Which ain't gonna happen) I would strongly consider a Victory...
  4. Uhhhh, pretty much every one I've owned at one time or another... Both Ventures are just that little bit over my limit at my age, close but not quite enough, so I try to make sure m,y wife is with me at all times!
  5. Simple, Jeff, he'll lend it to me!!!
  6. Yah!! Happy early Birthday!! That cake decorator is VERY talented!!!
  7. Well, if you end up forcing your wallet open and actually buy one, then I can borrow it some time...
  8. I know I'm opening a can of worms but I prefer linked brakes for that very reason!! I found out the hard way when I got my new 2nd gen that the brakes were not linked. Just another cost effective cheapening IMHO...
  9. Uhhhhh, Dave, I don't think it was his bike he called that...
  10. Here ya go! http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=13098&highlight=Butler+brake It's basically a mod for the 2nd gen to con trol the "grab" of the rear brake so it's not as easy to lock up the rear brake...
  11. Ahhh! I was ass u me'ing that 3K was what your uncle offered it to you for. As mentioned, $5400 is KBB trade in value, retail is more, but deduct for what needs to be fixed to make ready to roll which will definately include new tires, and complete fluids flush and a good detailing...
  12. Ya know Mike, I always wondered if there was something you could do with the shells! What can you do with crabs legs???

    WOOT

I'll watch that one for a while Jay!
  14. We enjoy them a couple/three times a year at least! About a year ago we switched from boiling them to steaming them and using beer to steasm them! Makes an obvious difference in the taste! Works with crab legs too...
  15. I'd say so...
  16. Yup, what Gary said, your arm is upside down!! How do I know this?? Been there done that, bought the tee shirt... Wait, you say the shifter mounts directly to the knurled shaft? In that case the shaft has to be mounted upside down. I sort of remember seeing this on the site before, and for some reason I think Marcarl knows about this... In other words what Mel says. Didn't read his post until after I wrote this!
  17. OK I just had an inspiration! It's a 2nd gen, right? You make wine, right? How about the whining winer???
  18. Going with the traditional look, eh Gary?!!? Lotsa work fer sure but worth it! Myself I've been doing a lot of sorting, labeling, cleaning and eliminating in my garage...
  19. Yah! My first impression was Jardines as well!! Nice but louder than stock. I have a new pair for my '84...
  20. OK, instead of "Midlife Crisis" how about "Phase Two?"
  21. Ain't that the truth Bert?!!? Even without the tech help, the friendships made here are more than worth it!!!
  22. You will love the F4 especially when you discover how scratch resistant they are! Mention Venturerider and I think we get a 10% discount or something like that. Check the vendor forums...
  23. Welcome home Miles!! Quite the adventure you had, and compared to what could have happened you got off easy! I won't have a thing to do with Mexico myself these dasys, the last time I visited that country was in the late 60's and we never travelled alone even then! I'm thinking you will like the VStrom a lot, it is a very nice bike!
  24. Yup! Woke up today and it's snowing! Hey, don't like the weather in Western New York? Wait a minute, it will change...
  25. There is a rule here, PICTURES!!! We want pictures...
