  1. Yup! Also a toothbrush is very useful to scrub any corrosion off...
  2. Yes!! 6 footer should suffice, if we need longer, there's a Walmart near Don's, or I'm sure a Radio Shack, etc somewhat close. It just has to follow the handlebars down to the middle then into the fairing sort of like where the power lines for the passing lights enter. Once inside the fairing it's about a foot max up to where the splitter is going to be hooked up. It needs to be male on both ends, unless your Garmin mount needs female on it's side.
  3. Hmmmmm, this one won't work for me either Puc, have a 6 hour seminar on prayer booked at our church on Saturday, AND an old friend of mine's band will be performing at the Gowanda Harley Davidson dealer later Saturday as well...
  4. Yes it will Dan, as long as HS (Headsets) is selected, same as for radio and CB...
  5. There ya go Newbee MC9, as indicated in that thread, you want to replace those blue and white doobies! The silver stripe on the replacement diodes go on the side that the blue is on. I count 6 in the picture (one of the three together is missing it's entire body) but for some reason I thought there was 8. The stuff on the boards that looks like upchuck is actually a "conformal" coating to aid in waterproofing, and is quite normal and belongs there...
  6. There is/was one showing the locations (circled) SOMEWHERE on this site, but I've been searching for it for a couple of days for another member but haven't found it yet...
  7. For an '87, use anything from '84 to '89...
  8. Around 10'ish Jim...
  9. Ben, does that mean there's another package heading my way??
  10. As long as you aren't living in mold any more...
  11. All things being equal, I'll meet you at the T/A travel stop for lunch...
  12. Nice looking install!! I was going to go the easy route and just install a plug and play aftermarket LED bulb, but I do kinda like the looks of that... Are you coming to Don's MD?? I would love to see it up close and personal!
  13. OK Leo buy the splitter from Wally world, etc and bring it to MD, we'll get 'er done...
  14. Fully charge battery. Take battery out and go to your local Auto Zone, or any other parts store that will load test your battery for free, and have battery load tested. If it tests weak then replace said battery. Auto Zone sells their brand of AGM, and when you peel the label off, you discover that it is a DEKA with their label on it...
  15. Yup! Or, for a neater looking installation split the fairing and install a 3.5mm stereo headphone splitter on the line coming from the main audio unit at the junction and plug in there. That way you don't have your cassette door dangling open all the time!
  16. The Goldwing site is correct, AGM batteries do NOT like float chargers!! (Don't ask how I know this...) I now remove my AGM from the bike when storing for the winter and just put it on the shelf and forget about it! This spring I hooked my battery charger with a AGM specific setting, and with a 2 amp setting the battery was fully charged in about 1/2 hour! AGM's hold their charge quite well by themselves. The issue may be with the Regulator/Rectifiers. It seems to me that several have failed for some reason or another. There are a few better R/R's out there but unfortunately none are plug and play mainly because of the connector they use. There is no available connectors to make up adapter cables...
  17. Gee, this summer I will have a low mileage 1200 from my '84 that I am GIVING away! The catch is it's still in the bike and needs to be removed... Engine has 22K on it, it is being replaced with an overbored 1300 engine done by PCW Racing.
  18. Hey, Kevin, it's ONE of those "I" states...
  19. Yah! Just getting over a nasty chest cold Puc, didn't even make it up to Carl's M&E yesterday so Tuesday is out of the question, so I will have to make one of your other ones this summer. Wizard765 and I have plans on making it to one of them this summer but we will need a little more than 3 days advance notice to make plans. I will probably stay behind in Michigan for a day or two to visit my sister and the MI riders...
  20. I run with a lot less pressure on my trike Jeff, and the ride feels more comfortable and a bit more secure especially on the twisties. I run about 32 on the front and about 28 on the rear. Because trikes are not lean machines any more you don't need your sidewalls as stiff as on a 2 wheeler...
  21. No, probably the 1300...
  22. Pretty wild Patti!!
  23. Give it UP already, Yamaha AIN'T making a new Venture!!
  24. Some day all of us will switch to Mac...
  25. That's a GOOD thing to do Lenny!!!
