  1. I joined this forum in late 2008, back then my interest only was reading maintenance tips, fixes and the like, then I started to read the watering hole and got hooked up. I have owned my '86 Venture Royale for 21 years; 6K miles when I got it, it has now 42K miles. My other ride is a '93 Suzuki GSX1100G (dirty fast) Ok, the reason I'm writing this posting is to express my profound appreciation to all contributing members for their write-ups, know-how, instructions, etc. I just finished installing new larger battery cables, I got them from Barend, made installation thanks to Squidley's step by step instructions, by-pass the battery light sensor from GeorgeS's write-up; new Oddysey battery from Condor's write-up; Freebird game me the link to buy some other things a few months back. and from other members I also installed new ISO Kuryakyn grips, two new speakers and starter/solenoid. Avon/Venom rear tire (installed by a bike shop) Lastly, jut to mention that March of last year I met V7Goose and his brother Tom while they were here in El Paso, TX I have seen a lot of pics of your rides, places you have been, etc, I know the rule: got to post some pics! Here they are and thank you. Rudy:thumbsup2:
  2. Great solution. My problem is I don't have an accessory fuse, I have three spare fuses on the back of the cover. (my bike is a Venture 86) Where would my lead be connected to? Thank you so much.
  3. Yes, I support all the way, and thank you Don Rudy:173:
  4. Hey V7Goose (and Tom) Hope everything is back to normal now and you continue you trip Sunday morning. I guess I'm l_g right? the other antique rider that showed up to meet you guys last Tuesday. Like the GW, no just the color, everthing. Good luck, safe trip back home. Rudy Rody 1949:thumbsup2:
  5. In 1981 I joined the "Desertaires Motorcycle Club of El Paso", small club with most Gold Wings, two Harleys, one beemer and my first motorcycle an '82 suzuki 650GS. (the smallest of them all) After eleven years somebody told me about this guy selling his 'venture', it was the first time I saw this kind of bike, like it and purchased it. So I have had this '86 Venture Royale since 1992, the club disolved in 1995, and have been riding solo, until... Last week, thanks to VentureRider.Org I met "5bikes" he lives here in El Paso too, got together and made my first ride with his group to Guadalupe Mountains National Park in New Mexico, 250 mi. aprox. round trip. Chuck "5bikes" is highly knowledgable of motorcycles (he has 5 of them), we have plans to meet this coming Wednesday at his house to work on some of the 10 things my bike needs/wants. Rody 1949:sun:
