A lot of guys here have the Harley Road King with the slant cut ends that match the slant of the RSV bags very well. I actually have the RSTD mufflers on my RSV but the tips can be turned and I have mine pointed out to the side. Sorry, I'm out of town and don't have a picture of them on the computer here.

Well folks, it is that time of the year again. I'll be flying out of here around 10:00 to Minnesota and then driving to the company resort in Wisconsin for our semi-annual sales meeting. The good news is that I was told last week that they had installed high speed wireless Internet at the resort so HOPEFULLY I won't be out of touch for a week as I usually am. At any rate, will be in meetings until heading back home on Friday but should be able to check in here in the evenings and early mornings.

It's just one of those things that everybody has to make their own decision about. I just happen to feel that anything we can do to improve these brakes is a good thing. I've ridden a lot of years (about 50) and a lot of different bikes. I've not only practiced but even took the Advanced Riders course on the RSV and went through the emergency braking maneuvers and in my opinion, they just lock up way too quick. I have the proportioning valve on the rear that I got from Rick Butler and I have the TCB from Zack that I'm going to put on just as soon as I have a few spare minutes. From reading Kit Carson's review on the TCB, I've decided to go with it AND the proportioning valve and see how that works out. I can tell you for sure that even with the proportioning valve, you can still lock up the rear tire fairly easily. Not near as easily as without it though. I guess I'm saying that you can easily lock it up if you try but not as likely to do so accidentally. I'm thinking that it and the TCB will be the optimal solution. Also, you do not need 3 of the TCB units, only 2. one for the rear and one for the front. You can put the front one at the master cylinder or lower where the lines split. I'm thinking of putting mine lower where the lines split. Will probably require some trimming of the black plastic shield though.

Hey..you are rhyming you know.... Look before you leap.... It's 4am and I can't sleep.... There has to be a country song there somewhere.

It is not that unusual. Usually caused by slightly overfilling the oil. Most of us have found that with the bike in the complete upright position, NOT on the sidestand, that you don't want to fill it more than about halfway or just slightly above halfway in the site glass. If you use the full amount as listed in the manual, you will get that oil that you are seeing.

We have a member here by the username enforcers who is looking for a stock seat for him 2000 RSV. He needs both seats and the passenger backrest. He want's to switch from the brown seat of the MM to black seats. If anybody has a set that they want to get rid of or trade for brown, please shoot him an email at kwdrifter@hotmail.com He is having some problems posting and we are working through that. Thanks

Actually, it's in the upper menu bar. Actually the second menu bar at the top.

Another thing, the Bub's will always be louder than the stock mufflers but there is also a good chance that the need to be re-packed. They have fiberglass packing and do burn out over time. They can be repacked though. You have to drill out the rivets that hold the tips on and then drive the baffles out from the inlet end. They are probably a lot loud now than they have to be.

Dang Squid Boy...you said that very well. I had been planning on making a similar post very soon but I couldn't have said it any better than you did. Thanks much.

Even if everything you just typed is correct, it ONLY works out so long as not too many people feel the same way about tipping as you do. Heck...if everybody shared your opinion, your girls wouldn't be doing very well.

OH...and I'm even more anxious to meet you now. I would like to line our bikes up and put them to the test. See how much that extra 15 HP has bought you against my RSV.
-
Pegscraper, I'm still not sure that because you have them that they will be a drop in fit in the RSV. I'm not sure if Yamaha changed anything on this engine or not.
-
As has been said already, you can spend a lot of money and some of it will buy you some HP but it will take a lot of work and experimenting with jetting and etc. before you ever get it dialed in right. You really should try the VMAX rear before doing anything else. I haven't done a lot to my bike. I've tried various mufflers, K&Ns and I have the VMAX rear. The VMAX rear made the biggest difference by far.

I sure expect them to be here well before then. They actually emailed me a picture of the clay model yesterday but I emailed them back with a couple of changes. Shouldn't be long now hopefully.

It's probably bad connections inside the fairing. You will have to spit the fairing to correct it. Just unplug the connectors and then plug them back in. Do it a few times to make sure that any corrosion is wiped off. Many of us use a bit of dielectric grease on them. Look at the third picture down in this thread to see the connectors that I'm talking about. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=992 -
I always give a nice tip to the lady who cuts my hair. She does a good job and gives a GREAT head massage. I really don't care how good the haircut is, she is HOT.

I know that most places in the USA don't pay the waiter and waitresses that much. They really depend upon tips to make their money. I think I'm a good tipper. I really don't try to figure out how service at one place is as opposed to another. Sometimes it is better than others. If I get decent service, I tip a minimum of 20%. When I say minimum that doesn't mean that I sometimes tip a lot more, I just mean that I round things up. If my bill is $23.00 for example, I will usually tip as though it was $25.00 and leave a $5.00 tip. There have been very few times where I felt that the service was bad enough that the tip was not deserved. In those cases, I will usually tip NOTHING rather than try to figure out if it was worth 10%, 15%, etc. I figure it was worth my usual tip or NOTHING. NOTHING has actually happened maybe twice in the past 2 or 3 years and I eat out at least 6-10 times a week due to traveling so much.

Are these the trailers that you sell? They look pretty nice. http://www.matrixmfg.com/Rover.htm

and here is one on the Vega. They actually give it higher marks than the Fulmer. http://www.webbikeworld.com/r2/motorcycle-helmet/vega/summit-xpv.htm

Here is a decent article on the Fulmer Helmets. http://www.webbikeworld.com/r2/motorcycle-helmet/fulmer-helmet/

Well, that is another one of those things that I did at one time and ended up removing. To be honest, it really made a mess of the forum. The way it is now, most people usually just type and post and don't change the font all that often. When I had it where you could choose and save your favorite though, it made the forum look terrible and hard to read.

Very nice....were you nervous? I don't have any and probably never will. I think it would tickle on the neck though.
