  1. Still a lot of MAYBE's on the calendar. PLEASE go to the calendar and update your status or register if you haven't done so. We have to put the food order in for Saturday pretty soon.
  2. This is the welcome thread and some won't see your technical questions. Great post but it will get more attention if you put it in the First Gen Tech Talk forum.
  3. You set them on the LOW side to hopefully get more mileage? Don't they tighten up as they wear?
  4. There are hundreds of pictures from previous maintenance days and I looked through them but couldn't find one that showed you actually working.
  5. Sorry. Only supporting members can place ads.
  6. Just for a point of reference. I bought my 2013 Road Glide Ultra brand new. I got it for about $22,500 out the door. In addition to that, I got them to throw in a thousand dollar gift card for accessories or whatever and also a riders backrest in addition to the $1,000.00.
  7. Highly technical....highly technical.
  8. I think I have it working now.
  9. Beautiful color combo. Hope you love it.
  10. Good luck. I installed an amp on the '99 and ended up removing it later. It just really didn't help much. The biggest issue with the Venture is those small speakers. The POLKS are better but still a 5" speaker.
  11. I did loan it out and it was mailed back to me. I'm wondering if I threw it away. I was cleaning the garage a while back and threw away a lot of old boxes and etc. That tool ways almost nothing so I wonder if I threw away the box thinking that it was empty. I know that I'm out of places to look.
  12. You know Eck, I just sold my 2007 Avalanche. It was barely adequate for pulling my boat. I plan to just dock the boat this year BUT.....I just found a pristine 2002 3/4 ton Avalanche and am giving it some serious thought. Loaded with moon roof, leather interior, 4X4, etc. Being a 3/4 ton it has the 8.1 big block engine. I love that engine but gas mileage is going to be worse than terrible. On the other hand, it won't get driven very often so ....... It only has 54,000 original miles on it which is extremely low for a 2002 model. Likely because they couldn't afford to drive it with that 8.1 big block. Sitting here right now debating on it.
  13. LOL.....I'll bet we can.
  14. I told him that he could borrow mine. The problem is, I can't find it. I've been through my entire garage and it's just vanished. The good news is that from searching for it, my toolbox, shelves, etc. are all organized again.
  15. Thanks for the heads up. Mine's a 2013 so I'm good. I've actually had no recalls on mine at all.
  16. I've been in Livonia, MI all week and it has snowed off and on all day here today. What gives? This is crazy.
  17. No problem. Done.
  18. and a GREAT update it is. So glad to see him up and walking. I know it was a touch battle.
  19. You may be jumping the gun. The fix may be very simple. There are a number of things that could be causing this issue. It could be the pins have fallen out of the drum due to a star washer tab. There are others here who will reply with more detail as I've not actually had to do that job. If you are determined to just sell the bike and not mess with it, you will need to become a supporting member to post it in the classifieds.
  20. Well now I've got to add "take the battery out" to my list of things to get done.
  21. Yes, that is the difference. I'm scared to mention it because somebody will use that as an excuse to post another ad and say "hey...I just wanted to talk about it".
  22. I don't remember the brand. Bought them just up the road at a small boat shop. I know that the deep cycle battery was something like 650 amp hours. I don't remember what the dual purpose battery was on amp hours but it was either 800 or 850 cca. Not a terrible price either. $109.95 each. Buying the 2 AWG cable to move the selector switch wasn't cheap though.
  23. I should be OK. Both of these batteries have much more CCA and also amphrs than that. One is 650 CCA and the other is 800 CCA. The deep cycle battery is the 650 CCA but a LONG time on the amp hours. Don't remember now but it was very good.
  24. LOL....well...it will be docked at Lake Erie and I have fished off it but it's not a fishing boat.
  25. Got it out and it was all rusted out. Just ordered a new stainless steel one. Wasn't too bad. It's only a 6 gallon tank. A little different from an RV heater because it is a dual type. It has a heat exchanger that heats from the engine and also a 120v element for shore power. New SS one was $343.00. Could have been worse. Now just have to wait for it to get here and then back down into that engine compartment.
