  1. Sorry, it didn't get move. It got deleted. Not trying to be hateful but I've posted many times that any ads placed in the watering hole will be deleted.
  2. Yes, it got booted. Maybe somebody can find it again and put it under the Craigslist forum.
  3. Well there is no reason for you to leave. Your membership was paid by a friend who wanted you to hang around.
  4. Moved to the Darkside forum.
  5. Brenner, There is no ruling to be made. It would never be my desire that you leave the site over this. There are very few people here that have not posted something at some point or another that got under somebodies skin. I agree with some of what you said but was just taken back a bit by the attitude in how it was said. I didn't feel that you should have taken such offense and went on the attack about it. Like I said, I don't know of a case where mercury was sucked into the engine and caused any damage. I tend to agree that it would just pass right through but I've never torn down and inspected an engine after that has happened so I can't say with 100% certainty that there was absolutely no damage. The point is, it was just another opinion and a different viewpoint. I honestly don't think it was meant as an attack against you or your choice of tools. Now the readers can make their own decision about which tool is best for them. Many user the Mercury sticks, many use the Carbtune. Some HATE the Carbtune and don't trust it at all. I used the Carbtune for many years and it did a good job. I'll be the first to admit though that if not kept clean, the rods can stick and cause some bad readings. So there are positives and negatives to both. At any rate, I am not wishing for you to leave and hope to see you hear for many years. You input here has been very helpful many times.
  6. I hate to ruffle any feathers but feel that you need to lighten up a bit. Showing what can happen if the mercury gets sucked into the engine can be nothing but helpful. Nobody said that you didn't know what you were doing but that does not mean that the possibility of it happening shouldn't be mentioned in case somebody might not have your expertise. To be honest, I have seen it happen and it's not always because the person didn't know how to use the tool. There are certain conditions of the engine and settings of the carb that can cause it to happen almost immediately. I saw it happen to a good friend who has synced hundreds of these carbs. As far as I know, it didn't cause any problems but apparently it is possible that it could. You are correct that this forum is friendly and positive but it is also a source of many opinions that may not always be the same as yours. Sorry, but I think it was your response that was less than friendly.
  7. Only 83 people are signed up YES. 26 Maybe. Come on folks, we can do better than that. Please signup if you are planning to come. It's always a great time. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=437&day=2015-5-30&c=1
  8. Sorry to hear it. You will be missed. You are still welcome to come to MD. Would be great to see you again.
  9. Bike looks good Paul. I assume that is a Roadhouse exhaust? It's a cool old school look. You should have stopped by. I was here all day.
  10. Not 100% sure. Very sad though.
  11. Sorry, that is what I MEANT to say. If it is a Twin, it should NOT be called a Venture. We are on the same page.
  12. When the '99 came out, I was thrilled. I had owned the '88 and it just didn't fit me very well. When I saw the "cruiser" styled '99, I loved it at first sight. I was riding a Harley FXRD at the time and immediately bought the Venture and a few weeks later sold the FXRD. Now that being said, this is not the first time that I've heard of some rep claiming this and that about a new Venture coming out. There is always one that seems to know things that nobody else in the dealer chain knows about. If this one is true, it will be the first time I've ever heard of one getting it right. Only time will tell but I don't believe this rep's story. I do agree though. If it has a Twin, it should be called a Venture.
  13. They have always had it. My '99 had it.
  14. Thanks for posting Mr. Owl. I should probably apologizing for ratting you out but sorry....I just can't. You see, a lot of people here really do care about you and I just decided that those who believe in the power of prayer would want that opportunity. So.....I'm sorry that I'm not sorry and will try to be more sorry next time. Glad to hear that they are getting things figured out. You gave me quiet a scare my friend.
  15. And that is about the best explanation I have heard. Very well written my friend. Check it this time then forget about them for a long time.
  16. Eileen's nephew and his wife came by for dinner last night. Fired up the grill and did some hotdogs and hamburgers. He also made these stuffed Jalapeños though and they were fantastic. Just cut off he stems, scoop out the insides, fill with cream cheese, wrap in bacon and put them on the grill on low heat until the bacon is done to your liking. I could have forgone the hamburgers and hotdogs and just had these for dinner.
  17. Love it and agree. Ride safe my friends.
  18. I would check them. I think that service manager is giving bad advice. I also think that he will be right about 7 times out of 10 but I wouldn't take that chance.
  19. I think it is very likely the switch. If you look in the classifieds, I think there is still somebody selling a bypass harness. Not bad to have it in case of a failure anyway.
  20. The shadow would be a great choice. The 1100 is very manageable and really not much, if any, bigger than a 750.
  21. Talk to member @dingy here. He may have something. He sells an aftermarket unit that works very well and many here have it. I'm just not 100% sure that it will work on the '92.
  22. I can't say if they have any or not but please note that this thread is 6 years old.
  23. Thank you for taking care of this again Gary. You are much appreciated for all you do.
  24. Would like to see those plans. You can email them to me at dnelson@venturerider.org if you get a chance. Thanks for the great tips. I'll be coming back to this thread and printing out these tips I'm sure.
  25. That just looks fantastic. If you decide to mass produce them, we would be happy to accept a donation for prizes at the International Rally. That goes for all our vendors here. We are currently looking for donations.
