  1. I got an email from a member this morning letting me know that Rick Butler was in a motorcycle accident. I thought he was going to post here but since he hasn't yet, I thought I would let you all know. Rick was riding his RSV at track days I believe at the Texas Motor Speedway. He has a track bike that he typically rides there but this was a special street bike event. I spoke to him on the phone after learning of the accident. He was actually still in the hospital when we spoke but was getting ready to go home. He doesn't remember exactly what happened but only that he ended up high siding and going down. Said he wasn't going very fast when it happened but a combination of things caused some pretty bad injuries. He broke both collarbones and I think 3 ribs. The bike is repairable and he will get it fixed up when he feels like doing it. He is going to be fine. He wanted me to let you all know though that it will be a few weeks before he can do any seat mods. He asked that you please contact him before sending him your seats. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
  2. First of all, Rick is still in business. He has his ad in the classifieds under Member Vendors. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/photopost/showproduct.php?product=21&title=butt-butler-seat-mod&cat=16 He does great work. I had him do my Road Glide seat over the winter and am looking forward to trying it on some long rides. Now the bad news. I just learned this morning that Rick was in a motorcycle accident. He is OK but is going to be out of commission for a few weeks. I spoke to him on the phone earlier today and he was still in the hospital but was getting ready to head home later today. He broke both collarbones and 3 ribs.
  3. Awww....there it is. Didn't scroll down far enough. Yes....the perfect bike.
  4. LOL...you may have nailed it. No mention of a cassette player though.
  5. I take it all back...oh the horror....to this day clowns scare me. For those of you who weren't around, here are a couple of pictures from that nightmare. Even my poor bike suffered.
  6. Hey...I resent that. I am NOT lop eared.
  7. Just ask me when you get here Puc, I'll point them out to you. I may even have a mirror you can look at.
  8. I have one of those too. Heck, I may even add it to the door prizes. )
  9. I want to offer my public thanks to Ragtop for helping spread the word about selling Eddie's Road Glide. Some of you noticed that I had posted an ad for it here in our classifieds and also some other places. Jay told his neighbor about it and the bike is now sold. I know that it's at least one thing off Kelly's plate. I have to say though, I am really going to miss Eddie at Maintenance Day. He was my Harley Support Group. Now I have to deal with all your verbal abuse all alone. It's not fair I tell you.
  10. I've heard others mention that over the years but have never seen a solution. I think that they all pretty much do it. I don't even remember but I think that they get very quite but can still be heard a little.
  11. Sandusky is probably about 40 minutes. Not too far at all.
  12. Thank you Nancy. Would have rather you had delivered them personally but I understand.

  14. Uh...I have no recollection of that event.
  15. They work fine with the stock jetting. No changes needed at all.
  16. Oberlin Inn has been pretty good to us in the past. The problem this year is that they are under major construction and I don't think have many rooms open.
  17. I gave it to Motiv but he lives just down the road and is going to bring it.
  18. There are people in both camps. I would love to see a full boat CRUISER style but with a variation of the VMAX engine. If they go back to the feet under first gen style though, I would never be an owner. We all have different preferences.
  19. There are still some of them here that you left last time. Not sure how many though.

  21. I have a lift. Should have one adapter also. You are welcome to bring anything you want Earl.
  22. Reminder to self....spike Marcarl's water with sleeping pills.
  23. Yep, I think those things are certainly doable.
  24. A reminder for those who have been here and some information for those of you coming the first time. I have a catered lunch delivered on Saturday. There is no set charge and nobody stands there looking to see who contributes and who doesn't. There will be a donation can on the counter for those who wish to help with expenses. There are 110 people signed up at this time and some more "maybes". I always stand there stressing over whether or not I ordered enough food but there has always been plenty and even left overs for people to have seconds or a bite later in the day. I plan to order enough for 125 people and they usually bring more than enough. We are going to Quaker Steak and Lube in Vermillion on Friday evening for those of you who are here already. Though MD is schedule for Saturday, a lot of people typically show up on Friday and a few even on Thursday afternoon and you are welcome to do so. We will leave from my house for Quaker Steak probably around 5:30 for those that want to ride together. All other meals you are on your own. There will be coffee in the mornings but breakfast and etc. is up to you. There are several decent places close by for those of you who wish to go eat. I can give you simple directions when you are hear. May even join you. There is BBQ grill on my back deck. It is a combination unit with gas on one side and charcoal on the other. You are more than welcome to use it. There is a Walmart a couple miles away and also a couple of grocery stores about 4 miles away. If you want to cook, you are more than welcome to. There is a hot tube on the deck also. I just drained, cleaned and refilled it so it is ready for you use if you so choose. I just need to remind you that bathing suits are absolutely required for all men. Optional for women. We have again made arrangements to rent a porta pottie. We generally ask the men to use it and leave the inside restrooms available for all these finicky women folks. Our house is open to you if you need to use the shower or whatever. Just bring your own towels please. If you DON'T bring your own towel, we will make sure you have one but it just makes it easier if you bring your own. If you plan to do oil changes, brake fluid, etc., you need to bring your own fluids. If you don't want to bring them but would rather pick stuff up here, there are a couple of automotive parts stores within 2 - 4 miles. Also the Walmart. In addition to the donation can for the food, we usually hold a 50/50 drawing if you are interested. Also usually some ticket sales for a few door prizes. Not sure what those will be yet but I'll come up with something. Tickets for the trailer to be given away at the International Rally will also be available. $10.00 each or 3 for $25.00. You do NOT have to be present at the International Rally to win the trailer. The few things that I have available for the Venturerider club will be available. Domed decals, small patches, flags, etc. This is not about selling stuff. It's all to enjoy one another company and maybe get some minor work done on your bikes. Since selling my RSV, I don't have the things that I usually do but there are people bringing carb sync tools and there should be at least one RSV lift adapter here. If somebody has another and wants to bring another sync tool that would be fine. I hope that we can keep the bike work to more simple things this year. Carb syncs, maybe break pads, oil changes, stuff like that. We have tackled some big project during MD a few times and it really ends up being a TON of work. That being said, if you have something that you need done we will try to get it done. Just remember, we are here to help one another. Please be prepared to get your hands dirty if you want your bike worked on. Folks are here to help, not do it all for you. One last thing. Just TODAY they started laying new chip seal on highway 303 that is the road off 58 that comes to our street. Hopefully it will all be done but if not, I'll post a back way to come in so that you can avoid it. I may be forgetting something. Those of you who have attended before are free to add to this list.
  25. Reminder to self....REMOVE BELL before Cowpuc arrives.
