I think I've managed to put together some decent door prizes for Maintenance Day so bring LOT'S of MONEY. Seriously, for those of you who wish to participate, as usual there will be tickets available for the following prizes. I just stopped and bought a GoPro Hero3+ Silver as well as a handlebar mount and a 16GB memory card. Skydoc has generously donated a complete Stainless Steel Brake and Clutch Line Set for either a First Gen. motorcycle, or a Second Gen. motorcycle. He will make up whichever set the winner needs and mail it to them after he gets back home. Nanci (LuvdaLeather) has graciously sent a set of her excellent leather saddlebag lid covers for a Second Gen (RSV or RSTD). She is always there for us and does fantastic work. Starfan is donating the beautiful carb covers that he recently had made and took orders for. Slowrollwv has graciously donated a set of his carb and twinkie covers. Eileen as put together a handful of "lady specific" fun items as usual. I couldn't do this without her help. I have a couple of items (lightly used) that I'm going to toss in simply because I don't need them any longer. A Morgan Colortune, Yamaha magnetic tank bag, etc. There will also be the usual 50/50 drawing. Also available for anybody who still needs them are VentureRider flags, domed decals, small patches. Out of Guardian Bells at this time. Haven't come up with a ticket price yet but we'll get that figured out. Probably $5.00 per ticket for the GoPro, SS Lines and Saddlebag covers. $1.00 each for the lady specific prizes (small things), 50/50 is usually $1.00 per ticket. All these are subject to change after I get some feedback. The way we did it last time was to just pull the first number and let the winner pick what they want and then down the list.

You would have to show me those posts. I've never seen anybody claim that. Either way, it is absolutely not true.
-
Basically I'm out of them but probably have a couple here. Will dig them out.

Are you folks forgetting Eileen's Jello shots? New recipe this year. A mix of pineapple and cranberry Jello with Whipped Vodka. Great drink, should be fantastic Jello shots.
-
Sure did. I love it. Great job.

It was a GREAT day. Good weather, good friends, good food, a couple of good beers.
-
No, it's their parallel, upright six cylinder.
-
I do like it but it would have to have a tour pack and a better riders backrest. Also, the mid mounted foot pegs may not work for me. I like more of a cruiser position. Would be worth looking at but I bet it is a $30,000.00 bike.

No way would I have done that. I am the same person on the Harley as I was on the Venture. I try to be respectful of other drivers and if I were going slow for some reason, I would have pulled over to the side and let them pass. That being said, remember next week we are going to Quaker Steak for dinner. If you folks wouldn't mind staying WAY back on the way if I am leading. No reason for any Harley riders that we come upon to know that I am riding with you folks. And by ALL means....NO WAVING. That would be a dead giveaway.

I didn't see you at the end of he drive. You should have come on to the house and taken a break. We could have visited a while. Food is usually served around noon to one o'clock. Sorry, Eileen nixed the dancing girls.

Well in my humble opinion....that's one heck of a sharp motorcycle. WOW....
-
I don't know. I called him Bill. He didn't correct me but it may have been wrong. Yes, he says they are coming back. Nice guy.
-
Well folks. Bill and his sweet wife made it here safely. Had a cup of coffee and visited awhile and they are on their way home now. He was just scoping things out you know.
-
It's NOT this weekend though. Next weekend. The 30th.

Don't think I haven't thought about that. Then when all the weeds are gone, you have a BBQ.
-
Anybody who shows up today had best be familiar with the technical workings of a weed eater.
-
Sound like good people. Wish they could have made it but I understand about the short notice.
-
I wish I still had my Laser. I could do some nice things with those pads and it wouldn't take long.
-
Gonna need a mirror for you too.

Just got of the phone with Eileen. She called the caterer to order food for Saturday at Maintenance Day. We were shocked that the prices had gone up 40% from two years ago but still the best deal around. As always a "Donation" can will be out for those who wish to help with the costs. To give you an idea, the cost per person for just the food is $8.22 per person. That does not include water, soft drinks, buns and etc. that we buy elsewhere. Again, if you are going through hard times and simply can't afford to donate, we completely understand and you are still more than welcome to enjoy the lunch. If you can help, it is much appreciated. Thanks

The cd player was an optional add on. You can just unplug it and leave the cable there or completely remove it by splitting the fairing and unplugging it. As for the holes, if you are lucky whoever did the install drilled some standard size holes and you should be able to just pick up some rubber plugs at an automotive parts store or even most hardware stores. Same thing with the handlebar controls. They simply plug into a socket inside the fairing. Just unplug it and it will come right off. The CB is actually located under the tour pack and again. The cable runs from it to again, inside the fairing and simply plugs in. All of what you want to do is very simple. I don't know of any available replacement covers for the speaker grills. The way they are made though, I think it would be fairly easy to fill the slots with some type of liquid plastic and then sand them smooth and repaint them.

I got an email from a member this morning letting me know that Rick Butler was in a motorcycle accident. I thought he was going to post here but since he hasn't yet, I thought I would let you all know. Rick was riding his RSV at track days I believe at the Texas Motor Speedway. He has a track bike that he typically rides there but this was a special street bike event. I spoke to him on the phone after learning of the accident. He was actually still in the hospital when we spoke but was getting ready to go home. He doesn't remember exactly what happened but only that he ended up high siding and going down. Said he wasn't going very fast when it happened but a combination of things caused some pretty bad injuries. He broke both collarbones and I think 3 ribs. The bike is repairable and he will get it fixed up when he feels like doing it. He is going to be fine. He wanted me to let you all know though that it will be a few weeks before he can do any seat mods. He asked that you please contact him before sending him your seats. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

Seat Redone By Butler Great Job
Freebird replied to seeing's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
First of all, Rick is still in business. He has his ad in the classifieds under Member Vendors. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/photopost/showproduct.php?product=21&title=butt-butler-seat-mod&cat=16 He does great work. I had him do my Road Glide seat over the winter and am looking forward to trying it on some long rides. Now the bad news. I just learned this morning that Rick was in a motorcycle accident. He is OK but is going to be out of commission for a few weeks. I spoke to him on the phone earlier today and he was still in the hospital but was getting ready to head home later today. He broke both collarbones and 3 ribs.
