There are people in both camps. I would love to see a full boat CRUISER style but with a variation of the VMAX engine. If they go back to the feet under first gen style though, I would never be an owner. We all have different preferences.

There are still some of them here that you left last time. Not sure how many though.

I have a lift. Should have one adapter also. You are welcome to bring anything you want Earl. -
Reminder to self....spike Marcarl's water with sleeping pills.

A couple of notes about Freebird's Maintenance Day
Freebird replied to Freebird's topic in Watering Hole
Yep, I think those things are certainly doable. -
A reminder for those who have been here and some information for those of you coming the first time. I have a catered lunch delivered on Saturday. There is no set charge and nobody stands there looking to see who contributes and who doesn't. There will be a donation can on the counter for those who wish to help with expenses. There are 110 people signed up at this time and some more "maybes". I always stand there stressing over whether or not I ordered enough food but there has always been plenty and even left overs for people to have seconds or a bite later in the day. I plan to order enough for 125 people and they usually bring more than enough. We are going to Quaker Steak and Lube in Vermillion on Friday evening for those of you who are here already. Though MD is schedule for Saturday, a lot of people typically show up on Friday and a few even on Thursday afternoon and you are welcome to do so. We will leave from my house for Quaker Steak probably around 5:30 for those that want to ride together. All other meals you are on your own. There will be coffee in the mornings but breakfast and etc. is up to you. There are several decent places close by for those of you who wish to go eat. I can give you simple directions when you are hear. May even join you. There is BBQ grill on my back deck. It is a combination unit with gas on one side and charcoal on the other. You are more than welcome to use it. There is a Walmart a couple miles away and also a couple of grocery stores about 4 miles away. If you want to cook, you are more than welcome to. There is a hot tube on the deck also. I just drained, cleaned and refilled it so it is ready for you use if you so choose. I just need to remind you that bathing suits are absolutely required for all men. Optional for women. We have again made arrangements to rent a porta pottie. We generally ask the men to use it and leave the inside restrooms available for all these finicky women folks. Our house is open to you if you need to use the shower or whatever. Just bring your own towels please. If you DON'T bring your own towel, we will make sure you have one but it just makes it easier if you bring your own. If you plan to do oil changes, brake fluid, etc., you need to bring your own fluids. If you don't want to bring them but would rather pick stuff up here, there are a couple of automotive parts stores within 2 - 4 miles. Also the Walmart. In addition to the donation can for the food, we usually hold a 50/50 drawing if you are interested. Also usually some ticket sales for a few door prizes. Not sure what those will be yet but I'll come up with something. Tickets for the trailer to be given away at the International Rally will also be available. $10.00 each or 3 for $25.00. You do NOT have to be present at the International Rally to win the trailer. The few things that I have available for the Venturerider club will be available. Domed decals, small patches, flags, etc. This is not about selling stuff. It's all to enjoy one another company and maybe get some minor work done on your bikes. Since selling my RSV, I don't have the things that I usually do but there are people bringing carb sync tools and there should be at least one RSV lift adapter here. If somebody has another and wants to bring another sync tool that would be fine. I hope that we can keep the bike work to more simple things this year. Carb syncs, maybe break pads, oil changes, stuff like that. We have tackled some big project during MD a few times and it really ends up being a TON of work. That being said, if you have something that you need done we will try to get it done. Just remember, we are here to help one another. Please be prepared to get your hands dirty if you want your bike worked on. Folks are here to help, not do it all for you. One last thing. Just TODAY they started laying new chip seal on highway 303 that is the road off 58 that comes to our street. Hopefully it will all be done but if not, I'll post a back way to come in so that you can avoid it. I may be forgetting something. Those of you who have attended before are free to add to this list.

Reminder to self....REMOVE BELL before Cowpuc arrives.

You make it too easy for me. My favorite is the white so it is already done.

Fantastic. They look great. Nancy is the best.

We are about ready for all you hooligans. It's always a busy spring around here getting ready for Maintenance Day but I think we are ready. We are sitting on the front porch having a little drink and relaxing and just talking about how different things are going to look here in less than 2 weeks now. We are really looking forward to hosting all our old friends and hopefully some new ones.

Tablet unfriendly forum
Freebird replied to Silverado6x6's topic in Computer help and tips for using this site.
I just posted a thread in the testing area. I dug out a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, 7.0 that I have never used for anything. I had no problem at all posting the thread and uploading a picture. I did not use Tapatalk or any other additional software. Just the system and browser that came installed on the Galaxy. Sorry but it wasn't unfriendly at all for me. It worked just exactly as it does when I post from my computer. I guess I need some more details to understand exactly what it happening. -

I don't know. Maybe he feels that I lowballed him and maybe I did. I did the research and felt that he was a little high for a 2002 model. He was asking 12,900. I offered him 11,500 and figured at the worse that he would come back with a counter offer and maybe I would consider it. The 3/4 tons are a bit harder to find in decent condition but on the other hand, there aren't a lot of people looking for 8 MPG Avalanches. Most would just go with a 4 door truck if that is what they need.

Thanks Rick. If anybody else has a Carbtune or sync device that they can bring, it would be very helpful. I have mine to a friend and he is supposed to drop it off before MD but if he doesn't, I won't have one.

You might try TapaTalk. It is installed here and may work better for you. I will look at it a little closer when I get home from my business trip. I can tell you that it seems to work OK with the iPad that my wife uses. I have a Samsung of some sort at home. I'll have a look with it when I get home. -
Apparently not. I actually emailed the guy and made him an offer. He must have felt insulted because he didn't even respond. I waited a few days and sent him another email asking what he WOULD take and he again never replied. Oh well.

Serious question about my 2nd gen kickstand
Freebird replied to YamahaLarry's topic in Watering Hole
One other thing. How much air are you both running in the rear shock? -
I actually put the boat in the water last weekend. Had a friend tow it to Huron Lagoons Marina in Huron, OH. Eileen and I took it out for a couple hours cruise before getting it acquainted with it's new slip for the summer. Ran great....knock on wood.

If it is a '92, it is a 1300. Either he is wrong about the year, wrong about the engine size, or it has been swapped. Congrats anyway. Sounds like you got a fantastic deal.

Sorry, not that I know of. The only vendor that I know of that has said they are attending is the pinstriper.

OK folks...I hope to get a final count here over the next day or two. This does not mean that you aren't welcome to show up if you find that you are able to at the last minute but at least need to get it close because we have to order food soon. If you are planning to come, PLEASE RSVP on the calendar at: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=437&day=2015-5-30&c=1 If you signed up yes and now know that you can't make it, please go there and remove your name. If you are signed up "MAYBE". Please update your status if you now know that you can or can't make it. Thanks

Paul, I hope that somebody here has some information for you. I know you well enough to know that it was hard for you to post this. It sounds like the device that you are asking about is not extremely well known but this is a very diverse group so hopefully somebody has some experience with it or knows somebody who does. In the meantime, we will continue our prayers. Folks, I don't know that any of you have met Paul in person but he is one of the good ones. You just never know who you will meet through this forum but we met Paul and his wife Julie probably a year ago. He bought a RSV and found this forum and it turned out that he only lives a few miles down the road from us. They are great people and it truly hurts me to know what he is going through now. If you know anything about what he is asking, please speak up. If you don't, please keep him in your prayers.
