  1. All that I ever had used tripe. I have no problem with that but just didn't like the taste. I've tried it several times and can eat it, just not my favorite. As for SPICY? BRING IT ON! I love it.
  2. I'm not exactly sure what it is but if it's Menudo, you can keep it. One of the few Mexican dishes that I just don't like. The other one is anything with Mole sauce.
  3. I think that the vents help somewhat and I do like them. In my opinion though, going wider helps more with the buffeting on the second gen than the height.
  4. I tried that link and it returned a message that said, "sorry, we found no plug caps for your application". Did you find something else there?
  5. Yes, it's a second gen thing.
  6. I believe you have to replace the whole coil. Unless somebody has figured out a way to replace just the wire, they are not designed to do so. In my opinion, that was a terrible design on Yamaha's part.
  7. No problem. They get here when they get here. Thanks.
  8. Here is a link to one of several articles that I found. Only 7 states require ethanol blends. Maine is the only state that has actually gone as far as banning ethanol blended gasoline. https://www.hemmings.com/blog/2015/07/16/which-states-require-ethanol-in-your-fuel-fewer-than-you-might-think/
  9. I haven't done the research that you have but at this time, I don't think it is true that all gas sold in the US contains ethanol. Around my area, that seems to be true but in my travels, I see stations that boldly advertise some non-ethanol gas. I was in Youngstown, OH a couple weeks ago and stopped for gas at a station just of Interstate 80. They had huge banners advertising their premium gas was ethanol free. Not sure but I THINK it was a Sunoco station.
  10. It could very likely be the ignition switch. That is one thing that has plagued some of these bikes. As for the Gen. Yamaha made the Venture from '83 - '93 the first time. We refer to those as First Gen. They came out with the Royal Star Venture in 1999 and through 2013. We refer to those as the Second Gen. OH...and there is no third gen. Any talk you see about that is our hopes for the future.
  11. Really didn't need that much but when I got it, the 128GB model was on backorder and they had the 256. I could probably put all my CDS and downloads on it but probably never will as I use Pandora or Iheart most of the time.
  12. I don't really have an answer for you. I have an Ipod Nano that is seldom used any longer. The nano used to come in higher capacities but I think they are only 16 GB now. I saw no reason to carry around an Ipod and a Iphone so now just use my phone for both. I have a 256GB Iphone 7 plus and it serves as my phone and music and I don't have to worry about keeping two different devices charged. My wife has a Iphone 7 with 128GB and that is even enough for us. To be honest, we don't listen to the MP3's as much as we used to. It's usually Pandora or Iheart now and the phones to that very well also.
  13. Modification for replacing turn signal bulbs with LEDs. turn signal mod for LEDs.pdf
  14. We have them in the tech library. Here is a link. Don't worry about the years, they are all the same from '99 - the end except for the colors. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?1828-Download-the-Owners-and-Service-Manuals
  15. Sorry, it was several years ago that I did mine. It appears to be the same tac but I can't remember if it was just hard to get off or what.
  16. Well the pin is there to stop it from going down any further. I still think that is your problem. Worth trying.
  17. I'm sure it is safe to ride but are you SURE it is pegged out? I ask because I had a clutch mounted tac and somehow the needle, vibration or something, got on the wrong side of the peg. I just screwed the face off and gently lifted the needle to the other side of the peg and it was fine from then on.
  18. Heck Bob, I don't even remember. I don't remember it being too awful cramped though.
  19. Yea guys, we know where the one below the air valve on the neck is. We are looking for a second one. Will check on the bottom of the frame as suggested.
  20. I just got a PM from a new member asking me about the VIN number locations on the RSV. His state requires an inspection and they insist on verifying the VIN in two different places on the bike. We all know the obvious location on the neck tube but where is another one? I did a quick look and didn't find it. I've seen this question asked before, for the same reason, on the first gen but not the RSV.
  21. The only two British cars I've ever owned were a pair of Triumph Spitfires. Not sure but I think they were '76 and '77 models. Had them both at the same time. They were fun but like many British cars, the electrical switches were troublesome. Otherwise, I enjoyed them for the short time that I owned them. Both had problems when I bought them. My plans were to get them both running well and then sell one and keep one. I had a red one and a white one. I got them both ready and decided to keep the white one. A young lady came over and wanted to buy the red one but had trouble coming up with the money and somebody else beat her to it. She came back and was so disappointed and I let her talk me into selling her the white one. So, they were both gone and that was the end of my experience with British cars. I had a neighbor who was a doctor and he had a TR6 in his garage that he had bought new and driven during med school. It was mint and he never drove it any longer. Kept saying that he might sell it to me but never did. Would have liked to have it.
  22. Those holes are to drain moisture. Yes, it is normal to get exhaust out of them. There were a lot of bikes that had a pinhole where you are thinking about at the "Y". I've repaired it with JB Weld. It is on the backside and doesn't show anyway.
  23. Everybody who owns a RSV needs to check that bolt. Put some blue loctite on it. It is known to back out.
  24. Great. Don't you love it when a plan comes together.
