  1. Should do a good job. Nice work. I can remember when I was a kid, before A/C became popular, we had the swamp coolers in our houses in Texas. I was born and raised in NE Texas and it was always pretty humid. Those things put so much more humidity in the air that there was no way to raise a window in the house.
  2. There is actually one specifically for the first gen. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?56723-First-Gen-Carb-Sync-With-Carbtune-Including-Pics!
  3. Unless the battery is very old and nearing end of life anyway, you should be able to charge it and it will do fine.
  4. Yes it is. Go to your ad, in the upper right corner click on "product options". Then click "edit ad" from the dropdown menu.
  5. Let her know that we are all wishing her, and you, the best and you are both in our prayers. Scary stuff.
  6. Very common. Some tires worse than others. Often you can run your open palm lightly along the edge of the tire and feel scalloping but not always. I've even had some brand new tires do it, depending upon the tread design. The original Michelin Commander was sing like crazy in a sweeping curve. They have upgraded that tire and it's now called the Commander II but I haven't tried one and don't know if it still makes the noise or not. It was a great tire otherwise.
  7. Beautiful bike. I actually like the front fender better than their old-time swoopy fender. I know that old style is part of their heritage but I'm just not a fan.
  8. No, it does not. That fuse is actually associated with the audio system, backup power for audio presets, etc.
  9. I've done it. It works fine if you have a long bed truck. The hard part is finding a place to load and unload it. It's a heavy bike to handle on a steep ramp. I found a low place, ditch or something, to back into so that the tailgate was close to the ground.
  10. OK...I THINK I have increased the notice to two weeks. Some people mail checks and/or money orders so hopefully two weeks bill be a better setting. We'll have to see if it works. There is no setting for changing it. You have to dig through a lot of programming code to find where it all happens and then they don't make it obvious. We'll see. Just to show you what I mean, once you find the general area of the setting in thousands and thousand of lines of code, this is what it looks like: "(TIMENOW + (86400 * 13)) So it's based on the number of seconds in a day x the number of days. Also, you should get a notification in your "notification" tab at the top of the forum, same one where you are notified about PMs and etc. Is that not working? You should have been getting that at 14 days ahead of time also.
  11. Yes, it's on the website. I added it for you and also for Grez.
  12. I'm sure it's not a problem. He probably thought about it over night and knew that people would want to know.
  13. I got a call about this yesterday. First asking me to help look for somebody to help and then another message telling me that they had found help. Sorry I didn't post about it but I was also told that Mike didn't want it posted publicly for some reason. Sad news and Mike you are in our thoughts and prayers. Hope you heal soon.
  14. Sorry to hear about your hardships. Got messages yesterday but by the time I got it, you had already sent the second one. Will honor your wishes and not go into detail here but please let me know if you need anything. You can fill everybody in at the right time. I wish you the best on the rest of your journey.
  15. He was last on here in February and never did become a supporting member so his trial period is over and he won't be able to respond. Too bad, there was a lot of interest in his project.
  16. I really like those scooters. Have, in the past, thought about getting rid of the big bikes and buying a couple of those. I think Eileen would really enjoy it also. Just can't seriously consider getting rid of a big bike though. Maybe someday.
  17. It's not difficult to add the vent to most any windshield. I have put the Goldwing vent in a couple and there is also a round vent that can be installed one on each side.
  18. Always sad to hear that one of our members is going through such hard times. It makes us realize that life is so precious and we waste way too much of it on things that really aren't so important. Please know that you and your family are in our prayers.
  19. I think you are right but that is in addition to the oil reservoir being in the frame. I would think that would help also as it gets it at least a little ways from the engine.
  20. This is not the first time that Yamaha has used the frame as the oil reservoir. I believe it was my old XT500 "Thumper" that used the frame. It will be interesting to see how effective it is. I have not seen anything about it having an oil jacket that some have mentioned. Maybe I just missed it. Anybody seen it mentioned what size the stereo speakers are?
  21. Works used to make one. Don't see it listed now but I'll bet if you shoot them an email or give them a call, they will have it. http://worksperformance.com/html/home.html
  22. Pull the left rear lens and check for water/corrosion. Have seen more than one that had water in the left rear. Not sure why, the way it sits and leans that way on the sidestand or something.
  23. I order for here. Don't know how it compares to what mraf bought but I've gotten good service from them. http://www.77ink.com
  24. I loved those old 305 Superhawks. If I remember correctly, the kick starter kicked forward instead of backwards. That's one bike that I never owned and always wanted to. Had a friend that had one and I managed to ride it a few times. Cool bikes.
