  1. In Ontario, it is mandatory that the winners name and picture be released.....of course they would make that rule to help promote their lottery.
  2. Well sadly I did not win any portion of the Power Ball lottery. What I get a kick out of though is people that win large lottery amounts and then say "My life won't change." REALLY?? Unless before the winning, you could walk into any car or bike dealer and simply buy what you wanted without having to even ask the price....your life will change. Then you also need to think about the security aspect of it....perhaps it's just my former LEO mentality but think about the security......some idiot is going to see your face on TV, realize you......or your wife......or your kids....or your dog are worth tons of money and either burglarize your home, rob you personally or kidnap a family member for ransom. You continue working and some co-worker or just a member of the public recognizes you from seeing you on TV as the winner and and suddenly they come up with some bogus lawsuit that you discriminated against them at work, or some other BS story, hoping you'll settle and simply pay them out to shut them up. After a big win you have to know that you will suddenly having an amazing number of "friends"that you haven't seen in years that want to re-connect, and charities and other groups hounding you for support. Long lost family relatives will come crawling out of the woodwork. To say "My life won't change" after a big win is just ridiculous.
  3. There is so much "other" good meat on a deer......it just begs the question......"WHY?" Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.
  4. Guess I shouldn't mention the two quart jugs full that I have sitting out in the garage then......
  5. Lary1963....I went through something similar about 20 years ago. I was lucky enough to get through it with no lasting effects but I contribute that to two things....lots of rest and my good friend was a RMT and so I had many good head and neck massages. Even after I got through it, it was still many years later if I got real tired, it still felt like that side of my face was drooping, even though it wasn't. Good luck.
  6. Man that is a gut-wrenching call to receive. Glad everyone is OK.
  7. Sorry to hear about this sad news Carl! Just glad nobody was hurt.
  8. Thank goodness she did my underwear first.. .......well there's the cause of the problem right there!! LOL!!
  9. I have been a member of this site for many years, other then a short hiatus when I bought a Wing. This site has seen me through to my third Venture and I love the technical help and general Venture related information available here from a great bunch of people. While I am not concerned about the Wing section here, I believe opening it up further to all bikes would be a mistake. There are many forums out there that are brand/model specific where people can get the information they need....just like we do here. This is a great group of people...some nuttier then others but that's what makes this a family. Where else can you get this much information and entertainment for the $1.00 per month for a membership? I'm in, I'm here to stay, and I hope the site stays the way it is.
  10. Congratulations buddy. Great milestone.
  11. Just saw two different advertisements yesterday on line for new high-tech helmets that have rear-view cameras to let you see what's coming up behind you, and other heads-up display screens that appear on the inside of the helmet's shield that can give you a wide assortment of information......maps, speed, radio station etc. While I like electronic gadgets, I'm thinking all this info in your face while you're riding isn't necessarily a good thing. I think it takes away from the simple appeal and joy of getting away on two wheels. I appreciate that the information that they want to put in the rider's view is generally valuable information, I don't think I would want all that info in my face. What's the general opinion of most riders here?
  12. Congratulations! It's not easy....I gave it up cold turkey as well about 32 years ago.......still enjoy the odd cigar but no more cigarettes. I have to say though that it was a long time before the cravings stopped.....especially walking by that 1st second or two of a freshly lit cigarette. Keep it up!!
  13. Congratulations buddy.......so should we expect to see your ads in the For Sale section with cross stitched goods, quilted jackets and wooden carved ducks??LOL! Time to start enjoying life!
  14. "how lousy their sex was"......wait a minute.......there's supposed to be sex in a marriage????
  15. Very dangerous store.....on the bank account.....love the place.....
  16. That was cool......great memories from much simpler times.
  17. Worked in a steel yard...sent the newbie for the beam straightener...
  18. My reason for being concerned about this is what I said earlier....I was under the impression that it's not wise to leave an open internet connection, from a safety standpoint. Perhaps someone with a lot more computer savvy then me....in others words most people....can chime in hear and tell me if that true or just a load of bunk.
  19. OK... just deleted all the history, closed IE and reopened and I'm still logged in. It's weird that any of the other buttons on the site work.....I can go anywhere around on the site as I could before, it's just when I hit the log out button, nothing happens...
  20. I always logged out at the end of a session under the belief that leaving an open internet connection was not safe from a security standpoint....that may or not me correct. After I logged out, I always wait for my "spinning wheel" ( the Windows busy signal) and then look at the upper right corner of the screen when the wheel stopped where one logs in to show me that I was no longer logged in. then whenever I went to the site, I was not logged in and had to then log in......now even again this morning when I got to this site, I was logged in without doing anything, and when I lit the log out button, nothing happens.
