  1. Thanks Larry. Not good news at all. That means that 100 miles of BRP will be off limits with all the loose gravel and messy tar, unless they devise a new system for doing it. We did some roads here in Brant County last year, and one would not really have known it had it not been for the 'loose gravel' signs, so it can be done somehow.
  2. Wow you2!!! Finally the plans get to have some legs, or wheels if you so desire. Good for you. We just might, that is a very little might, be in the Badlands area in July, if we do we'll let you know. Right now it's still in the tumbler wishing to get chosen I guess. Blessings on your travels.
  3. Too bad, it's on FB. Don't do FB
  4. Some things I might suggest to check out. - have you got the right airfilter and in place. - are the diaphragms seated properly, no holes. - are the slides moving as they should - are the enrichment valves returning to closed, or are 2 of them stuck (choke) - are the floats at the proper levels.

So who is this? Got more interesting photo's if you can guess this one, and if it's you,,,, don't say a word. We'll see how well your friends know you.
  7. Starter switch has been known to cause these issues, can get sticky.
  8. Best not to tinker with either, you never know what calamity comes next.
  9. Funny how things change as we get older,, I sure like my snooze in the afternoon,, and after supper,, and watching the news,,, and when I wake up,,,, oh sorry, you were changing tires??? don't have time for that now anymore, I'm just too busy with important things.
  10. Keep in mind the the bigger the gap, the later the timing, not a whole lot mind you, but then at 5000 fires per minute there is not a whole lot of time between them. I'm not really sure if this actually comes into play or if it does have any effect. At 1800rpm the plug would fire 30 times per second, I would say just looking at it that would be constant.
  11. Interesting thread, and I already knew about the instant freeze thing. Couple of comments though, one about bottled water. Caution with the extras you drink when you do this, the plastic tends to leak it's ingredients into the water, especially if it gets heated some. The other is the freezer temp. We have to deal a lot with temperatures and frozen is very important to us. Freezing something will not entirely stop the spoiling process, it only slows it down, so in time, (a long time) spoilage does occur. The best temperature to prevent spoilage is 0 degress F or lower, but lower increases the potential of freezer burn, so actual drying in the freezer. So the best overall standard is 0 degrees. 20 degrees F will allow you food to continue to spoil, howbeit at a slow rate. As an added note, you can't always tell if the food is spoiled by it's smell, for some pathogens do not give off an odor, and those same pathogens could be the type to create a toxin that cannot be rendered harmless by cooking.
  12. My gess is that you'll have to beef up the frame some, this adds weight as well. Now also consider the stress point. You beef up the frame for the last 10' or so and that will no longer give way, but now the stress point is at the front edge of the beefed up section, so you'll need to fix that, which puts the stress point further forward, until you get to the ball at the front. All that weight at the back is going to like to do it's own bouncing up and down. You'll need to 'fix' the frame, front to rear. My son likes to get a cargo trailer and then convert to a dual purpose. Summer time for camping, winter time for job site. They use an air bed and movable outside cupboards with some built-in cupboards at the front. NO need for a furnace, they use an electric heater seeing as most campsites have electric anyways, no wash room, again most places have washrooms and showers, so for the inside all they want is a bed, fridge and storage. Really quite simple and inexpensive. Consider what items you really want, rather than what would be nice, so gather your thoughts and start with a bare trailer and then start adding things and think about how you can make the necessities dual purpose, or store-able. In the end it might surprise you how much room you really need and how short you could go. Like, the toy section could become a bedroom in less than 10 minutes.
  13. It was a bit windy here as well, didn't go dark though, at least not for us. I understand it was the women's day off and they were outside mostly, so that explains it i suppose.
  14. HELLO EVERYBODY!!!! we're planning a Meet & Greet at Bongo's , short notice!!! everybody is invited. Just need to check out whether they left anything there to eat and enjoy.Hate to see anything eatable going to waste over 3 weeks!!! Have a great time buddy and wife. Do they have IC on that boat?
  15. I had one just like that,,only different. Looks like you got some things to do in your future! like riding, cleaning, repair, posting as to what and how to do it, riding, changing tires, fill the fuel tank, change the oil, riding,,,, hope you get a chance to us it. Looks Good!!!!!
  16. Sometimes we're like kids and need to be told more than once. I really don't think it my fault though, I think Bongo put my brain in gear for this one, I think he mentioned something along this line in another thread, I think. In the process I think we all learned a lot. I'm going to have to review the thread to decipher exactly what it was that we learned, but hey eh?
  17. Thanks for your prayers, we all need the input of the Master everyday. Back to you as well, you are added to the list.
  18. Try putting the original air boxes back on,,, bet it is that easy! Or restrict the airflow on the cones with some tape to test it out.
  19. Have you tried to run that video scenario with the choke pulled out? I would think that it would run like crap but if it changes the mid-power band it might help with diagnosis.
  20. Well I would say we beat the carb thing to death, so maybe it is the exhaust. My Spyder runs good, want to try that exhaust?
  21. This might help http://thumbs.ebaystatic.com/images/g/LyIAAOSwu4BVrAVF/s-l225.jpg
  22. You are aware that there are 2 ports for the air-mixture screws right? The one at the end of the port is the easy one, just blow through it and it shows it's open. The other one is trickier, it's on the side and blow open that easy. You'll need to get a tube on the end of a carb cleaner can, insert it into the screw hole and then plug the little hole in the throat with your finger, then spray the carb cleaner. If it comes out into the throat you'll need to work at it until it goes out the side. If everything is open and working right, you'll not need to turn on the air-mixture screw more than one turn from 2.5. I use a vacuum gauge to see what I'm doing with the screw, I want to obtain as high a vacuum as possible. I don't think a carb-tune is accurate enough to do that.
  23. Depends on which one you got. Last year I replaced a fuel pump on Dogmans bike but it wasn't a Facet I don't think. It did go in but was a tight fit and need a little re-routing of one of the lines I think.
  24. Looks like either the side stand relay or the flasher relay, my guess is the side stand. Check and see if the 4 way flasher work and if the side stand works as it should.
  25. On the list!!
