  1. Best get us together on the same page I think. Who's going and wants to join up. Meet at Casablanca ready to leave at 9am, cross at Niagara, Algoma about 10am and Erie at noon. That should get us there between 4 and 5.
  2. Don I hope the tractor has some rear weights, she's talking THREE AND A HALF here, that's not a light weight!!!!
  3. In that case maybe I need to withdraw my offer seeing as I don't want to be continuing on down this road,,,,, nah, can't do that, so the buck stops with you Tooch. Evan,, you thinking of parting out the 86?, if so, the radio controller would work for Ben.
  4. Let me know when you can get the seals, then I'll plan it.
  5. Yep, I was afraid that might happen, so now I feel a little bit better that my feelings were correct,,, doesn't often happen, that! my feelings are correct! But now I'm feeling bad that your MC dropped, you know it's just the first sign eh? Hopefully you can get things corrected before the weekend. Need some assistance? In the end..... WHAT A BUMMER!!
  6. This is something we must all deal with sooner or later, but that doesn't make it any easier, always tough. Blessings to the family and friends as they search their way through this part of living, may they be able to find the Peace that passes all understanding.
  7. All I had to rim was the rim closest to center, the rim that keeps or is supposed to keep your hand from going up the grip too far.
  8. https://www.kuryakyn.com/products/33/iso-grips Had to trim the oem grips at the handlebar, other than that, nice fit, a little longer than oem.
  9. When was the last time you put new plugs in it.
  10. You might have him thinking Tooch, there's room between the legs for more stuff than on the Venture!!
  11. When I opened my email this morning there was a note from VentureRiders saying that I had been mentioned!! I thought: oooo wowsie I'm important, somebody mentioned me!!! they know who I am!!! finally somebody has some sense!!! maybe I'll get rich??? are they offering me a REAL job????. You never know what might happen to you thoughts as you get older:think: !! So I hurried to the website to find all about myself and my time of fame,,,, Ya right:confused24: t'was only old Cowpuc trying to work out another story about Saddlebum and then getting me involved as an extra added feature, a fictitious story at best,,, hump!!! Ben and I sitting around a lake fishing!! Glad it didn't get any worse or folks might have been told we were downtown looking at beavers! PS Puc!!! Someday we will both go on to a much better place, but I hope I go before you,,,,, 'cause I would sure miss you here if it were the other way.
  12. I would suggest that the black you see is from overfilling the crankcase with oil. Only fill the crankcase to half ways up the site glass or it will suck the oil into the breather and create lots of problems. As far as the carbs are concerned? The hardest part of taking them to the cleaners is getting the cables off and on, the rest is time consuming but not real hard. I would take them off and clean them. I would suggest strongly to get new gaskets and rubber plugs. Somethings to be aware of as you do this. Loosen the cables as much as possible at the top end. Loosen all 4 clamps on the intake boots and then use a large screwdriver to pry them off. Watch close the routing off the return cable so that you know where it goes during re-assmble, it will fool you. Pay close attention to the order of parts on the fuel enrichment shaft. When you rejoin the carbs be sure you do this on a perfectly flat surface. Need more help, just ask.
  13. So now I'll try. Downloaded, saved it, rotated to upright position and inserted. All done and did it right. Windows 10, windows file and picture viewer.
  14. Lookin real good!! Need somebody to ride it now, or can you handle that alright?
  15. Unless you have murderilized that clutch,(slipping a lot and getting it hot enough to burn them) there should be no reason to change the steels. Probably the only thing that would be better than what you have, are brand new ones.
  16. No problem doing that for you guys, fact is, we'll do it sooner as well, like right now.
  17. See if you can find somebody close that has a working controller, swap them out to see if that's the issue. E1 could be almost anything, and if you say the voltages are out then that might be an problem. You could come to MD maybe?
  18. For starters I would bleed the clutch, just so that I would be sure there was no air in there. I would let it sit overnight and then with the handlebars turned to the right so that the MC is fully at the top, remove the MC lid and then while slightly squeezing the clutch handle, tap the line connector at the end of the MC. Easy and quick to do and might be the problem. Watch the fluid in the reservoir to see if even a tiny bubble comes up, that's all it would take. Make sure you put a large cloth under the working area.
  19. Chances are that if you go the rebuild kit route, when you pull it apart you'll find that it is not really rebuildable.
  20. Yep, I got the same question. Where is everybody?
  21. D a search for: [h=2]1FK-16381-11-00[/h]and take your choice. No sense in just getting the seals, get the whole ball of wax.
  22. Wasn't that the day that we suggested that Don have a fountain installed?
  23. If you are coming, which it looks like you are, and you have some of that Etiquette, it would be nice for you to bring a lump of it. Reason being = there are very few that have any to share and it sure would be VR style to bring something that other could use. Now that being said, there are some who have it but don't show it, there's those that show it but don't have it, but then there's those who don't have it and don't show it , so we dump them into the pond!!!
