  1. Its looking more and more like this one. Just put the jet in it.
  2. Betya never been called outdated before Condor!
  3. Kind of makes you nervous when you touch it off . But definatly does the trick. Did the ether trick a few months ago on a stubborn tractor tire. When I get new tires anymore I stretch them out using 3 or 4 cans around the bead for a few days before I install them. Makes for easier inflation.
  4. :scared:Say it isn't so! Why just today a lady driving a caddy told me I was number 1. In fact she was so happy about it, she even stuck her hand out the window so I wouldn't miss it. Bless her heart!
  5. Where on those pages is a number? I don't see no stinking number.
  6. Seems like your luck and mine run the same. We were out in Montana last month and I carry a small compact {"Slime" I believe} air compresor I had gotten as a christmas gift. So I take it out of the spiffy little zip up holder, attach it to the bike tire, plug it in and Nothing, zippo, nada. JUNK! About the only thing its good for is showing you the air pressure. Not worth the extra weight, so in the trash it went.
  7. Spray it with whatever bolt buster works for you and let it set for awhile. Make sure your screw driver fits the screw tightly and turn it with one hand while strikeing it with a hammer on the screwdrivers handle end. About the only way to heat the carb body for expansion would be to use a hair drier if it still will not turn.
  8. Not in gear. Kill switch on. Power at main fuse? Good ground? Starter soleniod quit? If so ark terminals see if that turns starter {farmer fix}. Pointed downhill for drop clutch start?
  9. Even though they are called our Mother-in-law we end up calling them Mom if your married long enough. Condolances to your family.
  10. Sometimes just draining the offending carb will remove the debris causing it to stick. Sorry to hear of your mom. Prayers for you and your family. Death is not extinguishing the light; it is putting out the lamp because dawn has come.
  11. We are all fair game to anyone who is using a cell phone while driving. Until the time that they make them unusable while driving. I give the next generations zero chance of survival if the grid goes down for any lengthy amount of time. They have become the generation of knowing everything but doing nothing in my mind. When you take away their phones they are vegetables. Unable to buy anything because they carry no hard currency and unable to interact with someone right in front of them. Lord help us all. Stay safe.
  12. Rode it in some of the strongest crosswinds I've ever experienced. Riding to Glacier national park in Montana. If you ever come here BRING PLENTY OF MONEY! It's supposed to be America's least visited National Park now I no why!
  13. Sorry I missed this earlier but glad she's ok. Tell her that she is not the only one to not see a gray vehicle. I can't tell you how many times I have pulled out in front of gray vehicles. They seem to blend into the background. The new red car is pretty and should be very dependable. Now stay off that toe for awhile.
  14. Prayers up.
  15. I read somewhere to beware of the old style glass fuses that are made in China. Seems some of them would not blow thereby frying whatever they were running.

    Printer ink

Just a heads up to everyone. I don't have a high end printer just a old cheap Wallys Kodak that takes number 30 ink. Well I got tired of buying Wally world Kodak refills and only getting very few printouts before it needed printer ink again. So I ordered some cheapos from e-bay for next to nothing apiece. Well long story short, I've run many, many copies off and still have 90 pecent of ink left. That crap in Wallys world is JUNK. Save your money buy elsewhere. nothing more, nothing less.
  17. The beginning of this thread was "Pray for the USA". But I feel we all should not only do this but also write your congressman or woman. If you do not voice your opinion occasionally he or she does not know how their constituents feel or think. I have done this many times and have recieved back responses to my e-mails. I served some years in various positions in my towns government and believe me the old saying [ The squeaky wheel gets the grease] is sooooooooooooooo true!
  18. It will definately be the touring Can-am Spyder. I like the idea of being able to sit on the back and letting the wife drive for awhile. My son has already spoken for my 86 so I can still ride it if I feel up to it. Its not getting any easier to hold up as I get older. Looking back on life I wish I would have bought a tourer long before I did. Make note - Buy touring bike sooner in next life!
  19. Don't know about the color difference between the two halves of the leaf. But I would say that the spots look to be Black Rot. For it to be active there will be tiny little black specks on the colored spots. Rain washes the specks off of the leaf onto another leaf or fruit to spread the disease. This is prevalent around here if we have alot of frequent rainfall. Just a farmers guess, not a sure bet.
  20. Its to heavy for my old keester. I hope momma yama sells a billon of them. If I was a younger man I'd say sure why not. It is a YAMAHA one of the most reliable brands on the road. If that was not true these old Ventures wouldn't still be running. As the boss said WELCOME to any new Venture owners when they show up here.
  21. Unusual if nothing else.
  22. Skid were you ever a enduro rider? Them guys were the orignal Mcgivers. Myrtle Beach and relaxation go together. Enjoy yourself.
  23. Every Journey is an adVenture.
  24. Ok, in looking at the pictures on e-bay there was one seller that took multiple pictures of a 83 rear footpeg in excellent condition. I thought why not spring for it being it was only $14.40 with free shipping. Well it came yesterday. I took it out to the garage and took the cotter pin out and pulled out the pin to remove it from the 83 holder. Took mine off and lo and behold it fit perfectly. No removing the rubber or anything! Thanks for the answers. Momma Yamaha used their heads for once unstead of making whole new units.
