  1. Went out to check the battery on the 86 this afternoon, powered up fine, but since the last time I turned the key about a month ago, it has decided that the low brake fluid light should be on. I read a few threads here this afternoon, found the rear resevoir was a bit low, brought it up, no change. Now, I read something about a possibility of resoldering the computer? Are there any threads that deal directly with that? I couldn't find any, and not that I"m really looking to do something like that, it would be good to at least have the reference. Thanks. Joe
  2. Thanks guys, that gives me quite a bit more to go on. Think I may have jumped the gun a little, though. I dried it off and went back to check it about 30 minutes later and it was really obvious that it was leaking from the hose into the housing from the radiator. Loosened, repositioned and retightened the clamp and so far it's holding. Fingers crossed.
  3. Hey Guys, Well, it wasn't 2 days I'd had the new bike home and it started marking its territory with a few drops of green. A little investigation showed the thermostat housing to be the culprit. Now, I'd bought it at a shop where it had been kept nice and warm, whereas I only have cold storage, and of course, it had been around 10 degrees when I noticed this. I was wondering if this is something I might be able to expect as it looks like the housing is plastic, or am I gonna have to go in after it? If I have to go in, the manual that I downloaded seems to be a bit vague, how the heck do I get to it? They made that a little tight.
  4. I found an old thread where this was addressed, and yeah, new ones are pricey. We're planning to do quite a bit of 2 place, but she does have her own Ipod , so I'm sure it won't be too big of a deal. However, I'm leary of the head slap, she's got a pretty good vantage for a kidney shot...
  5. I was going through the book and taking appraisal (yet again) of my new purchase yesterday, and found that I am missing the passenger CB/Radio Remote switch. Now, I don't know how necessary or how well they work, but it would be nice to have it nonetheless, so I was wondering where one might get their hands on one of these switches. Thanks.
  6. The fun part was getting that, a Suzuki GS850 and my car in that garage, but I did it, everything's inside. Now, when the snow's gone, it'll all be back outside where it belongs!
  7. Okay, here's my new toy. Hope I did this right.
  8. I officially joined the ranks of 1st gen owners today, and can't wait for the riding season to start. She's a really pretty little brown number with 43,000, and her previous owner put a lot of time and effort into keeping her looking and running good. I feel pretty lucky to have found it and plan on putting quite a few miles on it when I get the chance. Might even use it to replace my car for the long commute to work this year. Now, if only there was something I could do about that cassette deck...
  9. I believe I saw one on ebay yesterday, looked decent and the price didn't strike me as too bad either.
