  1. Sierra electronics might have something I just removed the cassette player and made it a box for my wallet .Then I moved the audio in down next to a accessory plug also ran one to the trunk along with an accessory plug. Most of what I listen to is MP3 off the phone or GPS
  2. I had a blinker not working . After getting to light bar off .The left bulb was so rusted into the socket everything fell apart I could use a set of front blinkers if any one has a set the want to get rid of I did see some on Ebay If a member has a set I will would rather get it here I can wait a few days Its a 2000 RSV Text me if you have one Be safe
  3. Sometime we just need to Agree to Disagree. To hear both sides positive and negative for me is a good thing. Be it -- Oil - Tires - a new seat - Harley - Goldwing - Is a Slingshot a motorcycle ( my opinion is no ) They are pretty neat I have to say - the list goes on Some times it could save a person from making a purchase or decision only find out later it would not have worked for them Everyone is entitled to there opinion . We are all friends and we all enjoy our rides whatever it may be. Yamaha is not making anymore Ventures . This forum will eventually change that's OK. To me this forum is not just about the Venture Sometimes you need to suck it up and move on. I have never met a person from VR I have not liked I have heard some opinions I disliked but that is OK Be safe
  4. Yes I am . I like it I have not been out to try it on the bike. It has worked everyplace I have plugged it in
  5. I was a member a few years back . My schedule just did not fit their camping schedule I renewed last year . Robin and I will be attending the national down in Kentucky in June from there we are heading to Oberlin OH for MD at Freebirds It would be nice to meet a few other VR / IBMC members to camp with. We are riding either the Venture or the Tour Deluxe with a Bunkhouse in tow We will also be doing the Indiana and Illinois this year as well. In July I am planning on hosting a camp out here in OH Either down at lake Snowden or up in the Pickerington / Baltimore OH area at the Moose lodge I belong to These camp outs will be open the both VR and IBMC members We are looking for a few other MC campers to connect with and share a few long weekends Waiting on warmer days
  6. Drones have not been my interest. Thanks, Now I gots to get me one of those That is pretty slick
  7. These are nice . I had one a few years ago and used it for 2 years before getting the bunkhouse I have now. Likes are: Pulls real nice Very easy to set up ( got into Asheville NC one year in the rain Kickstand down and in the camper in 5 minutes ) The hard top and rail allows the option to carry additional cargo. Decent storage. Small footprint makes it easy to store. My Dislikes are : Only good for 1 person it will fit 2 but it will be tight ( I was 240 lbs and 5.11 at the time ) and it was just enough Getting dressed while laying down. No place for a heater if you needed one. No place to get out of the weather You can make a box for the top of the HF trailer with a hard top and pack yourself a nice size tent and a couple of good cots or a King air mattress As for pulling 300 pounds you should have no problems. When we head out we are 2 up pulling an easy 400 pounds. Like pulling a trailer with car you need to use the same cautions. If you want to get into motorcycle camping . Try . http://www.ibmc.org/default.asp http://www.motocampers.com/ Found this on the IBMC classified section. For Sale - 2009 Bunkhouse Lil `B` Camping Trailer, good tires, clean $2,000. Contact Gene Allen 319-210-6719 in Texas. Be safe Dave Wells
  8. Bought this on Ebay a couple of weeks ago It works on everything I tried so far. Going to get a couple more. Gonna try it on the MC this week when I am out in the garage. Plugs into the line in on any system or you can plug a headset into it . Now I should be able to connect my phone or GPS with out a cable. 3.5 mm Bluetooth adapter
  9. When I was a child We had a neighbor Mr Anderson . He would make ornaments for the neighbors. He passed away back in the early 1970's I remember mt parents would have to come round me up , I would walk over and hang out with Mr Anderson Some times I would come home with some of his garden fixtures he had made.
  10. I guess just seeing some friends over the holidays . I am looking forward spending another year with the honey.
  11. There is always room for pie. Happy Thanksgiving Dan . Say hello to Deb
  12. Try shopping online Amazon Seafoam I just cant bring myself to pay 11.00 for a bottle unless it is to fix a problem. Same reason I stopped using Plexus to clean my windshield.
  13. Menards had Seafoam for 6.98. The website still list it 6.98. We have a bunch of them in Ohio I have never noticed a higher price from them. I have also purchased it on Amazon.com for the same price I cleaned out a 20 year old snow blower with the stuff last fall The thing has not run this good since I purchased it in 1995
  14. I put a new clutch in the Venture a couple of weeks ago. At that point I realized I need to get the garage organized. That Night ordered a new tool chest and organized all my hand tools Then realized I needed a better work platform So I ended Up building an 8 ft bench the following weekend Now that I have all that done I have some room again. I have an old BSA chopper in the garage I have owned since I was 17. I plan to do some work on it. The bike has not been on the road since 1994. If I get up and running I may take the next year a little at a time and get road ready. It was running a few years back . With the RSTD and Camping and guitar lessons I kinda let it sit. My main project to be ready for spring is to . 1. I Need to Replace the clutch on my RSTD 2. I would like to do a rear diff swap on the Venture. 3. Replace the Metzler rear tire with an Avon Cobra. I do like the Avon on the front . This spring I will need a replacement on the rear 4. Replace the petcock on the venture 5. Both need fuel filters replaced 6. Plan out a few camping trips for 2016 Money is what make the decision
  15. Let us know how you make out. I have a similar issue, My 06 RSTD when new would be around 170 miles to reserve. The past few years it around 125 - 130 miles My 2000 Venture is consistant at 170 miles to reserve I would love to get those miles back. I dont want to spend the money at the dealer.
  16. I ran 40 psi in my shock it failed. It was a slow death . I replaced it with a Hagan heavy duty shock. It was an easy install and I like it. My RSTD shock failed at around the 20 replaced it unelder warranty At 51 k still going.
  17. Glad we could be of help to you . If you need a place to stay for the night when you come to get it we can make room for ya
  18. Craig , I am Heading over around 6:00 to look at it. I will get back to you later on it . I had talked to Robin Wednesday about maybe trading my 2 for 1 and some cash . I wont jump ya on it They did tell they just got it in on trade and the service dept had not even gone over it yet . I said I still want to see it they are open till eight . There is one sale guy i think is just the best if I can get hold of him I will pawn you off on him Later
  19. It is great the hear your health has improved. I bet you happy you can get a few rides before putting the bike away for the winter. Be safe
  20. Looking forward to a fun weekend . If you cant camp come join us for a ride. Join us Thursday Friday or Saturday night for a camp fire. Yes I called they will have wood
  21. Some info on the mortorcycle rentals and lodging if you can share it Pictures ..... I assume you rented.
  22. I had the same issue. The pump would not die it died twice on the road Most of the time it would be a pain to it going after it sat for a few days Shop told me the same thing after it was picked up at my home and taken to the shop . Yes it started and gave them no trouble. I told the shop to keep the bike it is under warranty and need to be resolved I don't want it back until it is fixed Then asked for the phone number to the person they spoke to at Yamaha So... It took some talking to . After doing a few of the suggestions people have posted You need to call Yamaha and explain the problem. Be nice to them Tell them everything you did that leads you to believe it is the fuel pump You purchased this bike as a touring bike . You would like it fixed while it is here in the garage Not while out on a tour a few hundred miles from home Yamaha has a good and a solid motor and a good reputation and you understand that an intermittent problem is hard to to fix How ever I have a problem with the engine just cutting out as if it ran out of fuel, I need this resolved before I am stranded on the side of the road and not in a very good mood Due to the bike towed a shop and myself in a hotel waiting for a part to resolve an issue that could be resolved over the phone with Yamaha in this very moment. It worked for me ..
  23. What year you looking at ? I have a 2005 Bunkhouse Purchased in 2009 it has the 6 ft room It pulls real nice, You just need to balance the load So for it has held up. I will need to look into replacing the screens. over the next year or so Other than that have no complaints It sets up easy I you use a heater make sure you wipe the ceiling down with a towel even with windows partly open it will get condinsation Cleaning the ceiling over the the bed of any mildew is a real pain in the ass. I few guy here have the Aspens which I have not heard any negatives either We are camping down in Southern Ohio this weekend . Come on down
