Cant ride drive .

Looks like myself and John He had the VTX Last year. we will be there sometime in the evening I figure around 6:00 John is bringing his RV so we will have fire wood and the large coffee pot and electric griddle He is also in need of breaking in his new Cam am. I am going to pick up some food during the week . I may cook something in the dutch oven again Rock house has a picnic area with a few grills looks like a good place to have some dogs for lunch and see the cave

Been running Metzlers for awhile now. on my RSTD and Venture Rear 41 Front 36 I found filling to max was a rigid ride I have the rear at about 48 and fron at 40 I weigh in aboat 295 and my passenger lets just she is small The cupping on the front left side of the tire, After some looking in it does cup and wear more than others 13,000 or so miles later. I learned this,Last week was the first time I took the time to remove and take the tire to the shop I have a friend witha Honda VTX 1800 front tire worn the exact some as my 2000 Venture I am now running an Avon Cobra on the front at around 300 miles I like it so far at avonrecomended psi Cobra has a 15,000 warranty Just my 2 pennies.

I have been running Metzler tires for some time and getting some high mileage from them. Metzler tires have never given me any problems and have averaged between 14,000 and 19,000 miles per tire Last night I put on an Avon Cobra . They had good reviews and a mileage warranty of 15,000 miles. You need to register the purchase. I figured for $128.00 I may as well try it out out.

I just replaced my OEM with a Hagon last Tuesday. Got out for around 400 miles this weekend 150 of it pulling the camper. I wish I had replaced it sooner . What a difference. I think I need some front end woork now

I feel your pain. I have the same issue. I don't think you bought a lemon The whine on my 2000 Venture drives me up a F'n wall . More with out a helmet. some days I just could not wait to park the thing. Earplugs fixed that and they are cheap I thought of selling it but felt bad about selling someone my problem so its here to stay I have tried all the recommended fixes with the exception of the I Basket swap no luck. My passenger says she doesn't hear a thing ( Lucky Her ) This winter if I have the time I may do the swap 2 years and 20,000 miles later. I just decided to put in some soft ear plugs The ear plugs work great I can hear everything but the loud whine I have a 2006 Tour deluxe with a very low pitched whine . with plugs in that's how my Venture sounds Yamaha 20 -50 semi synt oil did help the tour deluxe but did nothing for the venture . it is worth trying the oil. If you need to check over the bike , check to shock for any leaking oil will lead to failure These are solid machines if you just take care of them and ride them Be safe and enjoy the ride...

Thanks for all the input . I took the shock out today it took about an hour to get the bike jacked up and get it removed. The new shock should be here on Monday. My exhaust gasket showed up to day, That blew out on me last Saturday Over the winter I may go ahead and replace the front springs and the pressure plate for the clutch. I feel it should pull a little smoother with the trailer on hills. My RSTD pulls the camper way better I have only had this bike 2 years now. Being a 15 year old cycle it needs a few things.

Darn Bike is like riding a po-go stick. I ordered a new Hagon shock last night. It shipped today should have by weeks end. I will be getting the old one out while I wait on delivery Just wondering if there is anything i should be aware of or do while replacing the old one. Blew a muffler gasket over the weekend as well. Ordered 2 of those from boats.net

What a Beautiful Day Saturday turned out to be We manage around 250 miles doing our annual Dice run We took a ride out to Warther Meseum in Dover Ohio. All these trains were carved by hand . The materials were Wood , Ivory and some of the older models had soup bones bleached by the sun . Ivory was use later when he could afford it. This place has to one of the best places I have visited . Google the images from the Museum you will find plenty on it If you get a chance its worth the visit. My 02 Venture Last weekend while getting ready to head home from a visit to Captjoe in WV When I went to start the bike just a loud click and nothing a boost fixed that drove it home battery seemed OK I put it on the tender on Monday Started it Yesterday Today getting ready to head to Dons MD I went to start it and a loud click an nothing. I know it not the battery due to the lights staying on the entire time trying to start it It sounds like the starter not engaging or turning slow. after pressing the starter button several time it started like normal shut it off and it started again Any thoughts The upside I still have my 06 RSTD so I just swapped the hitch and wired the gps aired up the tires and it ready to go Did not get there tonight like planned We should be there by 10:30 am Friday

Check the trunk for cracks Brake and clutch fluids look clean ? if not flush them out when you get home Check the brake pads Change the rear diff oil The should give you a new battery . I believe that would fall into selling a running bike If it has been sitting run some premium gas and seafoam if its on sale or any good cleaner . Then just ride it like you stole for a few tanks of fuel
