I came on board last year and couldn't agree more about this group. Good people is what makes a group like this succeed. No If I could get my wife more comfortable on the back. . . . . .

Jacking Up My TC
bpate4home replied to N3FOL's topic in Star Venture and Eluder Tech Talk ( '18 - Present)
I have the Pitbull Jack which is similar. While it lifted my 06 Venture well I have the same issue with the weight being more in the back of the bike. I normally put a piece of 1x2 under the back side and tie down (with ratchet straps) the front part of the riser before I even try to lift the bike. That seems to help a lot. Then once in the air I tie down to the base of the stand for more security while I wrench on it. -
There's a guy on Youtube that takes revenge on Scammers. Search ScammerRevolts. He has what is called a HoneyPot machine setup, basically a disposable setup that can be rebuilt just with a quick reboot. As they're trying to take over he machine deleting files etc he's killing their machine on the back end. Some of these are hilarious. I watched one last week where he changed all the scammers passwords and had the scammer crying and begging to get the password from him.

Love food on the Grill. My 25 year old Natural Gas grill finally bit the dust. We were actually having company and getting ready to start the grill when we found the issue. Ended up breaking out the fire pit and used a cooking grate over open fire using Tulip wood and oak. Steaks and vegetable skewers still came out awesome. Time to start looking at a new one.

I understand what you are saying, and no I'm not terribly surprised by what it could do and by your example still can do. I moved on from that to RBase then DBase multiple proprietary garbage stuff due to need. The company i'm with today uses mostly MS SQL and some MySQL. I had to look up what replaced Q&A because I just didn't remember. It was a product called Sesame. To my surprise they are still around and still support Q&A DB Transition from the looks of it. Support current windows versions and Linux.

I haven't seen that in 25 - 30 years. You know they make other DB's. May be time to upgrade to something in this century

Wow, someone still running 16 Bit apps. I know the 64 Bit version of the OS will run the 32 Bit apps but 16 Bit. What type of app would that be?

The Solitude when Solo and the Peace it gives at all times. Even when things around me on the road are nuts. The attention to detail when riding. I see more because I am part of the environment around me. Overall, It's just so darn relaxing .

Man, 10 days without riding and I had withdrawal symptoms.

Yesterday was a rain out here in Houston. I did get to ride to work today. A little road spray but morning therapy completed and waiting anxiously for the afternoon session. -
As an update to the Hybrid mask I mentioned earlier. I've been using it for about a week now and like it more than a standard size that I ordered another yesterday. The full mask gives me a rash on the cheek where it comes up to the nose. That is now going away. I have difficulty breathing through my nose alone for several reasons, like others above it's been broken and probably more than once. It's a little difficult to get the strap tension set right but unlike the full face mask I had I find that a more loose tension actually created a better seal on my face. I toss and turn a lot and this mask seems to make me feel more comfortable. I was off Monday for MLK Day and Sunday night I slept ~8 hours. I can't tell you the last time that happened if ever. I've also gotten a solid 6 hours each night since the switch. For me it works. I bought it from CPAP.com in a kit for ~$135. It comes with the strap, holder and 3 masks. I'm giving this site a plug because the price was near the lowest cost and the mask kit came with a 'Return Insurance'. Basically if I didn't like it I could return it at no cost. Some of their masks you have to buy the return insurance separate.

Let's hope they never have to do what the WWII generation had to do. I do believe that they could, we could, if really put to the task. I am always amazed by the human resiliency and our will to do what is needed. I've seen this in the recent generations more on the lines of natural disasters. I live in Houston now and during Hurricane Harvey the out pouring by everyone, locals or from other states, was awesome to see. It was not just boomers out their, I saw plenty of millennials too. I believe that if another situation of WWII were to come the same people who go out of their way to aid those they do not know will rise to the occasion. I know neither of my boys would hesitate. Remember the rise in enlistments after 9/11.

I didn't have nightmares but high levels of anger. I've seen some stuff more on the inhumane (now that I think more about it, the wrong side of human nature) before I even had a license for a car. BTW I had a motorcycle only license until I was almost 18. This obviously was not in war / combat. There's no way I would ever compare it to that. I had this under control by suppressing feelings in general. But, these started to come back several years ago. It was a time of very high level of stress between work and my home life. I was able to get it back under control, just in a different manner. I've never been in the military as my dad, who was in the Navy during the occupation of Japan, pushed hard for me not to join. This was part of his reasoning even though he would not talk about it. I got involved with a MC 'Group' that was not only on the wrong side of the law but also not in their right minds. I don't look at any of this with regret, well maybe a little as my sons, especially my youngest, struggle with anger issues too. That, I definitely regret passing on to them. There are many things I would do differently if I could but I have accepted that I cannot change these I can only affect when I do in the present.
-
Look forward to it. I was on a sketchy slope early in life. Before I got married at 20 and a kid by 21, so yeah real young. Early stuff caused a lot of anger issues and I still swear today if it wasn't for my wife I'd be in prison or dead.

It's called the Airfit 30 (https://www.resmed.com/us/en/consumer/products/masks/airfit-f30.html). I just started using it Tuesday of this week. I've spent the last couple of nights tweaking the fit. Last night was pretty good. It fits under the nose and around the mouth. When it is fitted correctly it presses to the bottom of the nose where it has openings for the nasal passages and then comes around the mouth under the lower lip. Much smaller and seems more comfortable. I've had it a little tighter than I wanted the first couple of nights so last night was the first with less tension on the straps. That being said though I just came back from a 10 day business trip where I was putting in 14+ hour days the first 8 days so I was pretty tired the last couple of nights. I can give more feedback after a little more use. BTW I just read its compatible with the mini.

I hope to see you published. I can relate.

Morning Sir, I've been on and off again thinking about the mini for a while. How is the noise level of the machine? Specs indicate it's quite a bit louder than the Airsense 10 I have. The noise of my current one occasionally bothers my wife. As I said earlier in the thread I've been trying one of the new hybrid masks and last night I finally got the tension of the straps set pretty well. So far I like it more than a regular full face.

Man, sorry to hear that. I fortunate to ride to work nearly every day. But, Riding is Therapy. I think I'm going to make that my new tag line. -
My Wife and kids complained for years. I was even on a different floor of the house than the kids and they would come to wake / shut me up. I would normally get about 3 hours of sleep a night. The sleep study in of itself is ridiculous. How can anyone sleep at all with a couple hundred wires connected to you. Anyway, I did stop breathing with a lot of regularity. It was either a CPAP or facial reconstruction to correct the problem. I travel a lot and went with the ResMed AirSense 10. It has a humidifier tank and is small enough overall for easy travel. In the bag its about 13"x13"x4". It has worked well for me. Masks can vary from just nasal to full face. I have a beard and the small full faced mask is what I have used for the last 2 years. It comes under my lower lip and up over my nose. I just started trying a hybrid mask that covers my mouth and uses nasal cushions. We will see on this. None of these are comfortable in my opinion but I now get 5 - 6 hours of solid sleep a night and I do feel better. I've also put on too much weight over the last 5 years. Too much food and not enough moving around and I feel it. The problem I have here is pushing the plate away when at restaurants (traveling). It's a thing I have about wasting food.

Quick Ride up See Canyon Road (near Cal Poly)

I'm Jealous. Stuck in Boston on a business trip. -
That was cool to watch. The effect was gorgeous. I'm more of a wood guy and made a bit of our furniture. Finally getting to a point where I can work on setting up my garage, 3 car tandem, that I share with my wife's Tahoe and of course the SVTC. I might have to look into some forging down the road a ways though.

I'm not a collector or even remotely knowledgeable on the styles of knives. I've just been a 'user' all my life. My wife picked this up for me when we were on a ride in Terlingua TX. She says it was made by a local there but is was a Christmas present so I didn't get to ask a lot about it. I do know the handle is alternating Walnut and Antler, the blade appears to be Damascus style to me. Just started watching Forged in Fire so what do I know

You can check the Service manual page 7-84. The manual is here. https://www.venturerider.org/manuals/2018servicemanual.pdf. 'No Normal signals from the switch are received by the ECU.'
