Sold! I can't wait to do mine. Looking at Ivan's website. It looks like he will be on vacation until early September.  But I will definitely send mine to him next month. I will keep you posted. Thank you for the quick response.

No problem. Don’t know where you are, but his shop is only 2.5hrs away from me in Greenville, SC.  I was gonna ride the bike down and have him pull it out and put it back in for $50 (his price), but rain said no. I pulled the ECM myself and drove it down and waited while he did it (20 minutes) and had it installed same day.

I want to do the Ivan's flash also. How do you like your throttle response? Ivans advertises that the reflash will make your throttle response smoother. Also, have you noticed a heat reduction?

@Red Rocket YES on all accounts.

Bike throttle response is both smoother and quicker. Shifting seems to be smoother as well. Definite reduction in heat as well. Someone posted a laser reading of theirs and it’s about 100 degrees less.

He also does a 3rd tune. Apparently there’s room in the ECM for a third program. In that program 100% throttle comes on much sooner and faster. He said it’s much more like actual cable throttle response vs YCT.  It definitely makes it scoot!  Accessing it is effortless. Just push the “MODE” button to cycle through “T” and “S” and then the final one all that shows is the word “MODE” and that’s the 3rd tune.

There probably is no best day they are all good! Are you talking for a ride or just sitting and enjoying the stories and maybe drinking some ice cold water.

Well, would like to ride with you guys and then sit around camp visiting for a while before heading back in the evening.

  4. It’s not just FB that gets their panties in a wad. I was part of a forum that unfortunately was run by liberals. There was a convo about vaccinations and masks. One guy who was a lower admin, I shredded his argument with logic before another senior admin jumped in to help him in his error.

The problem was is that these liberals thought that because they were “admin” that their opinion on a subject gave them an unquestionable stance. I’m sorry, but unless you’re dealing with a site policy violation, EVERYTHING an admin says regarding a subject is subject to the same scrutiny as anyone else’s opinion. They didn’t see it that way.

Now I’m banned from the site because I wouldn’t cowtow to it. They even lied about a violation I didn’t commit to get me “re-banned” after another admin let me back on.  It’s sad and their loss. They even went so far as to block my IP address, so regardless that I can’t post anything, I can’t even look at the site! Talk about petty!

  5. Hey Guys, WHEN is this event again?

I don’t think I can stay even for a night but the area is only 1.5hrs from me and I’d love to just shoot out there and spend the day with ya.

ABSOLUTELY 100% ROCK SOLID FACT @ChiefGunner!  All stickers on Tweeksis are also EARNED stickers.. Well,, ok,, I take that back,, there have been a couple people from other countries (like @Aussie Annie and Jonas from Iceland - for the life of me I cant remember Jonas's screen name, old age I reckon..) who brought Tweeks stickers from their homeland and those are on there BUT,, that is only a couple stickers and WELL LOVED.. All the rest are earned stickers just like the colored in map areas. word of note Chief, that is a LIFETIME of touring, not a retirement of touring. I/we are sooo glad I/we didnt wait. We were homeschoolers and I spent many years in self employment so I would grab 1 kid out of 4 and go chase across the country (GREAT MEMORIES AND BONDING) and Tip would stay home and care for the other 3 (hard on marriage). That started in 1987 on my 1st MK1 - a blonde the kids named "Beeg" (short for Big Girl). The blonde side covers on our current 83 are from that original MK1 from long ago. Those Blonde covers are the only piece of our 6 bikes to have actually covered over 1 million miles.  Also, the stickers are an accumulation between all bikes too as are the map colors. I have always wanted to fill in Alaska and western Canada, its been a forever dream but by the looks of things I/we are timed out. My deepest wish and prayer for you my friend is that you and your gorgeous scoot and precious wife will get the blessing from God to get to see ALL of it, even the ones we missed.. Puc P.S. -  I dont have much in pics from the real old days of Beeg but I do think I have one,, hold on,, I will see if I can find one.. 2101571702_sleepinonthedesert.jpg.a1fc239c56513f4fc1ea88254b2dbda3.jpg774066926_1atkaths.jpg.44a70887cb7086e45465ac0067cbfe9d.jpg

Wow @cowpucthat’s a lot of traveling!  I’m not sure it’ll take us a “lifetime”. The 8 Western states I have colored in were all done on one 20 day tour. Some places we stayed in up to four days. When on the road though we did average 500-600 miles per day and camped the whole trip.  I was much younger then. Now it would be hotel each night and only setting up campsite if we’d be there at least 2 days.

Its our local "bike time" here in Muskegon Mi! Tip and I are going to treat Tweeksis to the very very best treat of all, we plan to go do a ride thru!! TWEEKS WILL LOVE THIS!!!

I’ll tell ya @cowpuc I love your map on your “signature”. You’ve been able to do what I’m planning (Lord willing) of doing when I retire.  If you’re like me, you only colored in states that you actually rode on 2 wheels in right?

  8. Well, it’s not what I did with my Venture, but what I did to my buddy’s Goldwing.

Installed trunk chrome/led trim as well as an XKGlow led light kit.  Here’s the video of him showing off his lights. Yes, I wired it  up so that all go RED with brakes AND the appropriate side flashes yellow with the turn signals.

Now THATS what I am talking about and sounds like what I have heard about Ivan. One nice thing about Ivan's shop is they are very personable type of folk, including Ivan himself. I had some questions years ago about building a V-twin up/compression ratio's and adding a gear driven turbo to a HD. They were very open to discuss what they had found and how to work around tuners and such. GOOD people! A side note on the "scary" 3rd program @ChiefGunner,,, brother aint NOTHING wrong with that! Having a scoot that scares you when you want it to is actually TONS of fun! Good on ya! So does your Ivan tune have the capibilty of removing or altering the rev limiter and speed limiter? Can you (or a dyno guy) access its fuel/ignition parameters? I LOVED the original HD "super tuners" that are now outlawed because they gave us gearheads access to fully control ALL parameters and adjust fuel/ignition in 200 rpm increments. If you had a small flat spot anywhere in the full (unlimited if you disabled the rev limiter, dangerous to the motor but a valuable asset if you were really wanting to run er) rpm range you just tweeked till ya got er dialed in. I am an old carb guy who spent HOURS dialing in my race bikes and those super tuners were MAGICAL. Anyway Chief,, I am happy for you! Sounds like fun! Let er buck - Puc

Actually @cowpuc he did all that within the program. Fuel proportions, throttle response percentages, changed rev limit from 4500 to 5500 rpm. Also enable cruise to be set at lower speeds and in all gears.

    It’s pretty different from stock.

  10. Ivan’s Tuning SVTC UPDATE:
Just got back from a test ride.
    WOW!
    Feels like a new bike!
In Touring mode there’s no bog down taking off from start (used to happen occasionally). Power is smooth and linear.
Sport mode seems to be more “awake”. Take offs are quicker, more pull bottom & at top end too. No popping on decel, very smooth.
The 3rd program he did is crazy! Puts Sport mode to shame.
Pulls like a freight train all the way past redline!
I had to back off. It was too scary. Gonna take some getting used to.
Also, up & down shifting is much smoother. No clunkiness like it used to be.
With the drilled pipes you can HEAR the difference in program 3. It has a much faster throttle response and a stronger “roar”!
After only a 20 minute ride I can’t say definitively, but it seems like it has less heat than before.
I’ll know more when I can ride it for a while and compare.
Have to wait until this nasty weather abates before I can really do a test ride. For now, I’m exhilarated with the results!

BUMMER my friend,,, I cant even IMAGINE having that work done on your gorgeous machine and not being able to at least toss a leg and let er buck. Excited for you Chief cause I have heard LOTS of great things about Ivan's tunings.. Puc

Hey there @cowpuc! Good to see you here ya lop eared varmint! 😁 I'm hoping to find a break for an hour today to maybe test it.

I’m on my way home with module in hand then have to install it.  I’m excited because he has put a THIRD tune in here. Touring, Sport & his own. Dyno results look great I can’t wait!

  12. Well, today I disassembled the SVTC to pull the ECM. Tomorrow I’m going down to “Ivan’s Tuning” and going to have him installed his performance mod flash.

I had hoped to ride the bike down and have it done then ride it home but severe weather going through the area necessitated a change in plans. He said it should only take about 15-20 minutes to complete it.  The real bummer is that I may not get to test it until Monday.

I believe most of what was said above is true.  But we've lost so much more.

America  use to be a melting pot. The beacon of everything good.

Gone are the days of :

Working together towards a common goal (some are quick to point out our differences.)

Personal responsibility for one actions (it's always someone/something else's fault)

JFK's “Ask not what your country can do for you – ask what you can do for your country,” (now reversed)

Clear cut Winners and losers (no need to try and better yourself) (today everybody gets a participation trophy)

Family oriented(peoples lives centered around it)

Earning a living and feeling good about ones contributions(why bother, Uncle Sam will send you a check)

On paper, it would seem to be easy to fix, but the reality of it is, we'd have to have the same Goal, and we do not.

Life isn't meant to be easy, it's our struggles that makes us strong.

    OK, gonna go hide now.

Dude! @Joe in WV you’re “preachin” good! Couldn’t have said it better myself.

I moved here (Northern Cali) in 1989, from the midwest and settled in San Jose in 1994, when I bought the house I still live in today.   In the 80's/90's, California still had that magical place feeling to it where anything was possible and dreams came true.  Even my family loved coming out to visit me and see all things CA.  I worked in the Silicon Valley tech world for 20+ years and there was a sense of community and respect for others here, both in neighborhoods and in the work culture.  Somewhere along the way since then, this dream has turned into a nightmare.  There is not one single thing I could pinpoint that brought the change, but there are a handful of things I believe brought it on.  Out of respect of forum rules, I won't go there though.

San Jose used to be a nice place to live.  Now it is filthy, trash & graffiti everywhere, homeless camps at every  intersection and along our creeks, polluting them.  Crime is rampant, cars are regularly broken into, etc.  We pay the highest taxes in the country, but have the worst of everything.

Sorry to unload all of that guys, Its become borderline depressing for me, so thanks for allowing me a small bit of therapy here.  I've managed to spend more time out of state this last year, traveling & visiting family in the midwest.  I think that's the only thing keeping me sane at this point.  One thing that does give me a little hope is how many people from the neighborhood came out on Sunday and expressed their outrage.  When enough of us get fed up, things will change, one way or another....history tells us so.

Well @circa1968 I feel your pain. Lived in SanDiego and surround counties for 31yrs before retiring from the Navy in 98. The sprawl, the illegals, the insane regulations and policies I saw coming in over the years was sad. We left to North Carolina in 2009 and I know it hasn’t got better since then. California has become a “GRANOLA BOWL”!  Nothing but NUTS, FRUITS & FLAKES!!

I see  you have visitors with a white van,,,,,, red bike, red car, red tree,,,,,,, I likey that color.

Yeah, apparently I do too @Marcarl😁

The white van is my work truck for my business.

  16. Well, despite the custom seat and the console wrap along with the saddlebag lowers of course the trailer had to have a matching bra. Today completes the “wrapping” as I had the spoiler on the trailer wrapped to match the bra.

Not sure about “brighter” there @N3FOL.  I’m using the OEM lights but re-wiring them internally to accommodate a sequential module.

UPDATE: Well, after warming the light up in the oven at 200 degrees for 10 minutes to soften the seal and get it apart I find the LEDs are mounted to a sealed circuit board with no access to connect a remote sequencing module.  That being said, here’s what’s up. My wife was a circuit board designer in Space Systems at General Dynamics for many years, and my background in electro-mechanical engineering hope is not lost.  I’ve designed a sequential light circuit and with the board measurements now complete the wife is going to lay out the circuit within the size/shape parameters needed, and then we’ll send it out for production.

Once we get the prototype back and installed, I’ll use video of my bike as advertising. This will work out for the best as it will truly be “plug n play”.  Just remove 5 screws, unplug the light, install the new and plug it in, that’s it.

If this goes as well as hoped, I plan on creating the same thing for the mirror turn signals.  Thanks for your patience while we get this perfect.

  18. Yamaha has issued a “Service Bulletin” regarding the starter.  Some have had issues and some have not.  Type in your VIN# and check. NOTE: unlike a “recall” which is safety related and ALL vehicles must have it done, a “Service Bulletin” may apply only to certain bikes and is VALID ONLY WHILE BIKE IS UNDER WARRANTY PERIOD.
