  1. Maybe im strange and that’s why my marriage has lasted 32 yrs. she’s my “partner” not my SERVANT.
  2. Yea, no kidding! It’s a “no brainer” on that one.
  3. Try installing 10 recessed LED lighting cans in the kitchen PLUS under cabinet and above cabinet lighting with touch controls! Each of the cans had to have joist spanners installed for the cans to mount to. Cutting the ceiling drywall holes made an unholy MESS! Chalk dust EVRYWHERE. The next few days after install were nothing but cleaning. Yuck!
  4. “Assumption” is the mother of all screw ups. Been there & done that which is why I learned LONG ago, READ THE DIRECTIONS FIRST. It seems everytime I “assumed” something was straight forward and would be easy, the Chinese threw an unexpected twist and botched up my expectations. Well, at least you got a few “cold ones” out of the deal!
  5. It’s my first belt drive too, but I am monitoring it closely.
  6. Hey Zoeydog, I just finished my 8,000 mile service and no adjustment has been needed to the belt. I ride it pretty hard too, so I hope that helps.
  7. Red is the way to go bro! Trust me!
  8. Here in the South we got some “boiled peanuts” but I ain’t heard a no boiled carbs before!
  9. For my tastes, I’m getting the Kuryakyn “ERGO III pads with Longhorn bars”. This will relegate my foot position and NOT take away from cornering clearance. Because the frame bar is so low, if you have straight pegs it will lessen your cornering clearance. The set up I’m getting will place my feet up higher than the end of the board and also forward to stretch my legs out.
  10. Great pics Yoopermoose! Please keep em coming!
  11. Thanks for the info. How tall are you? I’m 6’ 3” so the extra legroom will help. Like I said, I didn’t want to hit them OR have my legs incontact with them while using highway pegs. I’m going to be installing the Kuryakyn Ergo III with Longhorn adjustable bar. I want to be able to place the peg up and forward rather than straight out which would impact ground clearance since that frame bar is so low.
  12. Very nice! Congratulations!! Hope it brings you many trouble free hours of safe riding!
  13. Hi cow Puc! The Dunlop is a good choice. I ran the Touring Elite II on my 91 Royale and consistently got 18k+ miles out of them! The dual compound is the way to go for sure.
  14. Ok, but the first time you have to move quick (and not carefully) to get your foot on the brake, there goes your wind wing and hopefully no damage to the fairing!
  15. Thanks for that info Glenabby! I was considering installing them but wondered about whether or not they’d be in the way of accessing highway pegs/boards. You’ve answered my question. Now the dilemma is, do I want my highway pegs more than the air flow? Hmmm??
  16. Im not familiar with their “system” Bratman, but there’s a LOT of merit to that idea. First time riders should NOT be allowed to go out and buy a high performance machine that is WAY beyond their skill level. They wanna kill themselves that’s up to them. I’m talking about protecting the innocent bystanders who might be hurt or killed by him.
  17. I spent 31 yrs in San Diego riding and lane splitting there IS legal BUT here’s the specifICS: You can do 5mph faster that tragic up to 35mph which means you can go 40mph, but above that you’re supposed to merge back in. The problem is that “crotch rockets” are what give bikers in general a BAD NAME. These idiots will do 40mph splitting stopped traffic and typically weave in and out of traffic as well. They regularly just piss off drivers with their antics. North Carolina currently has a bill going through that will make it leagal to split lanes in stopped traffic allowing the bike to proceed up to the front at a stop light.
  18. I don’t have them, but a guy who used to be here (YamahaParExcellance) said he HIGHLY recommended them. Said they made a huge difference on a warm day. Of course you have to be moving though. Stop n go traffic or slow traffic isn’t gonna do much for ya.
  19. OUCH!! I’ve got full replacement coverage through GEICO and it only added $50 a month to my policy!
  20. Apology accepted Puc & thank you. Now let’s get the “Ho Down” started talking about why we ride and where’s some great places to ride and the “Hoot Nanny Shenanigans” that go down at them thar meetings many of us haven’t had the privilege of enjoying YET!
  21. Yea, I see what ur saying. In that case I guess the answer is YES! I also guess I’m giving a plug to use the plug too!
  22. What a bummer! What’s with th all this “blacked out” stuff? Give me the chrome! I don’t need my bike to blend into dark shadows so that I can help someone make me ROADKILL because they didn’t see me. I want the BLING to be seen, or something to sparkle in the headlights of a vehicle. I like the Style of the Yamaha trunk rack & saddlebag rails BUT I have to spend MORE money to have them chromed! Arrrrgh!
  23. Gotta pick & choose battles. I’m not touching that one!
  24. I would not have minded a 1700cc V4, but it would have drastically changed the low speed handling and made the bike too heavy for sure. Also, there’s the PRICE POINT of the bike. Already people have complained about the price of this technological behemoth. If they would have gone with the V4 every body wanted, you can tack another $3k-$4k on the price tag.
  25. Bummer! I was kinda hoping he’d join up.
