OUCH!! That REALLY stinks! I can’t imagine the sickening feeling watching her go over., (sounds of screaming NOOO!!!). Do mind if I ask an honest question. I see a LOT of riders here on the older 1st Gen Ventures, and I had a 91 VR myself. I loved it! My question is after watching all the forums: At what point do you get tired of always having to fix or jury rig stuff to work do you get tired of it and just get a NEW bike that you don’t have to do anything but RIDE?? Everybody spends all this time wrenching on stuff or searching for parts to keep a 30yr old bike going instead of spending the time enjoying the road. Isnt there something such as “diminishing returns”? Just curious.

If it’s for an 84 VR, good luck. They don’t make them anymore so your gonna have to try a salvage yard or someone who’s parting out a bike.

I might be barking up a tree here, but I’d have a local dealership VALIDATE what was done incorrectly, then have them fix it and send the bill to the HACKS who didn’t do it right in the first place! Why are you paying to fix a dealerships mistake? I sure as heck wouldn’t!

I ran with the “surefire” in mine. Seemed to up my mpg by about 1-2mpg.

Thats good to hear! Are you going to get a check BACK from the extra you had to pay and shouldn’t have? I sure hope so!

Thanks Puc! I checked into the EDL and it appears they are ONLY issued in the Northrtn states bordering Canada. Not something I can get here in North Carolina, so I’m stuck getting passports. Oh well, won’t make it this year but I’ve been meaning for us to get them anyways. Y’all have a great time and until then, maybe I’ll run into some of you “Varmints” here stateside!

Wife & I are thinking about coming up to the Ontario Rally. It’s been years since I’ve been to Canada, actually Vancouver. Does anybody know if a passport is required?? It didn’t use to be last time I went up there in the late 80’s but times have changed. Can someone tell me please? Thank you in advance!

Thanks for the invite. I’d love to but I’m still not retired and trying to grow a business. I just took 5 days off 2 weeks ago for a trip to Pennsylvania and we’re trying to prepare for a 10 day trip through motorcycle roads in North Carolina, Tennessee & Kentucky in July. Yes, we are doing Skyway, Blue Ridge, Cherohola Hwy & Dragons Tail.

No place to put it up there. Besides, it’s a visual deterrent to go along with the alarm. Had a similar setup on my 91 VR.

Ok folks, I finally finished wiring in my Dash Alarm Indicator (my name for it). I think it’s pretty trick! Let me know what ya think?
