Funny you mention that, guy at work was recently telling me his F150 locked up after shutting it off. I popped the belt off and it fired right up. AC compressor locked up and the belt wouldn't let the starter turn it. Ran into the same thing with the local Sheriff dept on a cruiser years ago but it was the alternator locked. They brought it to me for a new engine, very surprised to get it back the same day and the much lower bill.

You didn't say what bike. Assuming 1st gen since 2nds don't have a factory tach. The tach fires off the #2 coil, start testing there. Also check to see if running on 2 or 3 cylinders. Mine dropped 2 with a bad tci. They run amazingly well on 3.

I believe kids need exposed to some of the jobs we had as teens. Most of them have no idea what a hard days work is. I grew up as a hod carrier on my dads job sites, 5 boys in my family and we all spent our summers on the job from age 12. I spent the months of August and Sept in the tobacco fields. Spend all day cutting, spiking, and hanging tobacco in 90 degree heat 90% humidity and you'll understand a days work. Most firefighters work a 2nd job on their days off as pay is far from great. Nearly all of us older guys are in some type of construction but these younger guys think they deserve high pay/low work jobs. I had one with a wife and kid at home complaining about money problems so I set him up with a friend to work on a block job. He made it to lunch and told me that he wasn't going to work that hard. I always thought a man did what he had to do to pay the bills. Now all the farmers and many construction companies are using immigrant labor because young America is too entitled.

In light of the current weather I thought this might need bumped.

I burned through thousands of rounds in my earlier years but don't shoot much anymore. At the rate I shoot now I should plenty of ammo for life. This is my version of fun with guns now. I hunt some for food but love to watch the kids on a hunt.

From what I understand Larry no longer makes them so I plan to make some myself. I have a weakness when I design and build things, I overthink it and have to put in some extra movement or mechanism just for the fun of it. I'd like to see pics of Larry's rests and any others out there. I don't know which direction I'll go but have a few ideas.

Does anyone have some pics of passenger armrests? I'm looking to build a set to keep the wife happy. Maybe if she has a place to put her hands and grab onto when she gets jumpy my helmet won't get smacked as much. I've spent a couple hours searching old posts but most of the picture links are gone. I have a couple ideas but would like to see some other ideas. I pulled a set off my blonde MK1 parts bike before I sold it but none of that assembly will be used on the 07.

Bob you've been in my thoughts a lot in the last few days. I'm a firm believer that one's attitude and tenacity have a huge influence in health. Keep yourself surrounded with family and friends keep up the fighting attitude. I saw your post recently about being with the 101st, they're down in my neck of the woods. I stopped to eat beside the post last month. Still praying.
