I hope the younger guys are listening, any man that lives long enough will have some enlarement and the symptoms that come with it. I was taking lyrica to treat fibromyalgia and the SE I got was interupted prostate function, besides not being effective for its intended use it was most uneasant and took some time to return to normal after cessation of the med. I've never tried one of these otc things but I'm thinking it may be about time to consider one. Im glad to hear who has had what luck with which ones. I cant believe I'm having this conversation, sometimes we flash into a moment when we realize were getting old, dammit haha.

The newer German inline 6 is admirable to say the least, but its not the eye candy of the old school Hondas. The CBX is just too cool for words, all those cyl and dp shamelessly out in the breeze. Whats not to love. I have not seen one on the road for decades.

I have no comment or issues with responsible recreational MJ use, same precautions should be used as with alcohol. Potential for abuse is there but . We are finding that it is very effective for quite a few things so there is no doubt its not going away, on the contrary it holds a great deal of promise. Its hard not to take a look when its so much cheaper, more effective and with significantly less SE than some indicated meds for some Dx. Im afraid im not sure how it would help the OP. Meth is physically and powerfully addictive unlike MJ. Im unaware of any way to help someone suffering with addiction until they want help, with the possible exception of involuntary commitment to a Tx/detox program under the supervision of a physician specializing in treating addiction. All options should be considered. The right physician should know the programs, resources and laws in their locality, IMHO its worth a chat with one to get more info. I have heard great things about the support group for (maybe cant say the name here) family of folks suffering addiction. It sure cant hurt.

Im going to resist the burning compulsion to try and educate/dispell the mountain of misinformation and misconception surrounding MJ, even within this thread. As a nurse I must strongly urge readers to research the positives and therapeutic uses before grouping it with highly addictive and non-therapeutic drugs like meth. Used appropriately it is a HUGE asset for many with difficult diagnosis, not kidding here folks, its not at all the same thing. I am truly excited about where MJ is going within the medical community and how nervous big pharma is about this whole thing. As for meth, there is information on treatment and recovery. Its worth a consult with a physician that specializes in addiction medicine or a support group that im not sure if I can name here. Dont give up on him, I remember how priceless family support was when I needed to stop drinking, it was dark times. Meth is a tough one but people can and do get better, it can be done. Im pulling for your son and family.

The good news is you got your accident out of the way and will make a full recovery. Glad it wasnt worse! I hope you heal up quickly.

Thats awesome, congrats!

Im very tight with the # and the phone is off unless I go to town. Very few junk calls. For my home phone I had to change my number and then I only gave the number to friends and associates. I use a burner phone to call those that I dont trust with my real number. Besides if they dont leave a message then it was not important and I dont give it a second thought. Having your number circulating around spammers is nonrefundable, you cant put that **** back in the dog, might as well change your number and be very tight with it. Once you start getting hammered its all over for that number in my experience..

Any running car for $500 is pretty good, hard to get hurt on that deal.

Its slick but I think a Tundra or F150 would be infinitely more practical. I wonder if we could shove an XVZ into it... Any word on how many of these may get produced?

It's easier for one to paw one's cellphone if one is in a car rather than on a bike. It comes down to simple convenience. I also believe that having to learn how to use a clutch is a deterrent for many younger folks. I'm not sure it has much to do with cost, I know new bikes are a luxury not everyone can afford, especially in the interesting times that lay ahead of us, but CL is loaded with decent low cost bikes which might be a reflection of supply vs demand of good used machines. My son has expressed an interest in riding and he's 22 now. I discouraged it because it's just too dangerous given how distracted motorists have become. It's just no longer safe. If I lived in a metro area I can safely say I would be done with bikes and this stuff courses through my veins. Risk vs reward is not playing out like it did before cellphones.

If they used an air cooled twin it would not need any more stopping power. Yamaha and their fancy-pantsy liquid cooled engines, pffffft!

Wha... Why? It looks clever, but why?

I'm really sorry they are still dicking you around. An added expense of course but maybe a USCIS attorney can take some of the sting out of it. Knowing what a pain in the ass it is to deal with USCIS I'm never shocked that folks overstay their visa and just hang out stateside. It's worse when some can simply sweep across the border in the night, come on over and do whatever they want, and some of our cities will actually protect them from deportation, meanwhile those who choose to do it right have this epic hassle and expense to look forward to.

Many of the items listed have not been a problem for me, which is why it's a good fit. I never felt like the gen1 was hard to park or uncomfortably top heavy, the seat/ergos/wind protection are second to almost nothing. Performance and handling are admirable. It was cheap and easy to transform the brakes into something sweet. I have never owned a gen2 but I can say that the gen1 had the recipe right on. The way it rides and performs it's tasks are fantastic for a bike that was old enough to buy booze when Obama took office. I boycotted Pirelli for their 2016-2017 dumpster fire calendars, and they make a great product. Imagine how fast Yamaha landed on my no-fly list after crapping out an air cooled twin Venture whilst the amazing 1700cc V4 is currently in production! I have a feeling that when the new Venture has been on the road for awhile it's list of annoyances, common failures, idiosyncrasies and shortcomings will easily exceed past generations. We'll see. I wish Yamaha all the best in selling their new models, but I'm officially out with new Yamaha products..

Happy birthday! what a perfect way to spend a birthday too.

That shaft drive does soak up a bit of tq and hp. I think installing as set of gen1 vmax heads/cams/intakes and you will still stay a bit under the $36k mark and have around 150-160 hp at the crank. Another great consideration is our bikes churn out their 98hp higher than the Victory will even rev. The higher the revs are when peak HP (HP being equal) comes on the quicker things go.

Clutch is the first thing I would have gone to, but that being replaced I would x3 on the clutch MC or slave not getting her done. I cant remember reading about a catastrophic trans failure, even on the Vmax side of things. If you lacked enough oil to kill the trans I would have assumed the engine to go first. These are fairly bullet proof units, both engines and trans. I hope (and believe) that you will find the problem within the hydraulics. Does it go through the gears with the engine off, like N lets you roll the bike and 1st or 2nd do not (engine off)?

Cudos to Honda for not sticking an air cooled narrow-angle twin in it and calling it a Goldwing! They put it on a diet and made it gruntier while staying true to the flat six. Gotta say, it looks like something I would ride and maybe buy. I wonder how the ergos compare to the previous model.

I would like to jump on the "it should be syncbed" bandwagon. Its just that important, especially for idle and low rpm behavior. Its not uncommon for the fronts to run a little cooler, although Im not sure about 125. I do the downpipe spit sizzle test and its hard to distinguish. I have read about a few guys on the Vmax side that actually run slightly fatter jets in the rear two but like most, I just run it and enjoy.unlike the Vmax, the venture seems fine with OEM jetting. Synch it and dial it in and ride! Like Puc, I dont need to do much downshifting but its really happier after 3000 rpm in the top gears. It really starts to pull at about 4000rpm. I can cruise and gradually accelerate from under 2500 but her powerband would be around 3500 up.. If you tend to short shift, as I do, sometimes well under 2500rpm then it really needs to be kept in synch or it may buck and fuss. There will be some performance differences between gen1 and gen2, never ridden the later so I cant elaborate much. One noteworthy tidbit, these V4s run surprisingly well on only 3 pots, other than being down on power it might not be immediately obvious. This is why the DP temp test is valuable.

Im at work so I dont have the link handy, but there is a link on the Factory Pro webside for float adjustment for Vmax, but its the same measurement and proceedure, virtually identical carbs. Its an old bike so removal and cleaning of said carbs might be prudent anyway. It allows you to inspect things like jet block plugs, jet sizes and diaphragms (that can be done with carbs installed). If this is a bike your going to take out over the road on trips its a good idea. Its easy to burn some calories trying to avoid pulling them, ask me how I know haha. If the bike sat for a length of time with ethanol tainted fuel you may be unable to flush out all those nasty corn squeezings without removal/dissassembly. If your somewhat mechanically inclined and have basic tools you will have them off in an afternoon with only mild profanity. Its a snug fit to slide the rack out but quite doable. For the floats, they are not a common fail item, they can be weighed to make sure they are consistent and one is not saturated, there is also a buoyancy test to make sure tbey all float the same. When replacing ANY parts inside the carb (or anywhere else on the bike, or any vehi le for that mater) NEVER EVER use Chinese parts, never! ALWAYS USE OEM parts or a good Japanese aftermarket like K&L which is aftermarket and Japanese, available on Ebay all day long. Avoid the great prices on generic stuff or you WILL end up doing the job over again and buying the quality parts anyway. Snap a few pics of the rack with your phone to make sure it goes back together the same, do carbs in pairs jusr in case you need a reference on assembly. Get a good quality #3 phillips and vice grip if you dont have JIS screwdrivers. These are things I have learned with my Venture and Vmax (same-ish engine and carbs). If any of this saves you headaches and/or $$ then its worth it to make a longwinded post.

Yea, no automatics, it sort of defeats the purpose of having a Euro car. I took my old Benz diesels that way, no choice. A straight rust free pickup does have value. More of a win if it has a diesel and a clutch. Im not fond of new Beetles, nice cars but not my style. I would take an air cooled standard beetle in a second, again. If you do snag that pickup do not hit a deer with it, those things are getting pretty hard to find without rust. Pretty sought after, esp with diesel/MT. I have gotten so weary of deer that I rarely come close. Wifey and I each clocked a deer in the last couple years. Im so careful now its nuts. Dusk and dawn are extra bad. SoDak is like 6th in states for deer vs. car. But the Black Hills where I live is easily the worst part. Every morning there are several around my house. Plenty of wild turkeys too, and those can put the hurt on a car. Those stupid birds attack my Lexus if I wash it, they attack their reflection in it, it has hundreds of little vertical 6" scratches in it all over about 18" off the ground. They obviously have no idea how delicious they are or they might not so blatantly tempt fate.

We have plenty of white tail deer here in the hills, not huge but so very plentiful, getting out of the hills and out on the plains and see some pretty robust mule deer. Hooved rats all. On that IDI diesel, there is an excellent 85 near me. 1.6 NA coupe with a 5 speed. I think he o ly wants $2200. The TDIs are laced with gold, especially the ALH cars. Been looking for one for a long time. No luck for a MT, only autotragics. I gave up, I think its going to be a rough winter so I headed to CO and got an 06 B7 Audi A4 2.0 turbo 6 speed quattro sedan. Since you appear to be a VAG (VW/Audi group) fan im going to recommend you give one of these bad boys a throw. That 2.0T FSI is a jewel, 30-35 mpg, even with the AWD, and it will definately push you back into the seat. I think mine is chipped because its pretty nasty. If you dig Jettas and Golfs (like I do) and can do some of your own wrenching you must try one out. Im going back to CO to get an upgraded clutch/lightened flywheel installed, it needs it, and a different tune. A lot of car for not to much money but just like VW, Audi can be finicky, but I suspect you know that. I almost got a 335D, I love diesels but I effen hate iDrive. PM me if you want to know more about the 85 IDI near me.

Carb synch sucess!!!

Its amazing how much low rpm manners increase when all four holes are doing the exact same thing! Glad you had success. Dont burry that gauge to deep, its good to throw it on the bike at least once a season to keep it crisp and happy. -
Really sucks your still going through this ****. It's hard to imagine this can go on in 2017. Is your lawyer aggressive enough? Perhaps he can do a change of venue to get your bro put of there based on documented threats. Hang in there man and keep your eyes open! If they are known rats maybe some others out there would be interested in that information. Im livid on your behalf, what a bunch of ****ers.

Ours was fairly smooth considering all the flaming hoops. I married my Ilonggo queen about 10 yrs ago and I could not be happier. She was already here but still immigration can be a pain. Hang in there, you will get to the other side. Good luck and let us know how it goes.
